Pros:

Natural, works well, affordable, lasts a long time.

Cons:

Leaves the face greasy, but I really don't mind that. I also think oils in general are only meant for people with oily skin...weird how that works :]

I am loving this stuff! I have oily skin, and moderately severe acne. I used to use a lot of drying products loaded with chemicals and it would do nothing for my acne. I ended up spending many years and dollars on products that never worked! I have only recently started using natural products for my acne, and it has worked wonders for me! I use coconut oil twice a day every day, Retin-A everyday before bed, honey masks twice a day, and aspirin and honey mask every other day, it has gotten my skin to where I want it! Finally! Yes, it DOES bring the pimple to a head, but that is a GOOD thing! And it lasts a long time! I have been using it a month and two day, and I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it! It has worked wonders for me, and I LOVE it! There is no way I wold use any drugstore product again, Coconut Oil beats them all! And relative to what you pay for it, Coconut oil pretty much pays for itself. So it's a very good investment to make for your skin!

Pros:

cheap, natural(no side effects),easily available, not drying, works, can be used on hair(makes it really soft.)

Cons:

hate the smell.

My dermatologist gave me a facewash that i've been using for a while, but it was over-drying my skin and making it red where it was dry so I couldn't use it very often. I wanted coconut oil for my hair anyways, so I used it on my face too. It reduced the size of an upcoming pimple and mosturized all the dry parts, making my skin even. Haven't even used it for that long. Hopefully it'll improve my skin alot.

Pros:

Works, and fast!

Cons:

I can't apply makeup on top. It leaves the face greasy for a few hours.

I can't believe I didn't know about this before! It is almost like a miracle. I have tried it all and this makes my skin just glow and look so flawless. I have only been using it fir a few days, so I hope it lasts, but wow it worked so quickly for me. I have also started using lavendar essential oil as a spot treatment underneath this. Great! I usually use lots of expensive products, but this may end all that; here's hoping! I'm using food grade, organic, expeller pressed, virgin coconut oil from whole foods.

Pros:

Works amazingly well! My acne is basically gone and if i do get a breakout it is not painful and is cured within a day or two.

Cons:

Makes your face look greasy for an hour or so...

So ive had acne for the last 10-12 years (i'm 24 now) it comes and goes, but its always been at least moderate. It hurts, its ugly, you know the deal... no one like the stuff. I had tried pretty much everything you can buy including fancy creams and pills from doctors, and most of it not only didn't help much, but a lot made it worse, or made my skin terribly dry and ugly. And if i did find something that would work a little, it usually wasn't cost effective to keep up with the treatment... Then i found coconut oil. I just went to my local health-food store and picked up about 15 ounces for about 10$ Make sure its cold pressed, unrefined, extra virgin, organic all that stuff. I eat about two too three tablespoons a day, and apply it generously on my face morning and night... it really work wonders.I see people with acne on the street nowdays and i feel like stopping them and preaching to them about coconut oil, but I guess that might be a bit inappropriate

Pros:

Great for body, but not too sure about face. This is day 4 for me and I've been seeing a few whiteheads (which disappear pretty quickly), also my skin feels dry, which is strange since VCO is suppose to moisturize.

Cons:

I'm not sure if the oil is exfoliating and extracting impurities or if it's clogging my pores. Maybe I haven't found the right amount (I've been using it every night)

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated :)

Pros:

great price and great results!

Cons:

none

i've been using extra virgin coconut oil on my skin for almost 6 years now and i had no idea that it helps with acne problems; i just thought my skin finally cleared up on its own! growing up i had really bad cystic acne and suffered from dark marks from the acne as well. since i've been using coconut oil morning and night on my face for the past years, my skin has improved wonderfully! i used it on my body and scalp for a while but only started using on my face because one day i ran out of facial moisturizer so i thought it might work as well. it worked as the best moisturizer i've ever had so i stuck with it. who knew that all these years i was helping my face out in other ways as well? very cool.

Pros:

Affordable, multi-use for hair, skin, takes away acne. yummy with ice cream or in shakes. keeps digestive system going and encourages healthy consumption

Cons:

besides a bit of grease, nothing

I starting taking the pills from whole foods for 10.99 and noticed more energy and less hunger attacks. Only took two a day and they recommended 4-9 per meal. then purchased the organic unrefined spectrum kind from whole foods for 6.99. Wow. I have had severe acne for the last 4 years and used everything from boscia to ahava to weleda (all natural products). Put the coconut oil on my hair, face and body last night and already notice an incredible difference. Had it in a smoothie and vanilla ice cream, my body is changing. The energy, the glow, the decrease in hunger. It seems as though the excess fat in my body is going away. I almost feel as though it has changed my entire life. I feel renewed. I recommend this to anyone.

Pros:

shrinks pores, cleared up breakouts, evened out blotchy skin tone, got rid of flakiness, scars seem to be fading too

Cons:

none so far

I'm shocked. I've always had trouble with my combination skin and I hate trying new things because my face is so sensitive. I bought a jar of this a few months ago to eat in oatmeal (for thyroid boost) and just started putting it on my face a month ago. Wow! Took about 3 weeks to get used to...I think it exfoliates a bit, so it made my skin look flaky and oily at first, but stay with it. I'm glowing now! I just dab some on after a shower and then get my hands wet to smooth it around, so I don't have to put on too much that way. I let it dry for 5 mins and then put on a little mineral makeup. My skin has never looked better, ever. They will delete the brand name -starts with N. Got in online at -starts with A. :) Lasts forever. Get a little empty plastic jar from the drugstore to keep some in so you don't get germs in the big jar.

Pros:

moisturizes, light weight, cheap

Cons:

none

after researching coconut oil, i decided to give it a try. I bought unrefined virgin coconut oil by the brand NOW from GNC. I also bought a bottle of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar which I use as a toner before the oil. I had only been using this combination for 2 days but I can seriously see a difference and I hope that it continues this way. My skin wasn't so blotchy as before. I will continue to use both of these ingredients every night because so far its working great

Pros:

It works! Be sure to get the Organic Extra Virgin kind. The oil has many uses...you can eat it, use it as a body moisturizer and even as a hair conditioner! Very affordable pricing for a jar and it lasts a long time.

Cons:

Leaves skin with a little bit of an oily finish...but that soon goes away.

I have used Dan's BP treatment and it has been working well for years...however, I just turned 40 and along with that came thyroid and hormonal issues. I started to get breakouts on both sides of my neck (tiny red marks and pimples). I tried dabbing the BP on it, but my neck is soooo fair and sensitive, it left it red and iritated. I had recently purchased a jar of organic extra virgin coconut oil as I heard it helps with thyroid. I was browsing this website and I saw where people had positive results using the coconut oil for acne. I figured I had nothing to lose by putting some on my neckline where the small bumps/pimples were....and sure enough, it looked better the next morning. Best of all, no irritation. I have only been using it for a week, but the acne has improved greatly. I am now wondering if I should try this on my face and see if it works as good as, or better, than the BP!
