I'm tired of being depressed

So I have had acne for almost 10 years now.  Like many others I have tired everything( well not accutane because I'm afraid of the side effects).  The worst part of it,  is that not only do I have it on my face but also my chest and back. I'm just so tired and depressed,  it has got to the point where I don't want to live anymore.  Nobody understands me. When I talk to family or friends they all say "it will go away by itself just wait" or " don't be sad there are people who have it worse than you, people die of cancer or they don't have any food". This doesn't help! They don't understand,  they think I'm selfish. But why should I compare my misery to others. It is not the same! I just want to stop crying over my skin. I want to stop thinking about it all the time. I can't even watch TV, because I see girls with perfect skin and I almost cry. My low self-esteem has ruined my life. I don't know what to do anymore. Is there anyone here who have the same feelings as me? What did you do to not feel so depressed?  :(

If you've tried everything, accutane is definitely an option. I think the horror stories are put on blast because majority of the people who go on accutane have their acne cleared and never return to these forums. Meanwhile, the ones that do have unwanted effects, come back and cause all the controversy. Yes, accutane is linked with some really scary side effects, but all of them are very rare. The chances of you getting them are so slim, I honestly would take that chance if acne were affecting you to this extent.

My suggestion is to do more research on accutane, youtube all the success stories, 90% of these people would recommend it and say they would jump back on it in an instant.

Edit: What specific side effects are you scared of in particular? Also, check out my accutane log, I've been on it for ~40 days on a low dose of 20mg/day and only side effects I get are dry lips and mild lower back pain when in the gym. Skin is improving pretty nicely and I'm not even on a full dose, so happy that I made the jump to get on it.

Cannabis will help y

but you have to know how to medicate properly and avoid bad food. If I didn't have weed I would of definitely killed myself years ago. Stay away from prescription drugs and eat lots of carrots and other health foods . That cure acne naturally. The weed will help with the depression though . Just laugh and don't take life so seriously. If you try and just forget that you have acne and leave it alone and not excessively wash it or worry about it. Keep your stress levels low with lots of sex as well. Or sports. You will be good.

Thank you guys very much. I was just so tired of my negative thoughts. I think that is why I am very scared of the side effects, because I always say what if I get these side effects? Then I will live with another problem than just acne. I was very scared when I read about people who got IBD or chron's disease from accutane, although it is very rare. I think I should change my way of thinking it is not very healthy. That is why I wrote my post, cause I knew at least someone will understand me. Maybe I should try to consider accutane and check the positive reviews of it instead of the negative ones.

Thats a great idea, read both ends but don™t overthink the negatives. Majority of the population has had great results with Accutane, statistically speaking you are in a good place. Best of luck :)
