Its a lonely road to absolution, we must walk alone....

So insecure, so depressed, so lost, so worried, so scared, so angry, so numb,

Dealing with acne can certainly be a struggle because not many people go through severe bouts of cystic acne. However, the journey does help you learn more about yourself.

blah day. much of my stuff is healing, but I have a new nodule that appeared on my chin that's annoying. I switched from Retin-A to epiduo recently, and one positive thing is I'm finding the epiduo seems a bit more effective, but it's also more drying, so I gotta moisturize with aloe vera to keep from shedding my skin like a reptile.

Im feelin alot better today actually than I was. I have started using Differin about a week and a half ago, my skin is peeling but not thaaaat much, so I have resorted to using it every 2nd night and moisturising in the morning. I had a really bad break-out on my upper lip area about a month ago and it is pretty much healed, just one wee spot left to diminish thankfully. So yea Im feeling hopeful again :) we will see how long this lasts though!

I saw a derm for the first time today. I'm on 300mg of Tetralysal and Duac now. He said my acne is mild and that I've probably made it worse by picking. He left me under no illusions about the treatment, emphasized there was no cure for hormonal acne if I couldn't go on the pill and said any results I see (if I do see any) will likely be non-permenant (unless I'm lucky).

So I'm slightly worried that money's been spent on something not worth while now. He said my acne might get better as I age, but now I'm worried it'll only be gone when I'm old and dealing with wrinkles.

Maybe I just need to stop thinking about it all.

I had a job interview today for a better paying job than what I have currently. My skin is not in the best condition right now, but I did my best and I think I maintained a strong level of confidence during the interview. I feel that I came across as a pretty knowledgeable dude when it came to answering the questions I was asked, so I'm crossing my fingers and we'll see what happens. It's a security position at a local college.

Mini breakout on face and neck going so pretty content with skin at the mo. However, thanks to the fluctuating temperatures that we have in the UK, eczema has flared up a little on my wrist and elbows. Currently using e45 cream but not a big problem - give me a weeny bit of eczema over cystic acne anyday of the week!

Aw thanks y'all =) but idk..:/ I never have normal cute guys hit on me ever. Just way older men who will hit on anything. If even that. ugh virgin and single forever with acne! Oh well tongue.png

I agree with the earlier post. You are very attractive and there are plenty of guys that would want to date you (And this is the opinion of a 29 year old, so I'm not way older...at least I hope 29 is not old, lol!). I sometimes feel the same way as you, but I have the anxiety of getting future breakouts while I am dating someone, so I sometimes regress from a relationship because I am afraid the girl will not want to be with me because of my acne.

The chemical burn on my face flaked off this morning. I think it may have been the Duac cream. My actual acne looks a tiny bit better, and the redness in my cheeks isn't as bad. The cut on my eye is healing up and over all I feel like I look less of a mess.

After sleeping on it it did make me feel better that the doctor thinks my acne is only mild.

i really don't have any active breakouts at the moment, but i'm still feeling depressed. i feel like because of the scarring i can never attract a guy.

....sometimes this thought crosses my mind toooo.... i mean everytime i try to go out, whenever a guy looks at me, i would automatically think "he's just looking coz' he's probably wondering what the heck happened to my face..." bleh bleh

..... that's why i don't bother myself too much with guy problems..... whatever...... never had a boyfriend either and i've never mind looking for one..... that thing'll come in God's time...or if not, i'm just gonna go ahead and have a baby, and then when i die, i would meet a super cute guy in heaven!

yaaaaaahhh party zits on my forehead!!!!

Got my indian healing clay mask in the mail today...I can't wait to try this out and see if it helps my skin.

Almost everything I have is healing right now, except for this big nodule that appeared right in the middle of my forehead. It looks like one of those rubies that Indian women sometimes wear in the middle of their foreheads for decoration. :P maybe I can lie and tell people that's what it is? lol

but other than that, skin is smoothing out and healing up pretty well.

Feeling ok. I shaved over a fresh zit the other day and it's scabbed up big time. By far the most noticeable thing I've had on my face in a long time. Trying to ignore it.

I also have some whiteheads from washing my face, or maybe from having sex, or drinking, or eating pie and these cinnamon sugar pastries, or eating too much for dinner last night, or something. I also have a big one under the surface that'll be annoying for the next couple weeks.

But I'm feeling ok.

Especially drama for no reason. so im hoping I don't get a pimple over this stupid situation. so im trying to relax not over think everything. But overall trying to stay positive and be happy! I don't have a single active this morning, and my skin is really smooth. Literally all I have right now are scabs from picking and one or two small dried out whiteheads.

I'm really happy that my face isn't sore anymore. Still being a pessamistic bugger and waiting for the IB to kick in.

Finally finished all my uni exams! Finished my second year at uni :D Time to get some rest I think. Hopefully my skin will start to improve now that I wont be stressing so much. I'm also challenging myself to stop touching/picking at my skin - it's a bad habit I fell back into when studying/stressing and majority of the time I didn't realise I was doing it. So I'm sure that less stress, getting better sleep and not messing with my skin will help my skin at least slightly -- the only other thing to deal with is this heat! Hellooo summer! (and it's not even technically summer here yet!)

Hope everyone here is doing well :)

Having a bad week with my skin :( I've gotten a few small pimples on my left cheek this week. Every time one goes down, another pops up. Right now I have 2 active ones and the rest are just hyperpigmented marks. With makeup on it's not bad at all, but it still bothers me and worries me. I'm worried I'll have some sort of horrible breakout I guess. I just want to keep my clear skin! I haven't changed anything about my routine, so I don't know what could've caused this. It might've been cause I've been drinking more milk lately? But I'm really not sure. I just hope this all passed by the beginning of next week. I just have to remind myself, though, that it could be a LOT worse and I've dealt with worse before. And a few marks/pimples doesn't make me, nor anyone else ugly! Stay positive, I'm not letting acne take control of me anymore!

Congratulations Lily75! I'm still in my second year.. boooo.

Snsdgirl - I really like your attitude :)

Margox - Just keep trying. Self confidence is a flighty mistress.

I woke up to what I'd consider to be clear skin today. By that I mean mostly clear except for two very small, superficial whiteheads. I also woke up to a bright red face although it is not burning or flaking like previously. I'm really happy, but at the same time I hope it doesn't stay this colour all day, because my skin won't stand having makeup on it at the moment.

I'm a lobster, but hey, I'm a clear one.

Margox - where are those from? lol!

My face ITCHES. Like I've fallen head first into a cluster of stinging nettles, then been bitten by bugs, then been exposed to self tanning products (of which I am actually allergic). Trying to tap the itchy areas instead of scratching. It does noottthhiinnnnggg!

Also I think I randomly have some shallow scarring now. The people I've pointed it out to have called me paranoid. But it's there. I CAN SEE IT.

two small pustules on my left cheek -____- one is not so inflamed anymore, the other one is newer and hurts just a tad. well, only when i actually press on it. ugh! and one small whitehead on my forehead. the rest are rolling scars that seem to have shallowed out quite a bit, and some light marks. i almost slapped my face today in frustration though. i can be 100% clear from pimples but my marks/scars are always there. :(
