My mom bought the 250 mg instead of 500 mg (not her fault I didn't specify) and there are only 100 pills so I'm just going to do 3 or 4 grams a day since its kind of a pain to take 20 and then 40 pills a day..
Once I run out I'll make sure to get the 500 mg and then I'll do the "overdose" for 3 months
Just figured out my B50 I was taking is in tablet form, meaning it's likely time released like my clear5 (which you aren't supposed to take with other time released pills or they might interfere). So I bought capsules instead today . Shouldn't be a big problem, but i'm just a little ticked that I probably took 4 days worth of B5 at a reduced absorption rate.
wait, are you taking B5 or B50?
because, B50 isn't what you should be taking for this regimen.
The best price I've found so far is this:
http://www.vitamindeal.com/now-pantothenic-acid-250.html
250 caps of 500mg PA for $9.50, 3 bottles for $27.75 or 6 bottles for $53.99.
Has anyone found it cheaper elsewhere?
I've been taking 10g (spaced out over 4 doses) per day for a week and a half now and haven't noticed any improvement

Don't worry, i'm taking B5 (though at a lower dose of around 4.5 grams time released, since according to the site I got it from a smaller amount of time released is equivilant to the megadose of normal b5 because it slowly gives you it as opposed to normally where you give yourself a bunch and then piss out the extra meaning you need to replenish with more more often.
I use B-complex 50 in the morning to make sure I don't get any diffiecencies (though difficiencies are far less common with time release b5), but I take it at different times than my b5 so I don't reduce the absorption of one or the other. The reason I switched from the time released b50 complex was because that also releases slowly like my b5 (in my small intestines), so my receptors could be fighting over which to absorb meaning I don't get the full effect.
I also recently added the fish oil liquid to the b5 (a little after I take the b5 with food....about 2.6 grams a day of epa dha)and so far so good. It's been a week and the oil reduction is reducing slowly but steady. Most testimonials (actually real..not the fake ones) mentioned they really noticed it at the 3 week mark though so I need a little more time to make any concrete conclusions. And keep in mind the time released b50 could have been throwing off my absorption too, so i'm probably in my early stages of getting the effects still.
But yeah, so far so good in terms of anything new popping up.

i am pretty sure that that is the cheapest you'll be able to find.
i am not sure how well the quality of that brand is, i have never tried it.
i didn't see results after a week and a half either, then i started taking the B-complex and a multi vitamin and saw results very quickly.
so if you arent already, try taking a B-complex.
cementface you are so helpful! I'm going to make sure to buy the B-Complex next time I buy B5. I already take a multivitamin too.
why thank you!
i just try to help people with stupid acne as i know how badly it can effect everything in your life.
just another note about the B-complex..
i personally take my B5 with a meal (like its suggested for better absorption)
and i take my B complex on an empty stomach seperate from the B5 that way your stomach can absorb the B5...then can later deal with absorbing the B-complex.
i am not sure if this will help make your skin go clearer...but i have been doing this for about a week now, and i have noticed big improvements?
who knows.
I tried B5, then I stopped taking it a month latter. It made me break out and I was afraid of loosing my hair.
you should stick with it. I am vastly improved from using it and its only been a little over three weeks. My skin was very oily before, and in just this time my skin oily has decreased drastically. I too was afraid of losing my hair, and started to lose some on my body, but I caught it in time and since I started to supplement biotin my hair has almost grown back to normal on my body.
A little over a week and it is amazing. I noticed a slow decrease in oil around day 3, and then I added 2.6 grams of EPA/DHA fish oil liquid a day and I then produced more oil so I was pissed. I kept with it for another 2 days and the results are awesome. Now, I still get oil when I take the fish oil but it is the awesome natural glow kind that feels like I can leave it on my face all day without it breaking me out. The B5 also is keeping my pores very small, despite still having some oil (the good kind). I've read that B5 helps fish oil circulate, so i'm thinking those two combined are doing good. I took before pics so I will take an "after" pic in a day or two and show you guys the dramatic difference (all cysts on forehead are gone other than the slight redness from the scars). Keep in mind i'm only doing 4 grams a day time released. I'm loving this, especially with the fish oil added, though keep in mind the fish oil will give you a natural glow, so if you want completely shine free than maybe don't add it but it looks awesome on me.
I did notice that my skintone is overall much better. I take 3 grams of B5 and 4-5 grams of Omega 3 day. When I added ACV it helped reduce my current zits a lot. I just have to make sure not to drink ACV and take Omega 3 at the same time
4-5 grams of Epa/Dha in the fish oil pills or 4-5 grams of fish oil pills?

