Pros:

Coconut oil has improved my skin's texture tremendously :]
i love itt

Cons:

none rlly. other than you have to be patient and willing.

I'd definately say that this was worth the price. After trying basicaly [almost] every brand you can buy over the counter, i decided to swich to something natural. Ive always been buying harsh benzyl peroxide products that would only get rid of some pimples...[the big ones that HurT]...Now- I have light acne, but alot of red marks left by old acne. >:-[ ...coconut oil has really made them look alot smoother. i also had somewhat visible (large} pores on my cheecks near my nose area only. and after only using coconut oil [as my moisturizer] and water, my pores are alot smaller :-] [those holes arent there anymore!] - I am going to start the OCM (oil cleansing method) {['google it' if u're interested}] soon.b/c after seeing good results from using oils for the first time, i think it'll be the only thing ill use from now on..i really feel good about using natural based products on my skin- iTs worth the try if you havent alreaddy... try searching 'essential oils for acne/skin' gO0d L

Pros:

I have now been using coconut oil for three years. I am 34 years old and have always struggled with acne. Since I have used coconut oil as my only moisturizer at night, my skin is flawless. I can't even remember the last time I had a pimple.

Cons:

absolutley no cons!

I wish I could go back in time and discover how wonderful coconut oil is for my skin. I would have had avoided many many years of acne. My skin has never looked better. I buy a $9.00 jar of organic virgin coconut oil at Whole Foods twice a year. I used to spend hundreds of dollars a year on expensive moisturizers and skin care products and they never improved my skin. Coconut oil is now my miracle oil. Last year my 14 year old daughter began having acne, she even tried Pro-Active and it only dried her skin out and made it worse, I finally was able to talk her into using the coconut oil at night and in only 3 weeks her face is acne free! I recommend this oil to all of my friends and family! It's amazing. It's also great to cook with, incredibly healthy and delicious.

Pros:

uv protection, moisturizer, antibacterial, smells great, cheap skin care.

Cons:

none that i know of.

i have acne and eczema together on my face. great combo...one dry one oily and they irritate each other it seems. i started using the virgin coconut oil to clear up my acne...and as a bi-product it cleared up my eczema as well. i put a thin layer, massaged in, several times a day. i do not wash it off, except to wipe my face at the end of the day with a warm cloth before i re-apply. at first you may/will? break out, up to a week of pimples for me...i stuck to it, and now rarely break out. if a lump/pimple does start to form under the skin, i leave it alone and it is usually gone by the next day! without coming to a head, i might add. almost invisible. as a bonus, coconut oil (virgin) is a natural sunblock..spf 2-4. the only natural oil with a higher spf is sesame oil, also good for the skin, but i don't like the smell. also, one should eat several Tbsp of virgin coconut oil each day...it does wonders for your insides too....!

Pros:

Tastes yummy, makes me feel happier, makes my skin smell great and leaves it with a nice healthy glow.

Cons:

I thought this was a con: brings pimples to a white head... so I stopped using it. But then I realized that a white head is better than any other form of acne, and when one leaves a white head alone, there is little to no scars, and it heals quicker

As long as one eats healthy foods (good fats, fiber, protein, leavy greens) and uses coconut oil on skin, skin should look better, and one will feel happier about oneself. Above all, slash away the bad habits of picking, scratching, and busting open pimples... just use the coconut oil, and whiteheads will probably form, but do not pick them, just let them take their course, and soon, they will stop coming altogether and one will have beautiful skin.

Pros:

Coconut oil is probably the best thing for your skin. I recommend it highly!

Cons:

Makes the skin look oily, but that is the least of my concerns.

Antifungal, antibacterial, antiparasitic properties. You can cook with it. You can eat it by the spoonfuls. You can use it on the skin. What more can you ask for?

Pros:

I use Spectrum coconut oil, the one for cooking and/or body and hair. No scent.14 oz jar last a long time, remember a little goes a long way!

Cons:

None

I am mixed w black /white. I use as a hairdress, wash out every 3 days. it has made my hair grow and made it look very healthy. I use all over body as lotion, love it!!!! I have cystic acne and i wash face w cetaphil cleanser then i put coconut oil on at night before bed then. It has stopped the breakouts and my skin is well hydrated which helps wrinkles. I have used this oil for any minor cuts also, works great! Taking away acne scars too!

Pros:

Use as an all over body lotion after a shower...................keeps skin nice and soft and helps prevent pimples and wrinkles. Face may look shiny at first, but by morning, it looks refreshed and soft .

Cons:

none

I have been using coconut oil for years and it works great..............better than proactive and alot cheaper too. Paid about 8 dollars for the organic kind would highly recommend it. A jar lasts for a long time.

Pros:

Cheap, seems to already be working after just a few days, smells nice

Cons:

none, really

I have suffered with severe cystic acne on my back and shoulders for 25 years. Nothing helped, and believe me, I tried everything. The jury is still out, but after only 5 days, the coconut oil is already improving the existing nodules, and no new ones are emerging. Keeping my fingers crossed. I love it so far, and the price cannot be beat!

Pros:

Works well, multi-purpose, relatively inexpensive and natural.

Cons:

none.

If you get coconut oil please get ORGANIC, VIRGIN COCONUT OIL. It is about $13.00 for a jar that will last you forever! That's well worth the price and the lower quality kind will clog your pores instead of helping. I don't use it as a face lotion though, what I do is put a dab on blemishes. It sounds weird but it dries them up and they heal faster. I also use it once a week kind of like OCM. I massage it onto a clean face for a few minutes then take it off with a hot washcloth. It loosens blackheads etc.. and I follow that with a clay mask. It works great! Coconut oil is also a great conditioning treatment for hair and a good body moisturizer. Can't go wrong.
