Should I rinse off apple cider vinegar after applying topically?

I've been using topical ACV for a few weeks now with very good results. I've just been applying it on my entire face with some tissues a few times a day and leaving it. Should I be rinsing it off afterward, though?

Are you using a diluted acv mixture? If you are, I wouldn't rinse it off. If you're using pure acv, you might want to rinse it off after 15 min, when it has had time to absorb.

I've been using undiluted store brand ACV, 5% acidity.

I have been using it undiluted for a wee while now, no issues. Skin not red. And 2 metres away from mirror (when drying myself after shower) my skin just looks fantastic, but I am still getting more and more. Today i'm trying 5% BP as well.

BP doesn't really do much to get rid of acne, I would recommend against using it. All it seems to do is redden the area around the acne, making it less apparent (in addition to being pretty horrible for your skin in general).

The common method is to dilute ACV in water, at a ratio of about 2:1, or 1:1 if you really don't have a problem with it. It's best to start with more water (like 3 or 4:1) and work your way down. Spread it on your face after washing, and leave it there until next time you wash. I wouldn't use pure ACV, except maybe on the precise spots you have pimples. Not really necessary, though.

I had the same question. I've been rinsing it off after because I don't want to stink when I go out in the morning. I'm using Braggs ACV, so the smell isn't terrible. (I tried Heinz ACV and that was some stinky stuff!) Anyways, after I apply it and leave it on for 30 minutes or so, I rinse it off. If I'm meeting up with friends and going out, I'll use some Cetaphil cleanser too. This regimen seems to be working so far - I've been OK for about 2 weeks now.

geez! who would have known that some household remedy would work so much better than any oral medication or topical cream - for me at least! I spent so much money on different acne medications (solodyn, doryx, differin, clindamycin, benzaclin, kiehl's cleanser, neutrogena BP, kiehls lotion) but the medications just made things WORSE! They dried out my skin, gave me rashes, and ruined the overall quality of my skin. And then I come across ACV - I drink it 2 times a day and apply it on my face in the morning and night. My skin is no longer dry and the pimples have subsided significantly. I'm going to be consistent with the regimen and hopefully, my face won't get worse!

I don't think you have to rinse it off. But you certainly can if you want to every once in a while. I leave it on all night and usually I leave it on all day, too (full strength, by the way...I guess I don't have sensitive skin). But if I'm going out and am concerned that someone may smell it, I'll put it on a few minutes and then rinse it off. It hasn't hurt my results to rinse it off on the days I go out.

try 50/50 acv toner 2x day and organic honey as a face wash 1 times day or every other day and jojoba oil as a moisturizer it keeps your skin at a ph of 5.5. Dont use bp its not necessary when your skin is balanced. Sometimes you can use acv 3x per day just dab with a cotton pad.

I also drink it 2x per day i put a tablespoon mixed with some juice in a shot glass and chug it followed by a glass of water ( when you throw it back it doesnt touch your teeth )

pure organic aloe vera gel as a body wash completely cleared my body acne- it has a ph of 5

Ive been doing this for 1.5 weeks and my skin has improved tremendously, I had always eaten a lot so I have not been losing weight. try loe gel from vitacost its only 3.00 for 2 months worth. dans jojoba, acv and honey totals about $15 per month...pretty cheap compared to anything else on the planet that supposed to clear acne,.. I need to get back on fish oil too and stop obsessing about my skin....ha right like I could just snap my fingers and stop.......sigh

Tried ACV last night, starting to think i have Pityrosforum Folliculitis (spell check). I know ACV to be a great antifungal so i decided to apply it topically. Any positive results are inconclusive but I can definitely tell you that it bleached the heck out of my skin. Its summer here and I am seriously tan, but now thanks to the ACV my face is deathly white. Has anyone else experience this side effect? Just thought Id give a fair warning to others who are considering topical ACV

Dilute it with some brewed green tea and leave it on.

I just discovered ACV and it's amazing!

I wash my face with a gentle cleanser then tone with a 1:1 ACV/distilled water solution, morning and night. I find that I don't even need a moisturizer anymore because my skin is much more balanced now. No more dryness or oiliness.

I don't rinse off. The smell is weird but you get used to it after seeing the great results. Also love that this is healthy for the skin and all natural.
