Farmed salmon has 2 grams o3 per 3 ozswild salmon has 3 grams o3 per 3ozs
Well thats a lot better than I thought and would be worth it, it probably depends upon the farm too, could be some variation. I think you really have to love salmon though, seems like quite an undertaking!
Another update from my side to keep a tab on what's going on:
We usually produce the most oil from stress and irritation. I have been stressed out last night, I slept at 3 am studying for my accounting midterm for 4 hours. And I had about 4 hours or so of sleep, so I could get up early because I still had some left to do. I got up, and went to school after showering etc.
I usually produce plenty of oil, but I said I wouldn't blot my face and just see how things go. So during the day, you can usually feel yourself starting to produce sebum, it's a really gross feeling, I am sure you all know this. Often, I'd panic and get conscious and worried since it's very visible and that if I don't get a chance to blot, I am dead because I'll get a zit somewhere.
But I held back since my skin still felt dry. That was the strange part, somewhat tight, but not dry at all, but not oily. I put my finger on the bridge of my nose and went lower. Usually there's an oil slick that my finger glides over. After 6 hours, it still felt that way, no oil slick! But I knew I produced lots of oil from the stress, especially during the test, and lack of sleep etc. What had happened was, the oil is actually nourishing my skin like a moisturizer, instead of sitting on top of the skin like really thick viscous oil does, waiting for it to clog your pores.
But the best part is, even though the sebum wasn't any less, but just the fact that is actually HELPS and moisturizes your face and not HURTS you by clogging skin is the best part about this! That was such a great feeling!
We always try to focus on lowering our oil production, instead of changing the properties of it by regulating how it's naturally supposed to be. Now I know why they say if you have oily skin you'll look younger longer, since it acts like a moisturizer in it's natural form.
Almost like I'm producing a form of cetaphil from my body or something now
So go on oil, make your bad self produce more, I love it. The right amount gives you this healthy glow without a nasty sheen from thick oil.
That is all I'm happy, spring break it here, fish oil is almost in it's 4th week, my diet is super sexy, it's looking up! Really happy.
Autonomous, have you looked into canned salmon at all? I like it for a snack, spread on WW crackers, quite tasty. Not dinner tasty, but definitely snack worthy. I buy the Double-Q Wild Alaska Pink Salmon - wild caught, 1040 mg o3 per serving, 2006 best taste winner, $1.50 for a 14.75 oz can.I have to agree with you on the cherries though, wtf?? I LOVEE cherries, favorite fruit!
This sounds kinda odd but i eat cherries with a brick of cream cheese(well i used to), its a really good combination.
Although lots of saturated fat in cream cheese and i stopped eating dairy too, maybe someday after i get this acne under complete control i cant eat this again.Cant wait.

Not at all! My birthday cake every year is actually cheese cake w/cherry (real not the crap corn syrup sauce) topping. And I may have a 5 lb block of cream cheese in the fridge
My diet is your average american college kids' typical bad food: usually on the run, never at the same time every day, fast food far too often, etc etc. I've tried to change but its so hard!
uhoh =( I used to do that, wendy's at college, eggs at home, chicken here, this there, french fries everywhere :doubt:
But I told myself that if I don't stop, I'll still have zits. So since I started this omega 3 6 balancing act, I had to get strict otherwise taking these pills would have been almost pointless to stop acne.
Oh and exercising a lot is great too!
or you could buy the liquid...two teaspoons of this stuff gives you 3000 mg of epa+dha, which is what is found in 10 generic fish oil capsules. How does it taste?
I like how there are even recommendations on the page for giving to your pets.
it tastes ok..its not thick like flax oil. its much more watery and lemon flavored.

