  1. Hi guys, What are your thoughts about this idea. Many people say that by regualrly massaging with certain oils and washing face with manuka honey in the morning. They have finally managed their acne. Both of these are processes which affect acne to a superficial level. unlike diet. So do they work even without a diet change (ofcourse that would be a plus). If yes, can we conclude that acne can be controlled by what you put on your face alone as well?
  2. Ive heard some very good things about oil cleansing, and some very bad things. Some people seem to say that after a while,(few weeks, months) they get clogged pores/breakouts/dry skin I was wondering if it's because oil cleansing is more like exfoliating,(removing deep oils in skin/massaging dead skin), and exfoliating often or everyday will dehydrate your skin. or do oils, specifically olive oil, clog pores?

    Oily Forehead: Weather Related?

I am a 21 year old male. I was a senior in highschool in 2010, this is when I first started noticing I had oily greasy forehead skin. In fact, someone pointed it out to me one day and said my head looked really really shiny and made a big deal about it. I still never had hardly even a single zit. After the summer of 2011 I started breaking out horrendously. It was god awful and it was certainly severe acne. (around this time I also got a yorkie dog. I notice that when I take him to the
  4. I've had acne for around 4 years. It's been gradually lessening this past year, but I have these really weird things on the nose-side part of my cheeks. Like, the vertical strips (but not skinny, medium thickness) of skin next to my nose. Maybe they're pores, but they're ridiculously huge and impossible to get rid of, at least with whatever I've tried: cleanser, moisturizer, epiduo, clindamycin is my regimen. http://imgur.com/a/RfATI These are it. How do I close them up? I heard S
  5. Hi everyone, Long time reader, first time poster here. I have been suffering from moderate to severe acne for the last 3 years and I have been using Epiduo/TactuPump. I am also currently on an antibiotic. I apply the cream every night before bed, and without fail I wake up with my T-Zone covered in sebum. I am wondering if the Epiduo is causing this? I also get oily skin 4 hours later into the day. What should I do?
  6. Hey guys! I just wanted to start this topic on the over the counter product, Tea Tree Oil, and post my journey with using this product. So before going any further, I just wanted to give a brief history on my acne. I've had acne since I started puberty...so maybe when I was around 12. I never really knew how to clear it up and did not have much help with my skin so I was practically on my own and I had no idea what to do. All I used at that age was an astringent and it really didnt

Please help my super oily skin!

I used to have acne problems when I was 13 until 15 years old. Right now, being 19, I rarely have acne but I do suffer from extremely oily face and NOTHING works!!! I wash my face twice (morning and night), I always remove my makeup and I exfoliate my skin three times per week and nothing. This is very frustrating because using makeup is the only thing that kind of controls my oiliness and I'd prefer not to use makeup at all Before applying makeup I use milk of magnesia and a primer and I use b
  8. Hey everyone! So it's been quite a while since I've been on here. Well I just took my last accutane pill tonight (5 months) and all I can say is that this has changed my life! My face is not perfect, but I have no problem confidence-wise. I would recommend it to anyone, as the worst side effect I had was probably the occasional back pain (since all of the glands dry up, your back isn't as flexible, so for example lying down caused some discomfort for the first 20 seconds but then went away).

    Moisturiser Shine?

Hey everyone, I'm not very far into this regimen, albeit a few days, but I've noticed that the moisturiser is leaving this strange layer of shine to my face and feels a bit strange to the touch after a good half hour of being applied, as if it's not fully absorbed? (I've used 2 pumps as the regimen says to, my skin is very oily and I noticed it recommends using 1 if I have very oily skin, but it doesn't feel properly moisturised if I use one pump). Is this normal? or is it a case of my ski
  10. Hello everyone! So I've been off of accutane for a month now and my face is starting to get oil again. This of course is giving me anxiety that my acne will come back. For the past month though, I've been doing little things here and there to prevent acne. During this month, I did not get a single pimple. I recently got a tiny one though (you can barely see it) on the side of my mouth, and I believe one is forming on my forehead. That being said, do you have any little secret that I am not doi

    Day 3

A few pimples came to the surface, but this seems pretty normal since I pretty much always have pimples coming and going 24/7. I'm just hoping this is my skin purging the bad stuff and then it'll start to clear up! I'm still not that dry - I MAY be producing a little less oil? I just don't feel the need to blot my face with a tissue in the bathroom nearly as often and I feel like I don't look as shiny as I used to. I think my lips might be a little dry? Still not a huge difference, I'm just tryi

    More skin oil after washing

Hi all, I am somewhat new to this forum so hopefully this isn't a repost. Just looking to see if anyone else has had a similar experience with their skin and what they use to solve it. I have mild breakouts/ acne, however; whenever I wash my face with face wash or just water I get very oily skin and a lot of breakouts. I do not have naturally oily skin, but seem to get really oily skin after swimming in the ocean/ pool, or washing my face directly with water which compounds my acne. I want to t

    Day 107!

