Hey guys!

I'm starting the regimen in July!!!
My bcp doesn't work wonders for my skin unfortunately, though I'm still going to continue taking it along with the regimen (in 2 months I'm switching to Yasmin). So far there has been no improvement in my skin and I just finished my 4 package of Diane35, together with Androcur. The only thing it had done to me is removing any pms I usually have. No cramps, no mood swings, no breast tenderness. But acne still holds strong.

I'm planning to give the regimen + bcp time until the end of this year and then going straight on Accutane, if it fails me.

Otherwise - for those who have milder acne, I highly recommend lactic acid face wash and cream - very nice stuff. Leaves your skin moisturised and helps with small breakouts. My acne is a bit too severe for it, but i enjoyed using it this month. I'll use the products till the end and then - going on regimen :)

Got jojoba oil in my eye!!! Everything is blurry...

On a lighter note, my acne is a lot better today.

Acne is doing good. The small breakout I had is healing. I'm at the airport right now waiting on a flight. Heading back home...really nervous to see my boyfriend and see how things are going to be. He says a lot of nice words (he always does whenever I leave him for as few weeks) but I need more than words. I need action. Real change.

Okay, what I'm doing right now seems to be clearing me up. I only have 2 actives near my nose and those are the kind that linger around for a while.

Having second-thoughts on the regimen, mainly because I don't want to lose the texture of skin that I have right now. The last time I did the regimen, I got pretty leathery skin that wrinkled up.

I have one new zit on my temple .I felt frustrated but then seeing the wrath of nature here... I calmed down. For my suffering is nothing in comparison to that of my brethren. For those of you who don't know about this. Google "India-Uttarakhand floods" . You can see Youtube videos ... Real witnesses say that they saw no less than 100,000 corpses lying.Yet the officials state that the death toll is around 1,000. Still about 75,000 people are stranded on desolate mountains.Dying of hunger, cold etc.

I came back to my city today. And i saw an Air force jet at the airport. The Air force people standing helplessly.Inefficient helicopters trying to rescue people (unsuccessfully). Food worth rupees 100 crores ( 20 million $) ,lying and being stolen. Not able to reach the people who need them.

My driver told me that he was stranded at Badrinath (a pilgrimage site here in India) for 14 days! without water, food and shelter.

So much... and our politicians are seen delivering crafty rhetoric at public meetings. SICK NATION!

P.S-This had nothing to do with acne nor would it relate to any of you non-Indians.But i was overwhelmed with emotions you know... :(

So a few weeks ago I got what looked like a cyst on my thigh. I've never had a pimple or anything anywhere other than my face and a bit on my chest. It slowly turned purple and went down, though the mark is still there. Then I got another one in my pubic area, which has now gone down as well. Another, similar looking thing showed up under my arm, though I thought it was a bug bite or something as it looked a bit different. I showed my dad and he said it's an ingrown hair, so I don't know if they all are, or just that one was. Regardless, I've never had anything like this before so I'm extremely confused. Now here's the worst part: it has spread to my face. I got one above my lip, that I squeezed the shit out of until it swelled up and eventually oozed some yellowy fluid, then scabbed over. The scab's now gone and it's started to go down a little bit, but it still looks huge. And just now I've woken up with one twice as big as the others, way under the skin, on my chin. I NEVER get pimples on my chin or jawline.

I need to figure out what's causing this. I started taking Vitamin C powder once a day, around the same time the first one of these showed up. I just can't remember if it was before or after, though I'm pretty sure it was after, so I don't see how it would be causing them. Also, the rest of my skin has been looking great since starting the Vitamin C so I don't know if I should quit. Other than that I haven't changed anything... I've been masturbating more, maybe. But every 2 weeks my girlfriend visits and I have a lot of sex and that never caused anything anyway.

Yeah, I can't think of anything that could be causing it. Any ideas?

So since starting on turmeric and black pepper, and continuing the vitamin C, these spots on my face have gone down a bit. One showed up on the side of my nose but just turned into a small whitehead which should be gone in a couple days. The one on my chin turned into a whitehead too, though there's still a bit more underneath so I'll give that one like five days. The above-lip one is still all big and stuff because I squeezed it so much, but it's starting to heal over.

