  1. So i am two months in. Skin is not perfect, but its way better. I cant tell if its better than it was before spiron or if its just way better from the initial breakout? Im not sure. Anyways, i still get new whiteheads every day but it also could have been from the stress of finals week. It was 90 and sunny yesterday and i went for a run and wow my face hurts so bad. I cant stress enough the importance of sunscreen with the spiro. I always use to tan naturally but now i burn right away.....bless
  2. Well, I freaked out yesterday, but it looks like my skin is back to progressing. Most of the areas that were popped yesterday are either now red marks or smaller whiteheads, which I'm fine with. It could've been worse! Of course, my skin is also back to its insanely dry, red, and burning routine. Applying the BP is never bad, but for some reason when I put on the 2 pumps of moisturizer (and 5-6 drops of jojoba now ) my skin starts freaking out and stinging like mad. It definitely needs
  3. hello! i'll let know 1st that i've less or no idea about doing make-up. i use a sunscreen that my derma had prescribed.its MELAGARD 50+. It's got ZINC OXIDE alone with few other chemical blocks in it. as zno does,it leaves a slightly pale look. covered look. i have a concealer from AVON. AVON STICK CONCEALER. now, what i want to know is CAN I USE THE SUNSCREEN ALL OVER MY FACE AND THEN PUT THE CONCEALERS JUST ON MY POST-ACNE SPOTS/BLEMISHES ETC?? DO I NEED A POWDER/COMPACT/
  4. Can anybody recommend a sunscreen that wont break you out?!? I have reallly oily skin, plus Im taking medication that makes my skin super sensitive to the sun. Please Help!!!
  5. Hello, I'm a 20 year old girl that's planning to transfer over to a university soon. Naturally, living with strangers is terrifying because of my mild to moderately bad skin. I really don't want anyone to see me without makeup on because of a traumatizing experience I had in a past related to it and someone I trusted. Suffice it to say that I have a huge complex regarding it. This has only festered because my skin has gotten exponentially worse over the past 7 years. Luckily, I actually do h
  6. I am a month and a half post accutane, i started surfing now in the summer and i am looking for a good face sunscreen that is water resistant. Does anyone have any advice's for a good sunscreen that doesn't clog pores and wont do any harm to the face? Thank you very much:)
  7. Hello, I am about to begin a course of roaccutane and I was instructed to use moisturiser for the face and lips, artificial eyedrops and a strong sunscreen. However the moisturiser dilutes the sunscreen and what's even worse is that I use chemical sunscreen. I just don't see it happening - as long as the moisturiser holds in water, it will dilute the sunscreen. Can I get away without the moisturiser during the day and only use it at night?
  8. Hi accutane users: I am currently nearing the end of my 4 month accutane regime, and while my acne has definitely gone away, it isn't where I thought it'd be. My derm told me at this point I shouldn't be breaking out. The thing is I haven't (it is clear at the moment with the exception of a few tiny pimples), but only if I put nothing on my face. But I'm supposed to put sunscreen on while taking accutane. Thing is, I have been trying to put sunscreen on, but everytime I do I break out a little.
  9. So I just started 40mg of accutane yesterday and I know this is irrelevant, but I have never burned in the sun, ever. I just tan- like brown tan. I honestly end up looking like another ethnicity because I turn so brown so I've always been very good with sunscreen so I know that being outside won't be a problem for me because I'm used to reapplying and all that. But Im just curious as to wearing sunscreen at home. My desk is right next to a window and I was wondering if I need to wear sunscre
  10. I need a few tips guys nobodys giving me answers here.. I do the regimen im free of active acne ive decided to start using aha+ to help with my red marks and scars and dan and everybody here recommendeds i use a sunscreen but nobody is specific i was recoomended cerave am and i like it but it doesnt go on clearly like cerave pm it leaves white streaks on my cheeks and i hate it people are always asking me why do i have white stuff on my face and its the moisturizer leaving behind all that resi
  11. ZINC OXIDE: IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80′S YOU MAY REMEMBER ZINKA…. Back in the 80′s the zinc was not micronized so it was very WHITE, and sometimes contained the addition of a hot pink, green or yellow color! Life guards wore it on their noses and lips. Yes the 80′s did happen. So did Stussy, big shoulder pads and NEON. So why am I obsessed with zinc oxide? It has cleared my acne, healed my eczema and calmed my irritated skin while providing UVA/UVB protection. There are not enough produc
  12. hello! (although i mean to start it primarily for those in India but in today's age boundaries aint really an issue ; considering online shopping and other modern facilities. so,do not hesitate adding ur suggestions or posting questions/concerns or seeking additional tips on sunscreen) according to me, an ideal sunscreen (for acne prone skin or otherwise) should be one - with spf 30 or morewith both chemical and physical barriers(for complete protection from UVA & UVB) with zin
  13. I have been on the regimen for 8 months (but I 'reset' 4 months ago). I am mostly clear, but I still do get 1-3 zits a week. But I also am not yet using the full amount as my face takes awhile to adjust. I am still suffering with an extremely red face in areas where I apply BP/Moisturizer. Switching moisturizers to Cerave helped a little bit, but it is still bad. I was wondering if adding a sunscreen would help with redness. I don't think I spend enough time in the sun to get sunburns, b
  14. Hi! I went to te derm. And she prescribed this sunscreen for me along with other stuff which doesn't seem to have the comedogenic stuff but it's very wierd, it's called Uriage Bariesun 50+ spf , note that i live in a very sunny area, the sun's here for about 10 months a year, so sunscreen's a must Ingredients: Aqua, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Uriage thermal water, Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexil Triazone, Glycerin, Nylon-12, Triacontan
  15. Hi there I am off on holiday in June and looking for a high spf facial sunscreen that is moisturising but wont break me out. I was ideally looking for something about spf 50, my daily moisturiser has spf 30, but would like that extra protection while I am away. I have heard good things about zinc oxide in sunscreen although most reviews of those say they leave a white cast on your face, which I'm not too keen on either. Any recommendations would be great Gill
  16. I'm currently use CeraVe moisturizing lotion but it doesn't have any spf in it. Therefore, I need good suggestions for a low spf sunscreen please!