So I have been completely acne free for like 2 weeks now. Ive been using the Bio Oil every day and Im starting to see results from that with my acne scars. its making my skin super hydrated and not oily suprisingly. I switched my face wash to Giovanna Dtox and I dont really know how I feel about it yet as it isn't as sudsy as my Basis Cleaner clean face wash but the Giovanni face wash has activated charcoal and goji berry so it sounds good to me. Oh and it has volcanic ash too. I even put t
  14. At the peak of my obsession, my daily routine included scrubbing my face with Clean & Clear “Advantage Clear & Soothe Daily Scrub” and “Morning Energy, Shine Control Daily Facial Wash”, wiping my face with Clean & Clear “Shine Control Daily Facial Lotion” and Neutrogena “Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion”, moisturising with Neutrogena “Pink Grapefruit oil-free moisturiser”. Basically, if a product was in the Boots acne section, I had tried it. If it had the words “Daily” or

Post Accutane Day 45 (With New Regimen)

I currently have no acne on my face. It's smooth and clear. Last week i had a little lump on my cheek but it went away in two days. Perhaps it's all better because of my new regimen: clean and clear BP 10% during the morning, regular Clean and Clear facewash at night followed by Rentin A. It dries my skin after each wash but then oil returns but i have to say, my face isn't as oily as before the 2nd course of accutane AND DEFINITELY not as oily as before as the first time i used accutane.
  16. So my first week of being on 80 mg daily (very first time using accutane) my face actually got more oily. I typically have always had dry skin due to bp washes and all the topical crap is was prescribed through the years, but after a week on tane my face got more oily..idk if this is common or whatnot. I was actually clearing up a bit, but when I started my accutane, I actually did not have many active pimples at that time. On my 2nd week, I seemed to be breaking out with about 4 very minor
  17. Hi everyone, thank you now for taking a min to read my first posting on this site. Like everyone else here, I am an hardcore acne sufferer! I do everything that is recommended, eat clean, don't smoke, take acne meds, etc, etc. It has been a long and hard journey, I have done three rounds of Accutane ( can't do anymore due to liver damage) five rounds of Fraxal laser treatment to help reduce the scars and breakouts, mountains of topical creams and retanoids perscribed by doctors all with min

    Tazorac And Jojoba Oil?

Hi all-- I've been using tazorac for about 3 weeks. I was using Clenia facewash as well but it is too drying. I wanted to see if jojoba oil would moisturize my skin and also help with my acne so I started using it about 4 days ago. I think my acne is starting to calm down (who knows from what). I've been using the jojoba in the morning with my moisturizer SPF and also at night before my tazorac. I read that putting on moisturizer before tazorac is good to do (from the tazorac website), but I

    About Me

Hello everybody! This is a new blog I will be starting which will consist of my life with acne and how I got through high school, community college, college, and now grad. A little background information about me. I have had acne since my senior year of high school and throughout my college career. I have taken multiple acne prescriptions throughout my life. Here is a list of some of the prescriptions: Benzoyl Peroxide Tretinoin Doxycycline Hyclate Clindamycin Phosphate Epiduo Bactri
  20. Hey all, So I have extremely oily skin in combination of dehydrated skin. I suspect that my skin is so dehydrated that my body is overproducing oil to compensate. The thing is I'm at loss on what to do. I drink at least 2L of water each date, applies Sebamed Moisturizing Gel morning and night, and it still feels extremely tight and dry after washing with Sebamed Liquid Body & Face wash. Anyway I'm get recommendations on how often I should wash my skin. Most will suggest the 1x or 2x s
  21. Hello! Im a 22 Y.O. Female, and I used to be an avid lurker on these forums when I had pretty moderate cystic acne a few years back. I tried many things... Dan's regimen, 10% BP, detoxes, oil cleanse, facials, aspirin masks, EPO/birth control, but none of that worked. I finally found something that has cleared my skin completely, but ever since I began experimenting with treatments, the amount of oil I produce is EXTREME. I have to blot about once an hour or my face looks like i've been sweati

    Starting Over Day 1

Sooo.. just thought I'd use this as a place to track everything I'm doing for my skin. If I log, maybe I'll stay on track! Was doing low gi for a few weeks, my skin was getting so much better. Also started juicing a bit and taking extra supplements... until my best friends bday last week and my bfs bday a couple of days ago. Today, I now have about 6 new zits that just sprouted overnight. Could've been anything really.. lIquor, cookies, burgers, brownies, pizza, etc. I'm starting new
  23. IMG]http://i44.tinypic.com/o9k591.jpg My skin gets dried up skin immediately after I exfoliate with just my fingers. It has patches and then when I take them off, it's all red underneath the dead skin patch or whatever it is. I have a cluster of zits all over and I have plugs coming out of my nose pores that are like small and yellow and clear and look like Demodex mites. I used to have clear skin with occasional cysts, but when I moved to my boyfriends apartment from my parents house a year a
  24. So I've been using Jojoba oil, zinc oxide and benzoyl peroxide for the past week. Zinc with benzoyl does not seem like a good idea since my skin got super dry after I washed it. I've got cystic acne on me cheeks, I believe its from touching/pillow but the oil production hasn't decreased yet and zinc is working like a charm(not sure if it's good in the long-run tho). Has anybody else tried doing this? How can I modify this routine to get more results? btw going to stop using bp and see if anythin
  25. 19, 185, male, healthy eating(mostly), athletic, oily skin. I finished my 2nd accutane course, which lasted about 9 months while I was on a low dose for the majority (40mg/day). Although I had many problems, I was acne-free aside from skin irritation towards the end. My doc said that a low dose for longer is good, although research online says the opposite is better (whatever I guess). So now, a month after, I am getting some clogged pores, some are small bumps on forehead, some which are dee
