I know that IgG food allergies can contribute to acne, but can IgE reactions (immediate/2 hours) cause the skin to become oily? It's not on the list of IgE reactions but I thought somebody might know something about this. Thanks alot.

IgE antibodies are involved in the immediate type reactions like hives, swelling, anaphylactic shock, etc. The kind most people, doctors includes, consider allergies.

IgG, IgA and other antibodies are involved in other delayed type reactions and sensitivities.

It's okay guys, I think it was after I consumed yoghurt due to it's deceivingly low GI but insanely fucking high insulin index (just found out).

Thanks!

Any reaction contributes to acne by causing inflammation.

but ige causes imidiete type reactions right? So are sensitivites double bad?? Or less bad because it causes less inflamation.

All reactions result in inflammation.

Bump....just came across this study http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16650596

Kissing supposedly decreases IgE allergic response, what do you think of this? I wonder if other endorphin-triggering activities can suppress allergic reactions as well.

Such things have a big impact on immune system function
