OK. quick question to anyone thats reading.
What is the daily amount of vitamin B5 that you're taking at the moment. ?
Just want an overall view on what people are taking.
I'm currently taking 10 Grams...
I took 10g for the first 90 days before I slowly began to reduce my dosage. I'm currently at 6 grams.
I suffered with sometimes moderate to sometimes severe acne for eight years and tried everything under the sun! But vitamin B5 is the only thing that has worked and I am soooo happy now
Everyone on here should give it a try. It even works with cysts.
But don't stop taking it! I went off it for a week and got three big cysts when I hadn't gotten any since I began the B5.
Also, alot of times vitamins work together so I additionally take a multivitamin.

ok, any1 experienced this ? I started B5 on the 20th May, as in my sig, now the effects started really about 1 week ago, and after 2 and a half month of it my skin was clear. Now the past week, it started gettin worse again ? kinda one here there and everywhere. I'm on 10grams of it. So i have basically 4 days left untill the 3 month period. Any ideas?
Hmm, Well it started clearing really after id come back from spain for 2 weeks, where i ate cheese, milk loads of bread, which i dont usually eat. But it was ok, then i carried it on when i got home and its been fine, just recently its become like this? I drink plenty of water, erm. thinkin about it the week when my skin was good, my parents were away and i went to sleep like 2 or 3 in the morning everynight, gettin up at 6:30. So 4 hours sleep max. Maybe that could be a reason. Does sleep affect it really ? Im gonna lay off the foods maybe. See wot happens. I take 10 grams of b5 and a complex. But i havent took the cmplex since i went on holiday. so like 3 -4 weeks without. I start back up on it yesterday.

Finally decided to set myself up an account!
I have been on B5 about a month now, and had mixed results, aswell as a huge initial breakout.
My acne has never been THAT bad but I'd say mild - moderate.
In the last week or so my oil production has dramatically dropped.
I stopped using a B complex vitamin because I believed that to break me out,
Now I read about all this hair loss Im quite scared,
My hair is becoming quite brittle already, I mean, Its never been this texture before, its almost gone wirey..
Now Im sure thats due to the lack of oil production...
Should I start taking the Bcomplex again?? I am worried this will lead my oil production to increase again due to the Biotin that is in it?
I am purchasing my B5 from here :
The stuff Im buying is just cheap generic pantothenic acid, does anyone know if this is any good or should I be buying a higher quality product?
I started on time release B5 from holland and barrett, but from what I've heard, Time release is no good?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

my name is brad and ive been on b5 for over 2 years and i dont come back to the forums at all anymore just rarely to read some peoples stuff. the reason i dont come anymore is because im not seraching the site in and out anymore for a cure to my acne.
but u probly read some of my previous post.
but i just wanted to say honestly to all the people that dont think b5 works.
it really does.
--------
1.) With any treatment your going to have to breakout first b4 it gets better so you have to get over that.
2.) You can do something to cause a pimple and not get it until 3 weeks later so keep that in mind.
3.) If you deciding to take b5 you have to understand you have just under about 2 weeks before the b5 fully works with your system(sometimes if i couldnt buy my next bottle and i would skip a couple days i would still be clear until about 8 or 9 days later)
4.) You honestly have to stick with 10 grams for 3 months ( I know that sounds long and hard but you wont regret it i PROMISE.)

