I'd just like to drop in and say that my 7g per day omega 3 from CLO is going well. I've been doing it for almost three weeks now and i have seen a difference on my back especially. Coincidence or not i feel my skin has been improving lately even tho i have been eating a lot more calories than usual.

I'll drop in and say once switched to 6.2g CLO(2.7 EPA/DHA)/NORMAL Fish Oil(3.5g EPA/DHA) There was a very noticable difference... I also took my pantethine down to 900mg. Will post back in a while.

Hey,

I haven't been on this thread in a while. But I was thinking of switching to liquid form of fish oil and thought I would check things out here:) Anyways, after reading last 3 pages on here. I am thinking of trying out cod liver oil. Seems to be better coz I would still get the omegas but in addition I would get vitamin a and d. is that the reason some of u on here are switching to cod liver oil instead of just fish oil?

what do you guys think of this product: http://www.vitaminexplorer.com/detail.aspx?ID=631

this is the cheapest I found. Only $5.37. This is about 24 servings in that bottle if I take 3 teaspoons a day. The 3 teaspoons would equal to: Omega 3-2.769 grams, Vitamin A-13,845 IU, Vitamin D-1386 IU

Correct, switching due to a few reasons. Vitamin A content was one of them, but not just any vitamin a, otherwise I could have easily eaten lots of carrots or taken a syntethic vitamin A supplement. But the reaoson being is cod liver oil has THE most amount of retinol, and retinol is really good for sebum, keratin regulation and skin moisture content. Also because liquids do not come with those nasty soy fillers. 🙂

That is the exact brand I use. I get it for about $9 at 72 servings at whole foods. And you're right, that is exactly how much omega 3 and vit a and d it will equal to. In a week you should notice a direct improvement of the moisture level of your skin. You should be much better hydrated.

Also note it is important to take it with zinc, they work together very well. Because zinc regulates retinol content of the skin, it transports retinol from the liver to the skin efficiently. Something along those lines, I have the links somewhere to that information.

Very interesting. I took my first one yesterday since I heard that it's in general good for the body so I really hope to see results from this.

I don't know if it is just what I have(from Trader Joe's), but the pills are huge. But they go down easily enough.

In my case i just take a tablespoon measure (little plastic bucket spoon thing) and down it. Barely tastes of anything and it ain't bad what little taste there is.

Even tho you can't mix oil and water (in normal situations) if you added it to some water it still dilutes the taste but much better to take it neat and rinse down with some water.

The CLO in combination should have a greater effect. Reason being is because zinc is beneficial for the retinol. and the o3, saw, and zinc work synergetically as well. Let's hope for the best!

I think I may order some Kirkland (Costo brand) pills. I've gotten over the whole pill  thing...

I was reading that it is best to keep these refrigerated. Is this true about the pills? What if they are in a dark, cool place?

Also, I was wondering how long they normally last. Because I was thinking about buying a 400 pack :) and dont want them to go bad half way through the bottle.

Also, my pills now are lemon flavor... wtf haha maybye the coating is lemony, idk but after I take them, my burps are lemony (yea gross, just a weird discovery)

Thanks, you guys (and gals) have been a huge help

Refrigerated is probably best, pill, liquid or otherwise. Just to be safe.

I would say 2-3 months is a decent timeframe to use your oils. That is the general guideline printed on most bottles I have seen.

How many would you think you would take? If you take 10 a day (3 grams of O-3) than that bottle would last 40 days which would be perfect. That 3 gram mark seems to be the4 most common "zone" for fish oil it seems.

Ask them to cancel the order or ask for a return if possible.

If not then try it out, it may not harm you, it's just for some people soy bean oil can adversely affect their skin, but not everyone.

Yes you still get the fillers, that's what it mixes with.

It tastes mild, not very strong cherry, but the good news is it does not taste like fish at all, almost like no flavored oil, I know that's hard to explain but it tastes almost like nothing because it's that fresh. Pretty cool huh?

For two days now I got two small zits that came to head and are healed basically except for marks, no other "active ones." I didn't get any new breakouts this morning, maybe later in the day, dono, whats also weird is this is the first time I didn't sleep on the side of my face in over a year, somehow I slept on my back all night. I had a 5 zit break out last week from something I ate. Been good with the diet. Whats interesting to add for some people is that if you take pantethine, I think you can get away with eating a high fat meat/grain plate once and a while, since it helps break down those fatty acids? Either way I changed a bunch of normal irritant things too, in conjunction and my face feels better. Whats also interesting is it got to over a 100 degrees where I live in SoCal and I usually breakout like mad, but the fish oil with a moisturizer must be keeping me moisturized. Weird..

Very cool. 🙂

I'm picking some on up my way home from work. Is there any way I can carry it around? For when I go out and such. It's pretty simple with the capsules, but liquid doesn't really give us that luxury. 😀

Sadly it cannot be carried out, unless you want to put an ice box in your car or work haha. But once a morning and night should be plenty I am assuming. do 1 and a half teaspoon morning and 1 and a half at night 🙂 If that suits you better.
