I have got to agree with Claire, Binga most of your posts that i have read suggest going to a derm.
I think a lot of people have tried and some can't afford to.
Maybe be a bit more helpful next time.
feeling shitty the usual really nothing much changed on that front other than my treadmill has just broke down lol ffs
Go to a derm and get ur acne under control asap. scarring is permanent
Yeah Binga...no offense, but that advice doesn't help me in the least. I've been going to a dermatologist consistently for seven years now and I've taken just about every antibiotic known to the history of mankind and used almost every topical available on the market too. If it was as easy as "going to a derm to get my acne under control" I would have done that a long ass time ago. I suggest you put a little more thought into posts like this, because they come across as silly...especially in a community of long-standing acne sufferers that have been fighting this fight for years now.
In other news, not much improvement in my skin today. I think the one next to my nose MIGHT be a little smaller, but it could just be wishful thinking.
Today has been sort of weird...
Normally the absolute first thing I do in the morning as I'm just waking up, without even meaning to do it, is lightly touch my face to see if it feels any better. (Weird, I know... somewhere over the years of acne it became a 'reflex' I guess). And then that's quickly followed by an "ugh, gross" thought. But today, even though my skin hasn't improved, my immediate thought was "well, I'm so much more than just my skin." Same thing when I was getting ready to go out. A few times today I've had these positive, self-affirming / self-accepting thoughts, without planning to do it or having to force them at all, and it's made me feel pretty good today. I've been listening to this meditation/hypnosis app to help me relax and fall asleep for the last three nights and it has a few of those sort of things added at the end - I really didn't think it would help at all but maybe it has?
I'm feeling in pain, but hopeful. All of the actives on my face have developed those hard, giant whiteheads where all the pus is under the surface but you can't pop it or it will just become this huge painful abscess. So I just have to wait for them to drain, basically. But a lot of the other zits have cleared up. It's like the BP kills small zits and makes stronger zits come out as one giant painful zit versus lots of little ones... *sigh* I don't know.
But my regimen supplies shipped yesterday. They are shipping from California, so it may take a while for them to get here. I hope they get here soon. I really need to start doing the regimen right, because as of now I don't have the good PH balanced gentle soap, I just have regular soap.
Hopefully Dan's lotion and cleanser make a difference. But either way I'm praying this bad initial breakout is over before then.
ps. It's raining soooo hard here in the mountains right now. I love it.

I am rooting for you girl! I love your blog. Good luck with the regimen, wishing you the best. I myself may be starting it in a couple of months as Claravis is not working for me.
Keep your head up!
I'm doing okay. A lot of new breakouts, but they seem to be moving to the outer edges of where I apply the medication. I recall that happening the last time I started the regimen too. It really freaks me out...makes me think intelligent things are like...living in my skin or something. *shudders*. I mean, how does it KNOW to move away from the medication like that? I don't understand it.
I have high hopes for my skin at this time, because I remember the regimen being a long, slow, difficult process that takes a lot of patience--but I do remember it help me a lot both times. I won't expect perfection. I just want mostly-clear skin that doesn't hurt and I'll be so much happier than I've been in ages.
My third day with Retin-a. My face/chest/back are peely and moisturizer burns, but my CYSTIC acne is almost instantaneously getting better and no more oil slick! And I haven't even started the prescription Oracea yet! I feel beautiful and I wish I had done this years ago. I just finally came to the conclusion that my acne is a genetic problem since none of my diets and OTC topicals have been able to touch it (though I will say they helped a little), and went to the freaking derm.
It's been a while since I visited this forum! My skin has been clear for a while. I'm dealing with acne scars. There's still hope!! I always thought that my skin would never clear up. But I started to ignore my skin, etc and now i am clear. I've been applying jojoba oil, ALoe vera, MSM lotion, Tea tree oil whenever I see a breakout, and aztec healing clay like once a months. These are chemical-free and good for skin. Not sure if these are preventing breakouts. Hope you all clear up soon! My skin is always very smooth when I touch it. I think that once you get very smooth skin, you won't break out.
Hey everyone.
I'm feeling okay despite still being fairly broken out. The regimen is definitely working for me. I only have 3 painful active cysts, down from 7-8 a few days ago. Yesterday these three were severely painful and now they are only mildly painful. Still red and terrible-looking though.
I highly suspect that the fermented foods are a trigger now. Already suspected it, but I didn't drink any water kefir for 2 days and noticed on those days, I had no new breakouts. Then I drank water kefir again the day before yesterday and got a new, very inflamed cyst. Water kefir is mighty tasty, so I'm still going to drink it from time to time. I haven't tested the kimchee or saurkraut yet, but I haven't had any for about a week now and I feel okay.
The medication helps me but it doesn't seem to prevent breakouts when my body is reacting to something. It just helps heal up what's already there. So I need to do the regimen but also stop all this shit that's making me worse. It's confusing though, because there are just so many triggers. The biggest I've identified so far are: dairy, stress, fermented foods/probiotics and caffeine.
I really want to fast again soon, but I don't want to trigger myself to get worse with eating disorder issues. It's confusing. But I feel like my body and mind would benefit from a rest.
Oh! And I just checked my tracking number and my regimen products are almost here. Should be here by monday. So I'm excited about that. Finally I can stop washing my face with soap and use something more gentle and formulated for problem skin.

