I have a question for all of you:What brands have you used, or are using? I want to find the "safe list" of brands to use
Buy NSI (brand from Vitacost.com). The positive feedback/reviews are growing in #. The combined EPA & DHA are higher per pill. The safety of their fish oil can be verified at http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Mega-EFA-Omega-3-EPA-DHA .

Ah very nice! I just checked it out and saw one thing
It's 120 pills. But each serving = 2 pills.
Contains optimal levels of omega-3 EFA's, EPA and DHA, together in two easy-to-take softgels.
So split the reading on the label in half for each pill brings you to:
600 omega 6 from epa and dha and 140 of another, which is still pretty good!
Nice find, thanks!

I bought 3 bottles of the 240 instead of the 120 that you saw linked on the website. If I don't like it, I can always return it within 30 days as long as only one of the bottles are opened. I returned B5 pills last time and they didn't give me any trouble with the return. :surprised:

That's a great deal, nice customer satisfaction!
How is your diet like? And also, how long have you been doing it. Definitely up it to 10 if you can for the spring break, that is what I am doing. Focusing on my skin this week, hardcore. No slip ups.omega 3's in, omega 6's out
hehe
This is my 3rd week now. My diet isn't perfect, its not bad though...I make a point not to eat anything like nuts that I know are high in O6 and try not to eat too much of anything that would throw the scale off balance. Honestly, I haven't dont calculations to make it exactly 1 to 1, im just trying to watch what I eat and take in the pills.
My face has improved quit a bit in the last two days...I upped it to 10 too. Ive been focusing on my skin, but I really haven't een staying at home or anything, in fact i was at the gym or with friends all of the last 3 days, and no breakout, so thats nice. So if im still doing good by this weekend, ill really be feelin good about this.

Bad ass! Yeah, upping to 10 is a great idea to start, since we're so depleted of omega 3's that putting 10 in for a month will only get us back to "normal" within a month, then using smaller doses for "maintenance" I noticed that too. Once I started 10, the process speeds up to get to normal. Once you're at normal, things are on cruise control.
Good luck, keep us posted.
And yeah, don't worry too much about the diet, because we all have lives to live, just try your best and get in 10 if possible. It should all work out in the end 🙂
Eek, I don't feel so good. I took 5 this morning since I was thinking of splitting 5 and 5, but that's a horrible idea. I feel really nautious, with an upset stomach and i feel woozy a little. My diet is still the same so no difference there or anything else in the past month.
I just checked my blood pressure and it's 96 over 64 and that is way too low and dangerous!!
I don't need this much omega 3, it really does thin the blood. I'm going to immediately stop for a while, till it rises again, and then cautiously put it back in. Taking more than necessary is not advisable, now I know, it puts your health at risk, severely.
So a warning to everyone, check out how low your blood pressure is, it should NOT be this low. Normal is 120 over 80.
I feel really dizzy right now, I underestimated the potenency and power of fish oil. I hope it wears off soon.
So just letting you all know, be cautious, check your blood pressure, if you feel dizzy or start getting an upset stomach, you are taking too much.
^Yeah, you should probably stop if you feel disorientated.
I'm actually taking 6 grams/capsules a day (1800g EPA/DHA)
and 2-3 teaspoons of liquid (2000-3000g EPA/DHA). This
probably isn't safe in the long run, but I don't feel anything
different. No disorientation or dizziness. My oil production seems
to be the same, but seems less viscous (or maybe I just want to
see it that way :\ ). Guess I'll cut down my consumption to just the
liquid.

