Ive been on B5 for 3 weeks and 2 days now. Seen a decrease in oil, and my acne did get better, but is now worse.  eusa_wall.gif

You should try applying topical stuff on your face. Like BP, or Tea tree oil

I was gonna say something about that too cause it was a pretty good sale, but unfortunately it ended yesterday.

btw, if you're seeing an initial breakout after 3 weeks I'd just stick with it, not that unusual and you'll probably improve.

Hi

British Guy living in Spain here, I managed to buy some tablets on Saturday here in Spain, they are called Acido Pantotenico over here.

Anyway, im 2 days in to this treatment and lo and behold they seem to be working miracles, i usually develop a huge amount of oil throughout the day and have to literally wipe off excess oil with either blotters or toilet paper but havent had to do that in 2 days now....If anything my skin has gone the complete opposite, too dry.

Now I read on this thread people having good effects after 4 or 5 days but has anybody had any effects after only 2 days?????.

I hope this just isnt a one off and this is a good sign of things to come!!

Thankyou B5!!!!............I think!

One of the insanely lucky ones who respond real well to it eh?

I have been taking over 10 grams a day for month + half now and no dice...

O and if your dry, dont worry about wrinkles.

Just moisturize, simple as that.

I tried using this before and dear god did it make things WORSE. I kept hoping it was just bringing things to the surface and being the whole "worse before it was better" but my body just did NOT like this stuff. I took the recommended amount in the study derms conducted.

They sell it in a powder form at [Removed] so can you mix it with water instead of downing like 5 pills 3 times a day. I must warn you it did more harm than good. I have NEVER seen my face as horrible as it was then. I never ever got cysts on my face other than an occasional one on my chin towards my period and the B5 made them ALL over my cheeks. I just thought I'd warn you to be careful. It does work great for some though, just not for me sadly. I really thought it would *sigh*

Well in my case, B5 is working wonderfully, I've had a major decreased in Oil production. I feel great, and i dont mind going to the bathroom twice a day to put the kids into the toiilet, i also think it makes you burn the fat more efficiently as well.

I was on dan's regimen for over a year and with about 80% success i decided to try b5. it started clearing my face a little after a week, and my skin looked 100x better in general just because i stopped kililng it with all the bp/moisturizer. i took gnc b5 pills 10g/day, then i switched to NOW powder. i also take a multivitamin which includes 50mg of all the b-complex vitamins. its been 3 weeks now, and i had a really bad breakout this weekend, mostly on my neck

i know it takes time so i'll stick with it, but the LAST thing i want to do is go back to bp...

anyone have any topical suggestions or advice?

thanks

Will B-5 work for people that have a milder acne but very dry skin?

will it make the dry skin worse, dry it out even more causing my skin to produce more oil and making my face more red and blotchy?

Any help?

Generally, B5 doesn't cause dry skin because your body regulates how much oil you metabolize (it only eliminates oil up to the optimum level for your skin).

On the previous page there was a post about Coenzyme A, and I would recommend against using that since, unlike B5, it can become toxic in high doses. Stick with B5, it's much safer (again, this way your body will regulate how much Coenzyme A to produce).

I myself would like to hear more about Pantothene though, it sounds like a good idea, but I don't know of anyone who has used it.

Of course you can still drink (thank God...). However, I've heard that alcohol may lower the effectiveness of B vitamins (and other vitamins), so you might need a higher dose if you drink regularly.

I'm currently taking in Vita Clear Supplements by Guthy Renker

It's suppose to reduce the appearance of Acne!!

It's like a multivitamin but has more mg for each vitamin in on tablet. I take one package comes in 4 tablets with each meal daily!!

So far just working 10% i guess but overall it's good for the body health.

hey guys im new to the forum, im wanting to know if anyone has tried Vilantae and if so do u need a b-complex to take with it??

i get the type of mild acne on my forhead and chin area and because i pick at it to much it leaves red and dark blemishes.. im hoping the vilantae will help in preventing the acne as ive tried everything so far. i used proavctive for ahwile and that worked great for the 1st month but then its as though my skin just became immune to it so ive brought it down to it must be the oil build up in my body that causes these breakouts..

can anyone let me know if vilantae was good/bad and what if anything was needed to be taken with it???

thanks

hi all, first time poster. i just started doing b5 too. i was intrigued by dr. leung's original article and decided to give it a shot. i get alot of clogged pores, whiteheads, pustules, few cysts, etc. also have extremely oily skin/hair, i mean its ridiculous my skin is so oily. have had acne since i was 14-15 or so (24 now), and have taken:

tetracycline

doxycycline

minocycline

erithromycin

azelex

differin

some sulfa drug, think it was septra?

accutane (twice)

so basically my skin is just oily as shit and its showing no signs of letting up as i get older, plus my skin prob doesnt exfoliate right so i always have pretty bad acne. at one point my acne was so bad, you could hardly see the skin on my face lol. its like those worst-case scenario pictures you see on medical websites illustrating a disease--that was me. but that was a long time ago, accutane cleared my up back then for about a year, and 8 years later..........

anyways, i started taking b5 2 days ago, vilantae brand, about 8-10g a day. doing it in doses of 2x500mg throughout the day so as to avoid taking a whole bunch at once and just pissing most of it out right afterwards. also taking a regular multivitamin and an omega3 fatty acid supplement. seems a lil early to say anything just yet, but i will keep everyone informed on my progress. i'd really like to see b5 do something for my super-oily skin. right after i started taking b5 i broke out pretty bad (about 10 whiteheads, 2 pustules) around my mouth/chin area but stuff like that doesnt phase me much. also noticed my lip/mouth area being rather dried out last night so this all seems consistent with what other people have reported.
