I'm hugh and im 19 (almost 20) and i've moderate-ish acne since i was around 17-18 which may leave some scars on one side of my face.

I've been shy around strangers ever since i was a kid long before acne came around, but as since my acne stared to get pretty bad I can no longer look ANYONE in the eyes not even my mum or close relatives.

I'm an only child too and that makes having acne even worse, which mother wants her only son to be an acne riddled loner who's never even had sex at 19-20 years old.

I feel depressed sometimes then I listen to music or distract myself by other means only to remember that i've still got bad acne then I fall back into depression.

I'm 17 and it only started a few months ago when I was getting my new Visa at a bank. The guy who was helping me had flawless skin and I couldn't look him in the eyes because I was embarrassed and ashamed of the quality of my skin that day, the second time was at somebody's office and that was horrible because I kept looking out the window or looking down at the paperwork instead of looking in the guys eyes and paying attention. I absolutely hate being in public because I feel like a spotlight is shining on my skin and I try not to look at people's face when I'm walking past them or if they're in front of me. I don't feel much of that if I'm walking around my neighbourhood or if I'm down at the corner store but it's more so when I'm down town shopping. I hate living with this monstrous face

I'm the same way. I don't even like to get close to anybody bc my face is so disgusting. I had an interview today I cancelled bc my acne got worse. I barely leave the house anymore. It's depressing.

I think about this because I know I do it too (sometimes because that's just the way I am and sometimes because I am self conscious of my acne) and know that I should rectify this lack of eye contact.

Well, someone you are interacting with will see your face whether you give eye contact or not, right? So, might as well try to give some eye contact and a smile ;D . I bet showing that little bit of confidence will help overshadow acne. I feel the lack of eye contact/confidence may make the acne stand out more.
