With the olive oil thing? this defiantly helps with acne does it? and is it ok for anyone to put it on at night? and this is probably going to sound stupid ... but how do you do this? do you just rub it all over your face and go to sleep then wash it off? I'd really like to know on what to do and how, and if it'll help!
I'm very scared to put EVOO on my face. I don't know.
EVOO is a hit or miss oil. It is very acidic. Try swallowing a teaspoon full. It'll burn as it goes down. I used it for many months before switching to grape seed oil, which is much less acidic, as well as being much thinner. You might try spot treating with both and see which one your skin reacts better to.
But the single greatest oil i have used topically, without a doubt, is rose hip seed oil.It is so incredibly thin, and absorbs very fast. It's also very mild, but supposedly great for scar healing and hyper-pigmentation. It is expensive though. But it lasts a really long time. I believe a two ounce bottle was $18.00, but you might be able to find it for less. This, in my opinion and experience, is the ultimate oil for skin. I know that's quite a claim, but it's the first oil i'd recommend anyone use
Holy shit, some of you people on this forum are so mislead. Please follow my threads i will do all i can to make you acne free. Acne free is actully not that complicated as i thought myself.
First of all, olive oil is the best supplement and topical i ever used, never be scared to use it whether its for moisturizing, cooking or just drinking a tspn a day! Just make sure its extra virgin olive oil so you know you get the best quality. Olive oil will make your skin heal faster, balance your hormones. And talking about acidic vs alkaline, that can be a cause of acne but if you just cut out all the bad acidic foods and replace it with olive oil it will not be a problem. Also i think olive oil has so many benefits that even if you drink it on an already high acidic diet its only going to do good for you.
EVOO does in fact have numerous health benefits when ingested. But again, people's skin types react differently when it is used topically. One thing you will learn from browsing these forums is that people do not all react to a product in the same manner. Also, many EVOOs on the market today have other oils added to them to keep down the production cost. So you have to make sure that you are getting your EVOO from a reliable source.
And being acne free is indeed very complicated, involving a whole host of bodily functions/genetics/foods/topicals/hormones, etc.

Yes people react differently on products. But EVOO is a natural oil which is the one thats closest to a humans natural oils. The truth is, people are scared - they rather go and get something over the counter because it makes them feel like it can't be bad for them. So when they finally get the balls to try EVOO and they still breakout they think its the EVOO that is the cause and they stop using it. Fact is that you can't cure acne with just applying olive oil thats impossible when all acne starts from the inside. But its definately the best og safest moisturizer in the world. I have used it for 3 mounths now and im clear. I wonder if i had used over the counter stuff and medication drugs would i be clear now?

I'm guessing...probably not? And if it was medication...definitely not. As anti-biotics are only good while you are on them, and good is the wrong term. They destroy the good bacteria in your gut and leave you in an even more vulnerable state when taken off of them.
Are we arguing about something? lol i'm a bit confused to be honest. I wouldn't say EVOO is the best topical oil for skin. I've tried two others that have worked much better for my skin: Grape seed and Rose Hip Seed. So there you go. Proof that not everyone will react the same. And i've read countless other comments by people on these forums that have described negative experiences with EVOO. If EVOO works for you, that is awesome. And if people want to try it out, i'd suggest spot testing to be sure it won't cause an unwanted reaction. For many, it is a lifesaver. But for my skin type, their are oils better suited for the job
Also i used EVOO for many months before switching to a much less harsh oil in grape seed. And then rose hip seed, which is the single greatest oil i have used topically. But just to show you that i'm not dissing olive oil and it's skin clearing capabilities, here's a video that really got me interested in topical use of EVOO

Yeah i thought you said that EVOO was bad for some people, i'm sure EVOO is good for everyone!
Women all over the Mediterranean swear by olive oil. It is great for skin. But, for those of us with skin problems, you'd be better off using an oil that's higher in linoleic acid and lower in squalene. Grape seed and safflower oil are amongst the best sources. Hemp seed has less but has other benefits. I don't know the make up of rose hip, but it is believed to contain retinoids which we are also lacking in our skin.
