A question for you guys, is this an expensive regimen?

Actually, I get a B-Complex Vitamin with 10g of B-5 in it as well as some other vitamins from Walmart! And it's about $6-7. I think it's 30 capsules, so that's a month's worth.

Im pretty sure thats milligrams & not grams

When I first started using B5, it seemed to work. I was using it with a small potnecyl B-Complex, but it made me really tired. So I started taking it with a B-complex 100, which cured my fatigue problem, but the acne came back. Any suggestions as to how or when to take the B-complex 100?

"Taking this much vitamin b5 might cause a deficiency in the other b vitamins. I just take 1 pill of the complex twice a day. "

Would a multivitamin be enough to combat this?

Also, would it be too many vitamins if I take a multiv, b5 and zinc? That seems like a lot, but if it will help me and keep it good then I'm good.

the b complex could have a large amount of b6 in it, and i think b6 can cause acne to become worse, so perhaps look for one with less b6 in it

it depends if the multivitamin contains enough of each b vitamin, id compare multivitamin levels of b vitamins to those in a b complex pill.

Also that is alot of pills to be taking, but apart from the sheer amount i dont see that any problems would occur (might want to check for yourself on this one)

Check what it says on your bottle or jar, when in doubt read the instructions.

All this talk about initial purging has me thinking... if my acne is already all over (about 25 bumps, small and big) how much more can I break out?

For those with initial breakouts do you just have a couple that are really bad, a lot that are not so bad or a lot that are horrible? I am of the latter two.

Johns a diehard.

I would actualy start with 1 gram for the first day

2 grams for the second day and so on up to the reckomended dosage of 10 grams.

This way you can gauge if you are having any adverse reactions to the product, back off a gram, or stay on the same dosgae for another day or two then proceed up again.

Has anyone tried this?

It's my 3rd day on about 6 grams, no results so far. Order it online.

It has been more than 3 weeks now. I even crossed the 10 grams limit. NO RESULTS WHAT SO EVER. Oil production hasn't changed a bit! I think I'm gonna discontinue or take 50 grams for a few days to see what happens. I'm taking powder by the way.

How does anyone afford this? It would cost a ridiculous amount to keep it up at 10 grams a day. Seems like at least 50 dollars a month!

Approximately 23 for me delivered from the US to the UK.

Can you shoot a link for me plz alreadyover ?

Do you need to pay by visa ?

I have been on b5 for a 3 to 4 weeks now. The first week i took 2.5 grams. then i bumped it to 5. then i started 10 grams on the second week. Before i started, my skin was kinda ok but still had 3 or 4 pimples. on my 3rd week i saw results. but my stomach was killing me. i had the worst diarrhea ever. i wanted to shoot myself. so i got off for a day and went back doing 8 grams a day. my stomach was feeling better. I think its best for you to take 8 grams instead of 10. The grams may seem the same but it makes a huge difference. i also take a bcomplex twice day. my skin is clear, i just have old pimple marks left. that takes about a few weeks to clear up. i havent had a new pimple inabout a week. so guys, no overdosing on this stuff. 8 grams is enough. just eat an apple a day. and drink water. that made my skin clear. and to be honest with you, i started having alot more fun because i got my confidence stronger.

Right now, im taking 5 at 12.00pm , 5 pills at 6pm and 5 pills at midnght. 15 pills vs 20pills makes a huge difference on my stomach. and i got clear skin.

b5 works if you use it right. and stick with it. i was really thinking about getting off. and im glad i sticked with it

Ive been on tetracyline before and it worked for 4 months and they came back worse than ever. and my worse is like 6 to 7 pimples. i never had cysts before. but b5 works !!

I'm going to try B5 soon, I ordered it already but I'm not gonna be megadosing on it. I read an article where it said taking L-Cysteine with B5 cuts down 90% of the dose you have to take with B5 alone. So, 0.5~1.5 grams of Cysteine and 1.5-2.5 B5 will suffice. I'm going to try it once it arrives, hopefully it comes soon.

im using pantethine currently, its the active form of b5 and i take 2 pills a day, 450mg each. Its been about a week, no IB and a small reduction in oil production, but i wont make any judgments till its been 3 weeks or so. Look into pantethine abit before you decide to take 10-20 pills a day :)

Hey you guys! Have you heard of the product of skinb5? I have read good reviews about it. and vitamin b5 has a lot of back up research to prove that it could lessen acne by oil reduction..

I will be buying the products i guess.. the capsule, the cleanser and moisturizer as well..

From things I have read, b12 would have more of a negative impact on acne than b6.

So far the best deal I have found Pantothenic Acid:

[Removed]

500mg, 250 caps $8.99 each. With a $5.40 off coupon 6 bottles (1500 pills, 20 pills a day= 75 days) cost $53.53

Ordered it Sunday and will be receiving it in about 3 days.

what would be the equivalent of taking 2 g of b5 if one were to be taking pantothenic acid

instead?

Vitamin B5 IS panthothenic acid. a lot of places will call it panthothenic acid (GNC for one) but it's the same thing.

Here's another success story with Vitamin B5. I started taking it a year or so ago and gradually noticed my skin being less oily. Before I was strictly on the Acne.org benzoyl peroxide treatment (smearing a bunch of it on in the morning and night). I was still getting zits here and there. After the B5 plus the benzoyl peroxide, I was CLEAN. Not even a little whitehead. I actually was able to reduce my benzoyl peroxide smearing and was still clear.

Time passed and I got cocky thinking with older age, maybe I finally won the battle so I started getting lazy with taking my Vitamin B5. What a big mistake! The acne came back with a vengeance. I had stopped taking Vitamin B5 for so long that I forgot about it and upped my smearing of benzoyl peroxide. Nope, didn't help. Only when I remembered about the B5 and started taking it in high dosage again did I see some results again.

Morale of the story? Take B5 and if it works, keep at it. Don't get cocky.
