Has anyone visited an endocrinologist to see if they have a hormonal imbalance? I am a male in my 20's and after reading about what causes acne, I feel it is more hormonaly related. Any advice?

Never been myself but i would put money on most westerners have some form of hormonal imbalance.

Just eating one chocolate bar can disturb hormonal balance. Insulin goes through the roof, this also can affect Leptin, Grelin, thyroid and many others.

If you suspect an hormonal imbalance then change your diet, may be your research should be focused on nutrition?

Thanks for the reply. I have drastically changed my diet in the past 2 years. I don't touch grains or dairy anymore. Very much into eating raw veggies, fruits, and lean meats. Only dairy is the kefir I take.

not yet but I'm getting near the end of my rope so it'll probably be in my near future...with my luck though, they'll just be like "well everything appears normal on the blood tests, go see a derm and get some topicals bla bla"

If you eat healthy (and don't have any allergies), exercise, sleep and avoid xenoestrogens/phytoestrogens...it's not likely that you "genetically" have a hormone imbalance. So, it could be another problem at the root that is actually causing the hormone imbalance. Look into insulin resistance- it could be the cause of hormonal imbalance.