The left side of my face is breaking out horribly lately but the right side is mostly clear (!) even though it doesn't look it for all the dark pigmentation marks... I'll take what I can get though! Also breaking out again on my forehead. I can't figure out why... I went so long with not breaking out on my forehead to it being more frequent in recent months... I've also noticed my skin has been really oily the past week - also don't know why but it's really annoying! Actually - it might be because I've been using the cetaphil moisturiser I had lying around (I ran out of the MSM one I normally use) and from memory that made my skin feel a little greasy...
And I'm still waiting for the sulfur product I ordered online to arrive. I just really want to try it out. Hopefully it gets here soon.
So it's all up and down like usual, but I'm feeling alright Hope everyone else is hanging in there too
By the way, if anyone reads this, I must recommend a great Polish skin care line called Phenome. I'm always get attracted to eco-organic brands that usually lay hidden in the most remote corner of the store outshined by the popular shit everyone buys. A month ago I found these simple recycled boxes with humbly looking producs and I got their exfoliator for blemished skin. It was so gentle and made my skin look brighter, fresher, no dryness what so ever, so I thought to buy more products like a cleanser and oil-control matifying creame. So I far I'm very happy, and I don't have a skin that's easy to please. Definitely recommend it!
I heard about phenome, it looks like a great brand. What products are you using from this line besides the exfoliator?

Besides the Enzymatic exfoliator I also use the Oil-Control mattifying cream and Non-Drying cleansing foam, they're so gentle and I have already forgotten about dry liveless skin (I wish I could in the same way forget about the break outs ). If you're looking for a good organic cosmetics line, I would recommend Phenom©, or Juice Beauty, which is also great, but slightly overpriced, hehe

Thanks for the recommendations! Unfortunately, phenome doesn't ship to the US directly....I emailed the company to find out more information. I will be in Europe this summer, so I'll definitely look for it then if I can't get it in the US. Juice Beauty is available in the US though....which products of theirs have you used? Did you notice improvement after using juice beauty?
By the way, have you heard of MSM cream? I ordered it yesterday from amazon and it's supposed to be good for helping the skin heal...I'm getting some rolling scars and will be using it to control those hopefully

Here's the list of products I have used from Juice Beauty:
Oil free moisturizer - very light, get's absorbed quickly, perfect for summer time. However in winter it wasn't as effective.
Green Apple cleansing gel - one of the best cleansers I have ever used. Doesn't dry out, brightens the skin
Hydrating Mist - it was a great thing to have in summer, I used to spray it on my face whenever it got sweaty and kept it hydrated and clean. Once again - in winter it didn't do anything and my skin didn't absorb it well.
Blemish Clearing Serum - not sure about this product. It's very sticky and doesn't get absorbed at all, however I used to apply it on my skin at night and it did help new break outs get cleared kinda fast. I wouldn't buy it again, actually.
I haven't heard about the msm cream before, but now I read about it and sounds really great. Please tell me how it works after you used it!
For helping my skin heal faster I use one product from Cell Fusion C - the beta-glucan cream, which I got by accident:

It sounds very fancy and super-advanced, but I feel it really worked for my forehead and my left cheek (which is not as infected as the right one, but it started going the same path, and I think this creamed helped me clear it). Doesn't shrink pores as well as I expected, but my I don't get nasty whiteheads since I started using it.
I am feeling really down about my skin today.
Had a really bad breakout.
Was supposed to go out for lunch but my skin is that bad that makeup just doesn't cover it, I know I should just go regardless but I feel really uncomfortable and unconfident like everyone is staring at me.
Booo.
