  1. Skin Condition The acne marks on my cheeks have gone back on track to improvement The discoloration on my lip is also looking improved this morning My chin looking better too. It used to be quite bumpy but this morning it looks really smooth and the any bumps have condensed to 4 tiny whiteheads The most irritation and acne is at the corners of my mouth I have some painful areas on my cheeks and around my mouth. I have lots of tiny hard pimp
  2. My acne is healed. I healed my skin with a combination of: Diet - I do not eat gluten, I avoid dairy products, lots of fruits and vegetables. I still enjoy my food and eat out on occasion. A few months of the caveman regimen (which allowed me to discover that my skin is extremely DRY and SENSITIVE not oily.) Stopping my skin picking habit (took a long time but I no longer touch my face or pick my skin.) The first and most important rule of my current acne routine is that it
  3. Hey guys, So I have been using Cetaphil's gentle cleanser to wash my face for about a year. However, it still dries my face a ton!!! I thought it was supposed to be one of the least drying products out there! If anybody has any experience with another cleanser that might be less drying please let me know. I can't even go swimming without my face looking totally dried and flaky. Please please please let me know if any of you guys are using a product that is less drying. It would help me immense
  4. I've been able to control my acne for a while now. First, using Paula's Choice products and now I'm using mostly oils (predominantly coconut oil). The only thing is that for SOME REASON, the clarity of my skin gives me the excuse to pick at any and all blackheads (and occasional whitehead) on my face. Since I've only ever been able to deal with these by picking, I don't even think TWICE about squeezing them out. But...of course...I end up with inflamed zits around the places I pick afterward
  5. Hello all, I'm new here. I joined because I wanted a forum where I could find out info and skincare for acne-prone, sensitive skin from real people who have the same issues as I do. At the moment I've decided to go all natural, or as natural as possible without breaking the bank, with my facial care. I've successfully switched over to using oils (jojoba and coconut) in place of moisturizers, and witch hazel and rose water as astringents/toners. [sadly I'm still forced to use bp as a spo
  6. Hey guys! I'm having some problems with how best to go about removing my make-up at the end of the day and wanted to get your input on what cleansing wipes or cleansers you've had success with for this purpose. Because I'm using Epiduo at the moment I'm trying to keep added irritation to an absolute minimum so I've been using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser in the morning and at night and my sensitive skin seems to really love the stuff. The problem is that it's completely incapable of re
  7. I just broke out badly after switching from Clean and Clear continuous control acne cleanser (10% BP cream) to Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. Two days ago I had 1 pimple on my chin and now i have 5, my forehead has also broken out badly(to many pimples to count!) Should I switch back to my old cleanser or just wait and see if this clears up? My old regimen Clean and Clear continuous control acne cleanser (10% BP cream) twice a day. Epiduo gel (2.5% BP and .1% adapalene) once at night after
  8. Hi everybody! Thanks to this website I was able to kill off all of my acne and ever since then I have never had a break out ever again (except for the occasional random pimple) I was 18 at the time and I didnt have a credit card so I couldnt buy the products for the Regimen online and I had to use whatever I could get my hands on at the local drugstores. I looked for similar products and they worked amazingly!!! Im so thankful I found this website! Also, the moisturizer I had started to use actu

    Week One

Alright so I skipped a few days because of college midterms, but my skin has improved soooooo much. I have been using garlic and my MB drying lotion for active breakouts. I have about 3 active pimples but they're going away day by day and hopefully won't be accompanied by more. I broke out most where my skin was overly dry and peeling. My 2 stress pimples I got, that I popped have gone flat completely and the one on my cheek has maybe one day left to completely heal. I went to the beach a couple