Omg you're making my hungry  cheescakkeee. Especially cheescake factory cheescake. With 500 cal/serving. YUM
😆
how come no one here just eats fish? fish is one of the healthiest foods ever. my mom is a fish lover (grew up by the sea) so i eat it about 5 times a week. i know a lot of ppl don't like fish, but i find it soooo tasty.I do! Especially salmon. Mmmmmm, no seasoning even needed. The great thing about salmon is that its a smaller fish so its mercury levels are supposedly pretty low too and its just loaded with omega-3. It is expensive though. Normally, I pay $8.99 for 12 ounces ($12/lb) of frozen fillets. Last week, there was a sale for $7.99 so I stocked up with 5 bags of these, the checkout lady gave me a weird look.
The deal with mercury is how predatory the fish is because it builds up through the food chain. For that reason, sardines are a good option for an oily fish low

Thanks for the update. While everyone's talking about weird food combos, the reason why I asked is I'm thinking about dipping all the nuts I eat in fish oil, or even eating them with a spoon almost like cereal in milk, but nuts in oil. I just love nuts, but they really throw my 3:6 ratios way out of whack more than anything. I actually was doing this with flaxseed oil, raw unsalted nuts in flaxseed oil, it actually was kinda good. The problem is I'm pretty sure ground flaxseed has been giving me headaches for some odd reason so I've stayed away from anything flax since.

Haha, I loved them too. Get this, my diet was mainly eggs, nuts, wendy's for lunch and milk and some whole wheat stuff.
Yeah. Calculate that ratio, and it's pathetic!
I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm having great results with fish oil. I'm now in my third week, and I started noticing a difference this past week. I only got one pimple...which is wierd because my period is coming soon. Past breakouts are healing faster, and red marks are fading faster than usual. I'm still oily, but it's a different type of oily....it's less thick and sticky.
I'm still trying my best not to eat wheat or dairy, but I have cheated a couple of times this week when I ate a sandwhich with cheese in it and had a small chocolate bar. We'll see if I react to that. Other than that, I eat a ton of fruit and veggies, chicken, salmon and other white fish (sole, basa), soups and salads.
I'm taking fish oil liquid from Webbers Naturals. It also has vitamin A & D added and is orange flavoured, so it's not so bad.

Amazing! I'm proud of you 🙂
That's exactly what happened to me! Wait till the end of week 3, it gets better.
And yes, it's less thick and sticky, first thing I noticed! Soon it will dissapear into your skin and just feel like it's meant to be there instead.
Keep on posting updates when you can!

Oh yay! Keep me posted on how the whole pms/period break out goes. I've been wondering about that, that damned breakout can set me back weeks!
oh my gosh.
my first day taking 8 pills and i FEEL the difference. on my face
and apparently, the cause of my acne was hormone imbalances. like SEVERE hormone imbalances (wouldn't have my period for months) and with enough exercise with the combination of omega3's, it's supposed to balance it out naturally.
i can't wait to see what the results are like in a month.

What's your diet like? Post it up!
One month? Psh, 2 weeks!
I started out with just 3, and a crappy diet, then I changed all that 1 and a half weeks in. So I should already be much better by now, if I had done perfect, but I learned as the thread went on instead.
So good luck! Keep us posted, we need to spread the word to everyone and make it practical. It will help majorly

I must say, you girls have it hard with the periods and the effects and mood swing! I'm really glad I don't get it, phew! 😆

Yes, but they don't have to put a razor to their face every morning either! That doesn't help our skin much...

I'm ahead of you there too 🙂
When I first started getting acne, I couldn't shave anymore, it hurt too much and I couldn't stand looking in the mirror with the bleeding skin, acne, and half assed cut hair.
This has made a world of difference, especially at the closest setting, it just looks like stubble. If you can pull it off, try it out =)
Wow, I just made another improvement. I know it sounds awfully strange, but I started taking something else in conjunction with fish oil and it's almost the perfect cure. It sounds crazy right now but I'll make another thread on it soon. Keep watch, it's also cheaper than fish oil but together produce astounding results. It has just as much scientific data and actual results from people.
Who knew acne was so easy to stop all along

I actually have one of those and tried the stubble look for a little while, I don't know just wasn't right for me.