I also found a lump way under the skin, and bigger, next to my throat which has me worried. I can move it around but it hurts a bit.

My roommate says he gets these too and calls them calcium deposits. Which would make sense because for the past month I've been drinking tap water, which was being improperly filtered through my broken brita pitcher. Got a new pitcher though which works way better.

Today is not a very good day for me. I was supposed to start Accutane today after waiting a month due to the ridiculous ipledge requirements. But, nope, apparently my ipledge registration didn't go through so I have to wait ANOTHER month before I start. censored.gif I wish I didn't live in the US, where I didn't have to deal with such an inconvenience. I keep reading all these logs about people starting accutane, and I was hoping (I was rather excited actually) I was going to be one of them. And now I have to wait longer.

I am just so tired of acne. I feel like I suffered from it long enough. Today, I woke up with 2 new pimples, plus I have a huge one right next to my mouth from a few days ago. So now it hurts to smile (how sad is that?).

Sorry, usually I don't get this upset. I mean I should be happy that Accutane is even an option for me when it's not for some people. I just needed to vent my emotions. Maybe during this month of waiting, I will eat even healthier and exercise more and that will help my skin a bit. Plus, now I don't have to worry about hiding from the sun as much since I am not on Accutane yet.

Still, stupid ipledge! eusa_wall.gif

Sounds kind of what I have: Hidradenitis suppurativa. It's rather rare though, especially for guys. Maybe you should ask a derm to see if you have it. There isn't a really good treatment for it (unless you opt for surgery or lasers that could cause cancer).

What is ipledge?

It is a US governmental program that requires all females to have 2 negative preg tests (a 30 day wait in between) before starting accutane. Plus you have to have two forms of birth control or complete abstinence and pregnancy tests throughout the course (understandably).

Just got home from vacation. My skin actually did pretty well which I wasn't expecting. It cleared up nicely, but that always happens after that TOTM. I had a bit of an anxiety attack on the way home because I had to go so long without washing my face and two new whiteheads had popped up on my skin. I felt so frustrated, just thinking that my skin was so oily and gross that I couldn't even go traveling without new whiteheads coming. Once I got home and washed up everything looked a lot better.

I'm going to the obgyn tomorrow but I have a feeling not much will come out of it. I've decided I don't want to go on birth control for acne because I would solely be taking it for acne, and there's too many risks/side effects for just that one reason. I desperately want to try Spiro because I have definitely noticed hormonal patterns in my acne, but it seems like no one knows about Spiro. I'm afraid the nurse practitioner I'm seeing won't know anything about Spiro and will then tell me she can't prescribe it and instead try to put me on BC. I feel frustrated knowing this will most likely happen, but I've already prepared myself for the worst. If she doesn't prescribe it then I'll seek out a new doctor that has specific experience with Spiro for acne.

I really am tired of being insecure about my skin and simply trying to "manage" it instead of trying to cure it. If Spiro can reduce my oil and breakouts then I think I should definitely give it a try. And honestly, it seems safer than BC as a whole.

So...I am frustrated, but thankfully, my skin doesn't look bad right now. I have one blocked pore that's been giving me a lot of trouble but I've decided to stop picking it and just let it heal on its own. I've started using a new cleanser (La Roche Posay Effaclar) so we'll see how that goes too.

Going to start the regimen soon. Hopefully in about a week or two (I have to wait until those trial products arrive so I can give feedback like I had agreed to).

I'll have to do it all on store bought products - but I've seen some people here have had amazing results on store bought versions too - so that's really encouraging. Maybe in the future I'll be able to buy Dan's BP and AHA, but for now I'll go on the alternatives.

I decided not to waste more time by trying azelaic acid when I know that the regimen system works so well for people, and there is not much info on azelaic acid. Also, I know from past experience that BP helps my skin (and I've seen that recently too by using a BP cleanser - my skin has improved slightly by adding BP back into my routine). So the way that you use BP in the regimen - twice a day and quite a lot - must really make the difference in seeing great results! In the past I've only ever used a small amount once a day.