That is a lot of omega 3. 4 to 5 grams worth. And I know you can't be getting that much omega 6 from diet if you eat clean.
And yeah, just be careful, you'll know, believe me... it feels really bad. Check your blood pressure too, and be sure you don't have to take that much omega 3 by cutting out lots of oemga 6 from your diet. I think we may be just going crazy, even at moderate levels we will get full benefits within 2 months, I know I already am anyway at week 4, it's stupid that I have upped it that much. That means my balance has been more than normalized, it's way over on the other end... i'll keep a tab on my Blood pressure as well.
I found a statement that's pretty interesting
The American Heart Association recommends just two to three servings of fatty fish per week -- reckon a serving as 3 to 4 ounces, an amount that provides a total of about 3,000 milligrams (3 grams) of EPA and DHA -- to reap most of the health benefits.

well at least we all know we're still getting our optimal benefits no matter what!
I just resisted the urge to eat the yolk part of my hard boiled
egg. But that's only a small part of my diet. I'm asian, and most
of the foods that I eat are either not listed on the nutrition data
sheet or are prepared in a method where an unknown amount
of oil is used (since my parents do the cooking). But I guess if
I was truly passionate about this, I would prepare my own meals,
following a diet with low omega6s religiously, but I can only see
myself doing that when I move out, which isn't for several years :\
Hey I just had my blood pressure checked. It came up a little up surprisingly. 136 with 70.
that is really strange, take it a few times, see if it's maybe the way you were sitting or maybe rest for about two minutes and try again, they sometimes fluctuate for silly reasons?

Hey I'm asian too! Well, indian asian, hence the term for "lentils and wheat bread" for the dinner part, hah! But I always eat little during dinner so I am fine there.
By the way, I am better already, I ate food and it subsided, my blood pressure went a bit higher, not too low anymore. Don't feel dizzy either.

Lol that's too dangerous? Wow I just took mine and it was 96 over 66. That's a lot higher than normal for me. And i've been taking 3 fish oil pills a day for a week or so now.I'mworriedtotakeanymorethanthatbecauseIdon'twanttogetfatfromthem.

Yes, it's a dangerous level to be at for a normal person.
Under 90 over 60 is dangerous, very. So you're close... If that's normal for you, you should get that checked up. Under 90 over 60 is Hypo-tension
What was it without fish oil? I hope it isn't related. Because I doubt 3 pills can do that?

Last time I had it checked before I started fish oil it was around 78 over 60. I've been to the doctor, and they always comment that my blood pressure is low. But they've done blood work to see if I was anemic or had hypo or is it hyper-thyroidism and I don't. They just said my blood pressure is naturally low.

That is wild! I felt like I was about to pass out. You don't ever feel dizzy at all or weak? That is pretty rare too! I'm glad the doctors say your fine 🙂 That makes me happy
I eat chicken or turkey for meat, in the form of slices, like for sandwiches. Maybe 6 slices a day. I eat a bowl of all bran for breakfast. I snack on frozen fruit throughout the day and carrots. I drink a small glass of kefir. And that's about it.
That's pretty healthy, but since I know nothing about blood pressure in that sense, I won't know =(. So maybe the doc was right, it's natural? But that can't be. I'm surprised he never gave you anything to make it go a bit higher if you were feeling dizzy you know?

Its unlikely that fish oil supplementation will make you fat. Even if you take 10 pills of 1g thats still only 90 calories.

Well if they gave me medicine to make my blood pressure higher, it would probably be really bad for my rosacea.
i found probably the only nut out there which doesnt have high levels of omega 6, the chest nut.
Btw are there any cereals at all which are low gi but also dont have massive amounts or omega 6.
( the whole fish oil thing has worked for me btw in one week ive gone from have 20 pimples to having one tiny one, no oily skin and les and les blackheads.)
I just got a bottle of Nutrilite Salmom Omega-3 softgels. 120 softgels inside.
One softgel has:
d-Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - 30 i.u
Salmon Oil - 1030.5mg
~ 1030.5mg of Salmon Oil contains:
- EPA - 180mg
- DHA - 120mg
Is this ok? How many should I take each day?
BTW, I'd say I eat fish 4-5 times a week. Most of the time it's fried. I don't eat cereals but I do eat rice everyday... not that it contains omega-3...