    Day One: Realization

Day One: Realization Hello and welcome to my blog, I hope you can enjoy these posts and I bring a sense of happiness to your day!:) Firstly I am 18, a recent high school graduate and about to finish my 2-year degree in business. I obviously have experiences with stress - and that's what this first post is going to be all about. Exactly a week ago I went clubbing with my friend for her birthday and some lovely (sarcasm) human being slid my phone out of my pocket and basically stole it. Right t
  11. Hi everyone! Short-time lurker, first-time poster! My acne is mild (a few pimples a month). A while ago I regularly used Phisohex Face Wash. For the past four days, twice a day, I’ve used Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. Both of these products make my whole face dry, and my brows and nose become flaky. A short while ago I went a week of washing my face twice a day with only water, and as a result my face didn’t feel as dry -- and there was no flakiness. Apart from these two products, I don't us
  12. Wanted to start a discussion about the type of mindset that in turn will inform what action we choose to take. I am experiencing a change of approach at the moment. I feel that by using harsh medical treatments I have been in effect 'attacking' my body and trying to mould it in a way that I considered to be 'better', trying to force it into looking the way I want it to look. It's the same mindset that some guys in the gym have when trying to 'make' their bodies into a shape they consider, in
  13. Hello! For the past year or two I have been trying to tackle my acne using The Regimen and other acne products containing salicylic acid. I have come to the conclusion that although these products have helped me get 95% clear, they're really harsh and drying on my skin - especially anything containing salicylic acid and BP. I've narrowed down that my acne was down to having oily skin due to not moisturising (my skin was overcompensating for the oil I stripped from it) and now that I do m

    Day 3

I haven't noticed much change besides some of my previous pimples are coming to a head. That's actually pretty good for me because normally I pick them before they get that far but I haven't picked for three days!! My previous acne scabs also look less irritated and my skin isn't red.. I can't tell if it's from the face washing or from not picking my face. I do have a couple very small new pimples by my eyebrows which is sorta weird but my blackheads look a lot less noticeable. So I'm not exactl
  15. Hey everyone! So I've posted a few topics here over the years about my face routine. However, as of about a month ago, I came across the best, BEST method I've ever used. So much better that I'm never going back to a regular cleanser ever again. Oatmeal. That's it. Regular, PLAIN quaker's oatmeal. I always liked the idea of natural remedies for the face, but didn't think they'd ever work. Some information on me. I'm a 20 year old female. I had moderate to severe hormonal acne
  16. Hey! so around 2015 or so I made a progress report, or journal so to speak on my acne treatment. At the time I was prescribed epiduo for mild/moderate acne, and I've been using it for three years. It worked, it cleared me up and I don't want anyone to get that wrong idea- it isn't "stop working", however I've noticed after research and trial and error that it wasn't right for my skin. A lot of what I've been doing hasn't been right for my skin. I still get breakouts that really bother me, a
  17. My body is prone to easily scaring and healing VERY slowly ever since I was a child. If I slouch in the slightest, the skin on my stomach creases into these defined lines (the same spot every time) It may be from: Lack of sleep Dehydration Stress Poor Eye sign (squinting) but I have FOREHEAD WRINKLES! and I've had (or at least noticed them) for about 3 years! There are theses three lines that go across my fore head, that look like soft wrinkles, but anytime I make a certain expres
  18. I am pulling my hair out trying to pick a cleanser. I used to use a BP 2.5 cleanser but then wanted something ultra gentle so I've been using baby shampoo for the last month. Results haven't been as bad as you'd think. The real big under the skin lasts for weeks types of pimples have stopped (So I feel the BP was causing that.) But, I've broken out a bit with littles ones, especially on my forehead and near my skin. They go away quickly but they still appeared. I REALLY want to keep using a
  19. I recently started using the REN cleansing balm. I love it but I'm a little hesitant to use it too often because it has fragrance in it. It says the fragrance 100% natural, but it smells strong in the product.. It leaves my skin feel great, but I feel like it's a little too rich for morning and evening use. I only use it every second evening right now. I've tried many cleansers (bar, liquid, paste..) and so far I haven't found "the one". I really prefer natural products, preferably organic b
