NdnRomeo, how many grams are you up to now? Also, i'm trying to space out all my pills so my green tea extract doesn't interfere with the fish oil. i've been waiting 4 hours in between but the problem is sometimes it comes time to take the fish oil and i've just eaten like 2 hours ago. so my question is do think it works better with a meal or can you still take the pills an hour or 2 afterwards (not on empty stomach though).
update for me, i'm up to 3.6 grams now if i did the math right. 450mg of EPA/DHA in a pill and i'm taking 8 a day now. my skin starts to do better and then a few days later i break out in little zits. like right now my target areas are my temples and my chin. i cant figure out why i'm breaking out on my temples, maybe overbrushing with baby brush?? chin i figure to be hormonal. i noticed since it's getting warmer here an increase in oil production which (i can almost pinpoint exact time) starts at like 1-2pm. is there anything i can do to decrease this? i believe this is why i'm still breaking out. maybe up my B5 intake? (only taking 1.5g currently).

If I were you I wouldn't be taking green tea along with the fish oil. None of us really know the exact correlation or even if taking them 4 hours apart make a difference or not. I learned this the hard way by getting overzealous and taking lots of supplements, but it's really not worth the risk.

I think you should put green tea on the side, like chung says above me. Once we stopped, it got better. I wasted 7 weeks with it, but it's true :(. It blocks absorption, which is not cool.
I'm varrying daily, but it's between 3.6 to 4.5 right now (somewhere in that range). For our hormones, it will still take longer, even I'm not there yet but I am getting there because the KP on my arm is making progressive progress. Now it's all flat, I only have blemishes on my arm and 1 or 2 dried spots. No inflamed ones at all and hair seems to be functioning properly and growing out on it's own heh.
I still break out too, but now it's minor, but I am giving this a full 6 months since the progress is slow, but noticable every 2 weeks. It's also because of all the things I keep experimenting with on the side so don't lose heart, my oil production keeps getting less and less. Hormones are like a big train engine that take forever to stop with a rope and a cowboy (lol).
I believe the more out of wack our hormones are, the longer it will take to fully work. Some people only need so little and their body responds great, some people take 3 weeks, some months. It's all such a pain in the ass!

I recommend you try a little ACV, at least topically if not drinking it. You said your having trouble with little breakouts and ACV helps with that pretty dramatically for most people. And you should really just give drinking it a small shot...just throw a tspn in a glass of water at some point in your day and see what it does for you.
Hi NdnRomeo,
I'm now a full week in, taking 1.5g daily. I'm already seeing real progress, but I do not know if it is because of the omega-3 fish oil, because I also added an AHA moisterizer to my BP regimen at the same time. Either way, at least one of these new things is working, and I don't plan on stopping either.
Should I stick with 1.5g a day for now, or should I be increasing my daily dosage? I'm a big guy -nearly 200 pounds.
Well, I'm back to taking fish oil again after that momentary scare (I tried out the bite test and only tasted lemon and not much else.........my pills are lemon-flavored), and today I bought myself a multivitamin (GNC's Mega Men). Would taking this multi-vitamin interfere with my fish oil intake in any way (I have to take it twice a day)??? On another note..........these multi-vitamin pills smell REALLY, REALLY good. So much that I'm tempted to just pop 5 or 6. Man they smell good............just kidding of course. Here's the GNC page on them:

Definitely increase 🙂 If you see progress already, chances are you're responding excellently. Get between 2 to 3 grams this week. The next week, go above 3 and stay there. I hope this brings you success. Keep posting back and let us know how you are doing!

Nope 🙂 Multi's are fine to take with fish oil. I haven't tried mega men's but heard nothing but good about them!
I'm glad they turned out okay, but wasn't surprised since GNC always ensures quality, that's why they are priced at that level ;). Good quality and convenience you can depend on. =)
Sounds like it may be too early for me to tell but I think the fish oil thing is helping out.
I've been taking 4800 mg fish oil daily (about 1.5 grams O3) for about two weeks now.
I'll keep you guys posted.
i typically avg between .4 and .7 pimples a day and within the last week Ive had maybe two really small pimples come out.
---
additional info
about 2-5 days into the fish oil trial my skin looked like garbage but Its all healed up now.
*I decided to try the fish oil thing because my skin showed signs of improvement in the days following eating fish this last spring.