Really hoping that this will work

I'll probably start a log in a week or so - when I actually do start the regimen.

Mildly broken out. I'm back home in North Carolina and things are pretty good. I missed my house and my boyfriend seems to be in a better place mentally. We are trying to be friends and treat each other with respect and give each other what we need (including letting each other go if necessary). I have more time alone now that he has a job, so that's nice. I'm planning on quitting my cleaning job soon(yay, no more having to constantly see myself in the mirror) and focus all of my energies on my freelance writing career. This is a huge move for me--the first time in my life I will be supporting myself 100 percent with the creative arts. smile.png I'm also busy working on my first proposals/query letters seeking an agent to represent me and try to sell my first novel. Writing this novel has been my life for the past six years and I have more love for it than most people probably have for their firstborn child. I'm not expecting miracles but I do hope and pray I can become a published author one day.

Acne: mildly broken out. I've been eating whatever I want (CHICKEN AND MASHED POTATOES LAST NIGHT MMMM) and not caring. I think the AHA is super important for skin texture because I didn't use it for a few days and my skin got really flaky, dry and gross looking again. Broke out a bit more too. So I'll need to order some more AHA soon.

Had a mini breakout today, nothing drastic, but still not happy about it.

Not sure if jojoba oil is really effective in reducing breakouts alone, but it'll probably improve my skin texture.

Got some supplements today. Saw palmetto (for my hormones) and fish oils. Not sure if they're all that beneficial, but we'll see!

Still in two-minds about the regimen. Not sure I can deal with the flakes and I'm scared that I'll ruin the texture of my clear skin. Which is soft like a babies bottom at the moment!

Feeling like shit both physically and mentally. Acne worsening and i'm stressed from work and from moving. Eating like shit lately. Hoping that once i move and things are not as stressful, i won't be breaking out as much. Already looking into my next game plan if The Regimen fails me.

Feeling very happy right now. My skin looks pretty good, aside from a few tiny clogged pores, but honestly no one can see those unless they're an inch away from my face. My marks are fading well.

I'm excited because I have an appointment with a renowned derm in 2 weeks! She has specific experience with spironolactone and recommends it for her female patients. I wasn't expecting to get an appointment so soon, especially when most derms are booked until September. I really hope the appointment goes well for me. :)

My skin is not doing well, even though it's summer and I usually have less breakouts! I have 4 active cycts, and many smaller pimples. Most of them around my mouth and on my temples.
On the top of that, I have some pain in my legs, which is troubling. Both my mom and granny have vein thrombosis and the risk is altered by Diane35. I also have terrible painful cramps every night, which still hurts during the next day and it's becoming harder to ignore. I'm afraid I'll have to terminate bcp treatment...
My boyfriend is leaving in less than 2 weeks. I guess this is making the matters worse, cause even if I try to act cheerful and make the best out of these last days, deep inside I feel so unhappy. He has some visa issues and it makes me secretly hope that he won't be able to go, but I try to push these thoughts away, cause his happiness is important to me. Don't want to see him sad and demotivated!

So my forehead looks really bad but the rest of my skin looks great, after taking vitamin C for a couple weeks. Could the vitamin C be congesting/over-working my liver... in other words, is forehead acne tied to the liver?

I had been relatively clear the past month then today underneath my jawline/neck 8 cyst appeared just like that. It sucks cause I have no clue what caused it I've been eating and doing the same shit for months. I know im supposed to feel angry or upset but instead I just feel empty inside. This is going to leave even more

damage to my skin, fucking great.

Have one active right now, which I'm going to have to pop (tut tut) because its huge.

I decided to go dairy free, but I fucked up this morning and had cereal because it was so easy to make...I'm still caffeine free though! Caffeine causes me tons of issues with my skin and GI health.

I wish the acne community could live together so that instead of dealing with clear skinned peers who don't understand you and judge you,i'd have to deal with people going through the same tough times as me.Life would be so much easier.Life would be blissful. :) .I can only dream of such life.

I know it sounds like a silly dream but it's a dream nevertheless :P