A couple things to know specially if you want it to work to its full potential.
1.) 10GRAMS A DAY (some have done 12 Grams FOR SERIOUS ACNE)
2.) If your doing 5 pills four times a day and you have been dooing it for 2 to 3 months and its worse then before YOU should take 4 pills five times a day.( With vitamin b5 its a water soluble vitamin which means you piss out any excess that your body doesnt asorb.)
3.) Now if your just taking them whenever you have time thats understandable but try and space them out evenly. if your taking the dose 4 times a day take it every 4 hours.
4.) One of the reasons people dont see that awesome results with it is usually they dont stick with 10 Grams a day or dont get the full potential of the b5.)
5.) So with every dose you have to get something in your stomach try and eat a decent meal and your b5 will be fully absorbd.)
6.) AND i found out the hard way if you didnt read my post about it before, TAKING a b-complex pill is very important. Not taking one will result in defiecinecy in all your other b vitamins because they ALL work together. And that has millions of problems GOOGLE IT>>.
7.) But what people dont understand is taking to much or with you b5 dose will lose a lot of the b5 effect which will not get you your full potential. So my suggestion is take it when you dont take your b5 dose. And some skip a day of taking your b-complex. Oh and all those websites like vigilante or whatever that have the b complex and shit in the dose so u don't have to take your complex isn't as well as doing it with pure b5 (own experience and heard from others).
8.) Personally i take mine right b4 bed (seeing that i dont take my b5 at bed) Now ill explain that the reason I don't take a dose b4 bed is because I usually don't eat a good enough meal to fully absorb it AND I ALWAYS WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BECAUSE I HAVE TO PEE CUZ ALL THE EXCESS B5 I DIDN'T ABSORB(WHICH IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND PERFECTLY GOOD B5 LOL).
9.) Also we go to the brand or what kind of b5 you buy YOu have to remember that you want the most of the b5 as possible to be absorbed, now if you have a lower quality or expired or whatever your not going to. I PERSONLLY have tried many different brands and types of b5 and have had some missshaps. The best in my opinion is GNC. Vitamin Shoppe is cheaper and just babout as good. But the ones you find at some grocery stores and some vitamin stores are horrible so find one that works and stick with it.
10.) And leave your bottle in and regular room temp and close cap. I have taken Ziploc baggies backpacks with my bottle in it in my car ETC. But the HEAT ALWAYS! makes them lose its potency. So keep that in mind.
11.) My last thing I want to tell you with my experience is That the first 3 MONTHS ARE THE HARDEST but after its definetly down hill so keep some of my experience and TIPS in mind and stick to it WHAT CAN YOU LOSE? PIMPLES?..

I have just taken 2 of the bcomplex tablets, they have 100% of the RDA of each b vitamin.
Is it best to take 1 of these, or two? As obviously I am taking a LOT of B5.
I have just taken them before bed, so I will start doing that.

thats all i was looking for was to be able to help someone out because I'm not any scientist lol. i just have been through all the in's and out's with b5.
To aswer your question.. Honestly i took no b-complex for the first year. I thought everything was fine but then i started relizeing i was having problems from all my defienciencies. So i researched it and come to find out i was right so i started taking it. My suggestion is to take one a day complex-100 or every other day. Or take 2 100-Complex every other day. What your trying to do is no have a defiencey so if you are steady with it you will be totally fine. But what sucks is if all your b vitamins are the same with your b5 then your not getting its effects ( YOUR MEGADOSING ON PANATOTHENIC ACID B5 ) So the more b vitamins you take the less effects you get. From my knowledge and experience i could be wrong like i said im speaking from experince.
But go ahead and look at my post its i dunno 10 pages back or something it talks about me finding out about my deficenicy.
And i feel like everyone thinks im BS about being clear from b5.

Just a few questions to yourself and anyone who feels like they can answer.
I take B5 at the moment, i take them 4 times a day.
9 in the morning - 6 pills
12 in afternoon - 6 pills
3 in afternoon - 6 pills
6 in the evening - 6 pills
In all it equates to 12Grams(24 pills at 500mg each)
The pills i use are the same as urself GNC.
Now i started these on the 20th May. Now its been 3 months and 2 week. Now about 2 weeks ago my skin got clear, not like perfect which i could only dream for, but like lil tiny things that you can see. Now after a week of this is started gettin worse, and now its kinda steady, but with the pimples. What am i doing wrong. Thanks
Maybe your not doing anything wrong, maybe it just is not working for your skin type compared to others. B5 is not a cure and does not work for all people. The 2 weeks you mentioned could have just been a time when your acne was not so bad, we all have these times irrespective of B5.
B5 has worked for me but my acne was very mild mostly back, shoulders and chest and I am 35 so the peak of my acne was long ago but the pesky hormones are still letting me know they are here lol. Maybe this is a good sign I say to myself that I am ageing slower as as my acne is still here therefore my hormonal levels and testosterone is still quite active ,some strange science I have going on here.
I only take 5-7 grams, mostly 5grams for 8 months. It is working for me without a doubt.

