Just because Pantothenic Acid didn't work for you, doesn't mean it won't work for anyone. It worked wonders for me, and hundreds of other people.

And yeah, the powder is really the easiest way to take it, much quicker and easier than popping tons of pills.

So if I order the B5 pills, do I also need to order the vitamin B pills? Or will I do fine without them?

CJB is definitely correct. A B-50 complex is something you should be taking with B5, as it has a dendency to deplete other B vitamins if you don't suppliment them. You only need to take the B-50 once per day though.

Hello I am a new poster here, also just got some b5 about 2 weeks ago. I am excited to see a lot of people out there are posting helpful info. about acne. I tried the pro-active treatment right before i bought b5 and by the time the bottle ran out I was still breaking out and it discouraged me a bit (and its expensive). So far, i have experienced an "initial brekout" from b5 so i believe it might be working for me!

1 Question: I know 10gr is recommended, but i was wondering in what increments are people taking them? I am doing 5 pills 4 times a day. What has been the most effective for you all?

Thanks. My mom wants to talk to my dermatologist about it first. Since she has never heard of B5 before.

You should definitely take a b complex with the B5 so that your b vitamins don't get out of balance. Also, to everyone taking B5... drinking LOTS of water is VERY important. If not, you can end up with a kidney infection or kidney stones because of the extra calcium you are getting with d-calcium pantothenate (B5).

BTW, I had success with 6g of B5 for 2 months. I keep clear now taking 2g a day AND following a good diet. Avoiding wheat (unless it is sprouted) is key for me.

I am taking balanced b-100 once a day, although I have not been drinking more than 1 or 2 glasses of water a day shock.gif ! I know water is good for flushing out toxins, but I didnt think i could get an infection. Thanks for the tip CJB

I'm pretty sure this only works for people with hormonal acne. What vitamin B5 does is it helps aid the body imporve against stress resistance. This means that it controls the oil glands that are being controlled by hormones. This causes the oil glands to swell which produces acne. That is why teens suffer from acne, hormones control the oil glands. They swell when they get hormonal swings or stress swings. Stress also contorls the oil glands. So whatever you hear that stress isn't a factor IT IS! B5 gets the body ready to battle stress and hormones, it is reccomended that you take 20mg of it a day, but since you guys are overdosing on it is why it is going away so much faster. Even if you take the reccomended 20mg daily, it will help considerably but over a longer period of time. This is of course only if your acne is caused by hormones. If you really do have acne based on other factors this probably won't work. Its not going to directly effect the oil glands, it is going to effect the hormones controlling the oil glands. Just keep this in mind. Also I really don't feel that overdosing on anything is a good idea. Your body can only take so much. I'm assumign the peopel who this worked for are adults and their bodies can take much more than teenagers bodies can. I would double check with a doctor if you are a teenager before doing this.

Yeah, Pro-activ didn't work wonders for me, but it did do some help. I'm not taking B5, I drink a drink I found at Stop and Shop with B5 in it, but it only has 10mg and not 10g. It still gives me the side effects though, urgggg =/ Thats the only bad thing, I was in the bathroom for a while. It also has all the other B vitamins that you need like B6, B3 and some other ones. It tastes really really good too. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone currently overdosing on B% maybe someone who is skeptical like I am about taking it in such high doses, should try it. Its called Fuze, its a pretty big bottle. Don't drink it too fast like I did though, it left me with a bad stomach ache as well as having to go to the bathroom a few times and they weren't pretty visits. if this is only what its like to take 10mg, I'd hate to imagine how bad it is when you take 10g.

Is it manditory to take a b complex vitamin with it? If so what kind and how many times a day? If only once, at day or at night? If so What one? B25-, B50- or B100-complex? What are the differences?

What is the difference between the 3? Will one flush out all the B5 and make it useless?

Thanks for sharing CJB.

Thats good to hear.

Only 6 grams?....nice.

Was that your maximum dose?

Have you come down in dosage even more now for a maintenance dose?

Like to the 1.5 - 2 grams a day.

Thanks

I am currently taking 10gr a day. I was wondering if anyone smokes cigarettes and takes b5, because i just started again about 3 days ago and ive had diarrhea ever since... I dont think this is healthy confused.gif. I dont know how the cigarettes would do this but im going to quit again to see if thats the problem. Before i started smoking i didnt have this problem and i still took 10gr a day. If anyone has any ideas PLEASE RESPOND!

Im thinking maybe i should lower my dosage i dont know.

Hey guys.

I've been reading about this B5 stuff and don't really have enough information on it, although i am very interested and curious about it.

i read the first post and i'm just wondering, why do you have to take ten pills in the first three days? That just seems like a lot to put in your body at one time?

Does this stuff really work? How long have you people been taking it and how many pills/mg do you take per day?

I have been using the neosporin cream on my face for three days now. Just fascinated by other things people do for clear skin. (Maybe even a lil' obsessed about it ? sad.gif

Wish I wasn't but hell, when u've had acne as long as i have, every remedy starts to sound good.

Please answer my questions. Thanks!

Campfitnfun, I'm on my 2nd day, will finish it when I go to bed, I hope it works. You take 10 so your body can get use to the intake, remember it's 10 of 500mg or 5 1000mg. After you take 20 500mg pills or 10 1000mg pills after you're use to it. I hope this works. Do you have redmarks or active acne or both?
