So last night I was reading someone's post on here and they talked about a doctor that wrote a book on modern medicine and how "they" know what causes acne, but they choose to ignore the REAL cause so the doctors can have patients, the pharmaceutical companties can sell drugs, and they can keep you coming back! make sense right? if we had the cure for acne, there wouldnt be a need for the entire aisle of acne creams and washes at the store right?
Apparently there are some countries that WANT to help you (unlike the united states and europe). There is a lot of evidence that something called demodex mites are the cause of acne and rosacea. Most people have these mites in there skin and dont even know about it. I know that sounds scary, and almost insane, but it makes sense if you think about it! We know there are tiny living bacteria and dust mites living all around us, so maybe this doesnt sound so crazy. there is a simple test you can do to see if you have these mites (i havent done this yet). Its all explain on this website that sells creams from China to kill the mites (I'll post it at the bottom).
I've spent a good portion of my day researcing this theory and demodex mites are real! but most american websites choose not to blame the mites for causing acne and rosacea. they say "evidence is not conclusive that demodex mites are the cause of acne". why is this the first time ive ever heard of such a thing? Ive been batteling acne for most of my life and no one has ever suggested that mites were the cause!
Do you think the government is trying to keep this a secret so they can continue to sell us more over the counter CRAP that doesnt work? to keep the dermatologist in business? to continue to sell us some uneffective antibiotics? make your own decision... but i found all of this very intriguing!
there is all the information you need about these mites on: http://www.demodexsolutions.com/
they tell you how to test for mites, and also sell a cream to kill them. i havent bought it, but it all makes a lot of sense. there is other research out there to support the claims made on this website.
let me know what you guys think! dont yell at me if you disagree... i didnt make this up, im only sharing what i have found.
Clearly it's been many years since this was posted....but I thought I would share my face journey and how it relates to demodex mites.
My face has always been clear other than the odd breakout. Well three years ago my life took a big turn and amongst all the changes my face turned into a nightmare for almost two years. I went from zero pimples, to I'd say hundreds of tiny dots all over my forehead, cheeks and chin. I tried everything and nothing worked...it would clear for a few days and then all come back. All doctors that I went to were useless and I've done it all on my own by googling for hours on end. So after being told I have rosacea, excema, dermatitis....and that I'd need lots of laser therapy to get rid of scarring after using the expensive creams...my face is clear with no scarring from spending about $20. So I read a blog that opened my eyes and it was about demodex mites....I then researched how to get rid of demodex mites...without ordering the one cream from china. I started doing a daily routine....in the morning I'd wash my face with castor oil and teatree oil (not near my eyes)...then I'd apply coconut oil or olive oil as a moisturizer (diluted with water as to not appear too oily)...when I got home from work I'd apply a castor oil/selson blue (dandruff shampoo) mask for a half hour....the silver in it seems to pull them out....then at night wash again with castor oil and teatree oil and then apply coconut oil at bed time. Every night I would either switch my pillow case or put a fresh towel on my pillow .
Warning...this is not pretty. There are many days I wanted to give up and honestly not leave my house. But if you read about demodex mites it pretty much takes a year of daily treatment to kill off all of the life cycles...eww I know, it's gross. But I'm telling you, demodex mites are the cause of 80% of all acne issues. And exacerbates rosacea, dermatitis and excema. They are in all of our skin...living in our sebaceous glands...problem is, those of us with sensitive skin have a bad reaction when they die in our skin...eww again. People with a lowered immune system with rosacea etc, tend to have four times the amount of them in our skin...therefore imagine the bad reaction when all the little guys die in there...sorry again, gross. They have a quick life cycle...live deep down in our glands....which is why it's so hard to get rid of them...at night they come out and mate and go back in. This is why it takes so long to get rid of, but with each week there will be less that come back.
So it goes like this...first and second week..face looks awful..like way worse than it did. Week three..starting to feel pretty again. It's a trick...it comes backkkk...and you have to go through these ugly painful weeks every couple weeks. Buttt...every couple weeks you get less and less bumps...and eventually you don't get any.
If you stop on week 10 thinking you have corrected the problem...wrong. I did that. It all came back. I then started again and went through the ordeal all over again, except I did it for an entire year.
Guess what, it's all gone...no more redness, no more itching, no more food allergy outbreaks, no more hormonal outbreaks. I will get maybe one pimple a month.
After about week 13 I think..it was pretty minimal from there forward...so just know there is an end to the awfulness and keep pushing forward.
I can wear zero make up now and feel pretty...when I get out of the shower I no longer see huge red splotches all over my face.
I will continue to wash my face with castor oil for the rest of my life and I will use olive oil and water as a moisturizer. I will never take my clear skin for granted ever again.
I hope this helps someone.
Demodex mites can cause an acne like reaction for some people. But it's not everyone. I think there's much more evidence that it's at the root of rosacea.
And why the hell was this 2008 post not archived. When many far more valuable discussions that are just a couple of years old have been?Once they are archived, they are very hard to find. They don't appear in your Content I Follow, My Content, & other lists.
Also, not impairing your skin's ability to function is a really good way to control this. Because everyone has these mites, we just don't all have the same inflammatory response and possibly an overgrowth of them. Soap, lotions & other topicals impair skin function. You can also eat right to improve sebum quality & in the meantime, apply a high linoleic acid oil as that is what sebum that works is mostly composed of. http://www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/314390-acne-prone-skinsebum-deficient-in-linoleic-acid-possible-topical-solution/