has anyone heard of/tried this skin b5 stuff? as far as i can tell its an australian made vitamin brand containing b5, as well as other b5 vitamins, biotin, zinc etc. its got a lot of good reviews on the website ( www.skinb5.com). im a little confused as to what the difference is between taking 4 of those tablets a day and taking about 20 tablets like what is suggested here. can anyone offer any insight?
How many grams are in each of these 4 pills? I can't find much information on that site. Seems they are out of stock too.
The general advice is to take 10grams a day 5 x 500mg tablets 4 times a day so each dose would be 2.5grams. You can get pantothenic acid powder too, cheaper and absorbed better supposedly but tastes bad. That site you posted has flavoured powder. Along with this a daily Vitamin B complex and 30 to 50mg of zinc once a day ( zinc picolinate) is better quality. Start of daily with 3 grams then increase by 1gram each day till you get to your desired dosage.
If your in the UK, eBay has plenty B5, 'NOW Pantothenic Acid 250 x 500mg' is on there and you can order the powder from the US that actually works out cheaper and lasts longer than the capsules bought in the UK.

I had the weirdest dream about B5 last night. I dreamed I started to take it and everyone was telling me it is toxic. Regardless I kept taking it, I don't remember what happened though. (My skin isn't even bad atm, just oily. Could I take less to help prevent oil?)
I ordered some a few days ago. How much does this add up to be monthly? It seems like taking 5-8 pills a day could add up fast.....

I ordered it in powder form.....have taken the capsules before but it was too damn expensive so i gave up. I dont remember it being a miracle cure but it certainly helped....it did make my pee green though...is that normal?
So onto my query.....
has anyone taken it in powdered form before and if so how?
Do i need to take more or less than with capsules?
Can i mix it with Juice or only water....how much liquid to each gram/part?
If anyone can help out i would be extremely grateful.

I take powder form and capsule.
Mix it with juice or water but it will still taste bad, maybe fresh orange juice will mask the taste better.
Powder or capsule makes no difference you just need to take whatever dosage you are taking. So say you are taking 2.5grams 4 x a day. Then you would take 5 x 500mg capsules 4 x a day. All you do with powder is take 2.5grams and mix with what you like 4 times a day. Get a good set of accurate weighing scales that weighs in .5gram to 1gram. Or go to you local chemist and ask them if they will weigh you whatever your dosage will be in some container so you know how much to take each day, chemists have very accurate professional scales.
Really makes no difference what the liquid to powder ratio is. This is just a method by which you take the powder.

Hey all..I just started taking B5 about a week ago. Started off with 3g a day, then up to 4g a day, and now I'm up to 6g a day. And guess what...face is clearing up! Now I must say that I just began Dan's Regimen last week also, but hey it's clearing up. Whether or not it is 100% from the B5, I don't know. But I'm pretty sure it's helping!
I've been on B5 for about two months now and my results are amazing. I feel like a new person! Swallowing the pills were making me sick though, I would sometimes get headaches and have an upset stomach all day. I recently started breaking open the pills on a spoon and swallowing the powder with water. Ever since, I have had NO bad side effects like before when I was swallowing 10-20 pills a day. So, if swallowing pills is making you feel sick, I recommend trying the powder form before giving up. People complain about the taste. However, I find that if you simply dump the spoon of powder on your tongue and then QUICKLY chug it down with a glass of water, you'll barely taste it at all. Don't forget to take a B-100 complex with each dose too!
