And i'm not just talking physically but psychologically too, take for example the fact that within this decade we will have virtual reality. along with all the goodies it bring, i just imagine guy's we could be somebody else meet people without fearing anything, because your virtual self wont have acne =). i can see it now many of us will finally be getting that need for interaction, how cool would it be if we made like a vr lobby of the org where we could all just sit there and talk about out experiences as if it was a live intervention. virtual reality is the biggest reason why i'm even optimistic of the future, some of you may be laughing at this but think about vr can be a real life saver for people like us and not just us but other people who've never known how it feels to just be accepted the way they are. once it's possible i plan on going back to hs in vr anyway lol i'll be the most popular =D. Also the treatment of acne really is still very primitive, imagine how much more effective it will be when you have medicine that is custom tailored for you! From what i'm hearing this will be possible in a few years, just imagine what other fantastic treatment we'll have in just a handful of years. they may even be able to make it as if you never had anything, how amazing would that be! so my advise is to hang in there just a while longer before you know it this will be a different world, with the promises of high tech. i'm sure major breakthrough's in acne treatment will follow. me personal guess i'm giving it between the next four to seven years, maybe even sooner tech is known for getting better faster and faster.
Sounds like the movie surrogates. I think we should just make the best of what we have, instead of hoping for a virtual reality. You don't need a virtual reality to get some human interaction. Just try to get rid of your acne, and make an effort to socialize in spite of your acne.
And yea, I can't wait until doctors start taking acne more seriously and make better acne treatments. I feel like all they do now is say it's not life threatening, so we'll just give you some cream or accutane if it's bad enough. They need to find out exactly why so many people get acne and make more effective treatments that actually address the cause of acne.
Guy... what's up? don't you think that the future holds many exiting things? haven't you heard about the upcoming singularity when man will supposedly merge with machine? some predict it to be before the end of this century, just imagine that, really something ey! surely acne would be something cured way before then, even if it somehow wasn't I'm sure that new fantastical gadgets would be invented to help people with acne or any kind of skin irregularity issues hide or conceal the issues. for example imagine if they invented a kind of holographic mask where you could change your real face that is covered with acne into a virtual face of you just without the acne. how awesome would that be! you guy's don't seem to really have much imagination lol maybe it's because im 19 but idk im just really exited about what is to come! so if your feeling down about it today, I say you just need to hang in there a little longer. im predicting that because of technology and innovation acne will be cured by 2020 tops =)

I honestly think really severe acne is related to the immune system more than hormones. I feel like people that have dealt with inflammatory acne for many years have a problem in the way their immune system functions.
I remember in 2011 being given prednisone for Pneumonia and severe Asthma for two months and having my skin dramatically clear...
they got shit flying in outer space, we are communicating with each other sending pics and vids through wire or through the air, spaceships, rover on f*ckin Mars bla blah blah but acne is stilll around wtf man. hopefully they can find some skin regenerating laser or something to get rid of acne scars once and for all too. I'm convinced every method out right now for acne scars is total b.s.