  17. Just wondering why i keep reading about not going outside unless applying/adding sunscreen to your face or moisturizer? With summer right around the corner and my face clearing up the only place i want to be is on the beach soaking up the sun Would it be bad for my acne if i was still doing the regimen twice a day, and going outside tanning? Also would it be ok to use just any sunscreen lotion ? or is there one specifically that you can recommend for the face? Steph
  18. I know I'm not really supposed to be in the sun much while on Epiduo, but I'm out a lot in the summer and my school's marching band camp is about to start. This means I will be outside for anywhere from 3-8 hours a day in the hot Alabama sun. I've been using Neutrogena oil-free moisture SPF 35 in the morning . I apply another plain sunscreen with SPF 50 before going outside, and reapply every hour or two. I already have really really fair skin, and I was wondering if this is enough sun protectio
  19. Hey all, i've been on the regimen for about 3 weeks and it's working pretty well. i only have mild acne to begin with, but it was getting annoying...the beginning of this week i had a few blemishes, but 0 new zits for the first time in forever. (of course as we speak 2 more have shown up) ... anyway, i'll be going to bermuda this weekend and i was just wondering if i should stop the BP for a few days before (or even for the whole week i'm there) or just use at night or something, because i
  20. Has anyone found a sunscreen or even a moisturizer with SPF that hasn't broken them out or worsened acne? If you could suggest some brands or products that would be great! I've been avoiding sunscreen/ SPF because a lot of people say it does break them out - but I feel like by not using it I'm setting myself up for premature skin ageing or skin issues worse than acne (such as skin cancer). I know I really should be using one, especially because it's always sunny here and I have pale skin.
  21. For some reason when I apply Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 45 it clumps up and starts flaking off. How can I prevent this? I started the DKR 3days ago using neutrogena on the spot treatment and lubriderm for a moisterizer until my shipment arrives. After the moisturizer sets I apply neutrogena over it, but it clumps into pieces ): and flakes off. Can I use this in place of my moisturizer? (my skin is starting to dry out from the BP and I need all the moister I can get)
  22. Is Mineral Makeup Good for Acne?

All makeup contains some minerals, which are necessary for makeup to have color. Pure mineral makeup is makeup that consists only of minerals. In other words, true mineral makeup does not contain any fragrances, water, oils, waxes, or preservatives. Just minerals.1,2 Since pure mineral makeup only contains dry solids, it usually comes in the form of loose or pressed powders.1,2 However, many manufacturers today use the term "mineral makeup" loosely to market a variety of products. 23. Here's How Much Sunscreen You Should Apply

How Much To Use Why Too Little Sunscreen Is a Problem SPF Explained Things to Be Aware of with SPF Other Reasons Why You Might Not Be Protected, Even If You Use Enough Sunscreen Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it is directly exposed to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays, so it is important to do what you can to shield against damage.1 Sunscreen can help, but for the most part, people do not apply enough--far...
  24. Last night was the second night of me skipping the moisturiser and a definite improvement again this morning. If I hadn't used it at all for the last 7 weeks I really do think my skin would be a lot better by now. I guess it just isn't for me. In a morning as a primer over the past two days I have been using Eucerin factor 50 oil control sunscreen. It seems like a great base for make up and I actually ordered it last week from Spain as I couldn't find it in the UK. I wanted this because I have
  25. As many of us do venture out into the sun in these hot summer months, the use of the regimen products can severely burn and damaged our skin; especially if you are active and tend to absorb the sun's harsh rays for 8 hours or more each day. Is any one aware of any helpful sunscreens that: -Have an SPF 15+ -Non-comedogenic -Non-greasy