I take the capsules. On the bottle it says epa /dha but offhand I don't know exactly. The pills are 1 g each and I take 4-5 a day.
well im one month in a i am still breaking out consistently every day with 2-3 new blemishes around my mouth and chin. they are alot smaller than before though, so thats good, but i would have expected it to have slowed down by now. the oil on my face has reduced a bit but it is is still present, and oil is almost gone on the rest of my body, so i know the b5 is working to reduce the oil. i am just frustrated that i am still breaking out EVERY DAY with 2-3 new blemishes a day in on it. the thing is that they are all around my mouth and chin. the rest of my acne on my face has cleared up! I had mild acne before I started to take the b-5 and still have mild around my mouth and chin. Everywhere else is cleared up! hopefully by the end of the second month i will not be breaking out every day!
i have been on b5 for about 3 1/2 months. i was on 10 grams for a while and then about 2 or 3 wks ago i upped it to 14
i don't think it has done anything
i am still zitty and still oily.
maybe i'm one of the few who it doesn't work for?
this sucks i've spent so much money and hope on this i'm really thinking of giving up...
I only was doing 4 grams a day time-released...but I decided to stop. I know I didn't give it more than 2 weeks but I saw no difference and I came to the conclusion that i'd rather be on the safe side than megadosing. I've got Paulas choice and glucomannan coming in, so i'll have some new things to test out. Basically, I don't want to be worrying about time intervals that I have to take pills for the rest of my life, and I know the oil would come back if I stopped. Plus I like the oil, I just have to find a way to make it a better consistency (cod/fish oil and evoo).
been on b5 10 grams a little over a month. face is still oily. not what i expected.
Are you taking Fish oil? Myself, when I take Fish oil it makes my skin oilier.
Fish oil is a animal source omega-3 fat is already in active from EPA & DHA. The plant source Omega-3 fat from Flaxseed oil has ALA which your body converts to EPA & DHA.
BTW, nuts even though plant sourced may increase oil production as well. But, Flaxseed isn't a nut its a seed.
Problem with Fish oil is your getting all that active Omega-3's whether your body needs it or not.
The most affordable "certified GMP" Flaxseed oil softgel supplement that includes 20mg of lignans per softgel:
http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWE005/Item...il?n=4294967194
A study shows 50mg or more per day of Flaxseed lignans lower a man's risk of becoming bald. No point having no zits if you're balding lol
I take 4 softgels per day making 80mg of lignans per day. Two softgels with my first & last meals each day. Plus, only ALA (not fish DHA which lowers immune system by dropping levels of killer cells)lowers mens' risk of getting potentially fatal pneumonia by 32%.
All studies showing flaxseed oil ups prostate cancer risk is just using flaxseed oil not with lignans. Lignans have shown balance hormones & lower both prostate & breast cancer.
I've read how some people on here might be taking "B-complex thats time-released." Vitamin B3 as niacin time released can cause liver damage.
anyone used this product of b5 before?
https://www.amazon.com/1Fast400-Powder-Pantothenic-acid-600-Grams/dp/B00117YNJK/
I am having good results so far but I am moving to japan in 2 months and need to bring all my b5 with me. I need a good quality BULK order of b5 as will still be megadosing for a good 15 days before i take it down to 2 grams or so a day.
Hi all,
I am a 42 yr old red head with fair skin. I have rosacea and seb derm. I have been prone to acne breakouts since highschool and have always had very oily skin. I'm also very allergic. When I have a reaction to something, it comes out in the form of pustules, even in my mouth after wisdom teeth surgery. I love coffee, but when I drink it, I get cancor sores in my mouth. I've tried everything.. my goal now is to stop my sebacious glands from their craziness, this would at least allow some relief, and allow my skin to breath. I can handle the seb derm and rosacea.
I have plugged pores, the combination of skin cell over-production from the seb derm (30 times per month vs 1-2 times for normal skin) with out of control sebaceous glands, causing the inflamation and cystic acne.
My derm will not allow me to take Accutane, because I don't have enough systic acne in his view. I was reading about Resveratrol, then came upon B5, and thought I'll give that a try first. It's less expensive and appeared to not have side effects worth noting.
I started the "Clear 5" liquid (2 tablespoons per day) about 10 days ago due to it's bioavailability, I am happy to report quite good results.
Normally, I would have large amounts of wax building in my pores, like a big hair follicle. I could literally pull them out. Since, starting the Clear B5, my pores are less clogged and the wax-oil buildup has greatly diminished. It has allowed my skin to "Breath" to a greater extent. I work out regularly and usually, I find it very difficult to sweat in the T-Zones of my face because my pores are so clogged, now I am sweating with increased ease. It's a wonderful feeling.
I'm hoping this is something I can do forever to at least control my oil and give me one less thing to have to worry about. I can handle the seb derm and rosacea, it's the acne that ticks me off.
I'll continue to post results hopefully weekly
Paul