Congratulations, those are actually very good signs, it definitely starts out that way, so good luck!
Hey how much does the fish oil you guys use cost?about 20 or so for 400
So US$20 for 400 pills? How much omega-3 in one pill?
300 mg 🙂
they say you are what you eat, but i think it more a case of, you are what you absorb, and my digestive system is not absorbing very well. anything additional that i can do to optimize the absorbtion of O3, apart from taking it with milk or other fats. i think the O3 is not working as well as it should because of the malabsorption. yesterday i upped my dose to 6g of O3 and i do believe that my skin behaved a bit better today. what about digestive enzymes, will that help?
Romeo, I see your experimenting with taking the fish oil pills an hour after you eat a meal. This will be kind of hard for me to schedule if this turns out to be the best method. How much of a difference do you think this will make?
One of the reasons I am doing that is so I can let me food settle and absorb properly without water's interference. It's alright if you cannot do that, as long as you take it with your meal, it will absorb 🙂 As long as you are taking it, that is the most important, for sure.

thanks for the reply. i didn't take any green tea today. mostly because i couldn't find time to squeeze it in cause it would interfere with my fish oil consumption.
i splashed some water on my face today just cause oil was bothering me so much but normally i do nothing. not sure what to do but it seems to get worse every day with the warming weather.

i started drinking this again last night. i'm staying at my aunt's house tonight, not sure if she has any acv at hand. i feel kind of silly asking for it lol. i think i'll try using it as a toner when my face gets really oily too. hopefully that'll help.

I used to feel that way too, then I really sat and analyzed it. First remember that o3 will take 3 months + to full build. How long have you been taking it so far?
Also, list out your diet.
Next, when you are actually eating, how much are you actually chewing to ensure your body absorbs what you are eating? That could be your problem. I think it was mine as well.
Check out this thread:

It may be worth considering.
If that doesn't work, you can try taking digestive enzymes. the NOW brand sells them 180 tablets of potent digestive enzymes. It's about $11. But remember, we are young so we usually have a good system, as opposed to the elderly. So try this first, self diagnosis is often dangerous and I almost fell for it.
But you are so right about: "they say you are what you eat, but i think it more a case of, you are what you absorb"
I had that thought today too, exactly. More so: we always worry about what we are eating, why aren't we worried about how much of it is actually being used and how to increase the efficiency? It would be a waste of money otherwise :).
One other thing you can do to increase absorption of o3 is to eat it with sat fats. A good snack you may want to eat, go for it. It will help more, even though each pill does contain some.
Hope that helps!
do u have to take fish oils pills with food? or does it not matter?
It's up to you, it's good that they contain sat fat in each pill to aid in digestion, but it would probably help absorb better taken with food. I don't have a clear cut answer, but these are the pros and cons of each. It should be fine on it's own, so don't be too concerned.
just bought some high strength fish oil,it contains 300mg epa and 200 dha,so does that mean it contains 0.5g of omega 3 and to achieve 3g i should be taking 6??is this how it works out??
Yes sir, you got it 🙂
Ok..so far been 5 days and I am now taking 3g of omega 3 daily (started at 1g daily). Next week im cranking up to 4g. Face wise..i received a few random whiteheads on the face but they're not that painful or anything. Could be from the omega 3 or could be because i switched overnight from baking soda, bp wash and witch hazel to now just exfoliating with the baby brush and then washing with Dove soap. Oil production is less for sure.
NdnReomeo...
Quick question. Do you ever feel light headed after taking Fish Oil Pills?
I read somewhere in this thread that Omega 3 works almost instantly on blood pressure. I've noticed I have been getting this hazy light headed feeling lately. Could this be the Fish Oils? Is this something I should be concerned about?
I upped my dose over time. Starting from just one 300mg pill a day to what I'm currently taking now which is around 3'8grams. This increase took me about 2 weeks.
Anyone else here get a similar feeling?

Sacto, yes!!
Well let me elaborate. Somewhere in the midst of this thread I decided to bump up my daily dosage to 3 grams. And not only that, I wanted to split it 2x a day, meaning I took 1.5 grams in one go (5 pills at a time), when I was used to 2.
Fast forward 3 hours later, I became SO light headed that I felt like I was going to faint. I checked my BP and it was pretty low.
That's why I always suggest people to up 1 gram/week instead of so fast. So lower it and go up sloowwllyy. Remember, results will come, just go slow :). And don't worry, the dizziness will be temp, and it's not serious, so just go lower, and spread it out more through the day. I do 4x a day or 3. But now my body can handle 5 pills at a time if I chose, before I never could.
Good luck!
I've tasted fish two days in a row after a burp. It's after my second omega 3 intake of the day. Nothing too worrying, but can someone explain it? lol
Try this 🙂
"Test your fish oil capsules by biting into one. It should taste fresh and mildly fishy. If it tastes bad or strong, throw them away and don't buy that brand again."
Normally it's because you are not digesting the fish oil, that's what happens for some reason. It may self adjust. Do the rancid test to be sure you are fine. 🙂
NdnRomeo,Thanks again for responding so quick. I feel better knowing that its nothing to worry about.
Besides, it's sort of like a natural high. So it's not too bad. Hahaha...
lol no problem 🙂 I won't leave this place so you can ask as many questions as you like.
And yes, that's also one of the reasons I am glad I got to experiment with this from the high points to the lows, so I can tell everyone from personal experience about what mistakes not to make at my expense.
