  1. This is a really long entry documenting my experience/journey with subcision. Subcision part is in bold. * I've had acne since i was about 13 years old. I'm currently 25 years old and throughout the years I've learned how to minimize my acne to the best of my ability. My father had really bad acne growing up as did I. Experts say that acne has nothing to do with diet, however I tend to disagree. I've lived with it for more than ten years now and it wasn't until recently th
  2. I got Deep Fx about 2 months ago. My esthetician put me on a Vitamin C/retinoid serum, but it is not controlling my comedonal acne. I was hoping to swtich the serum with Epiduo, as Epiduo has worked for my skin in the past. But I'm not sure if the ingredients in Epiduo are okay to use after Deep Fx? Will they inhibit my collagen production or my skin's healing? I have young skin, as I am only 18, so I am very prone to breakouts. I need something stronger than a vitamin C serum to control my a
  3. From the album: My Skin

Hey... My skin is looking pretty frickin' good lol. I've been sleeping more these last few days (even going as far as to take naps during the day) & drinking more water. I stopped taking evening primrose oil; it didn't seem to agree with my skin as far as I could tell, but it could've been something else. Right now I'm sticking to Beta Carotene, & added a collagen pill last night. I'm also washing off my makeup again before bed. Good results compared to my last pic. I'm happy.
  4. Hi everyone, hope all are having a good day today. I'm a smoker and yes, I'm aware that smoking does affect your collagen synthesis. I have already done 3 sessions of chemical peel and 3 sessions of fractional CO2 laser. I have a question that's bothering me and I would like to seek all of your advice on this. Each time I smoke, I feel that my scars are indented again although I have already done chemical peeling and lasers. So, does smoking actually make your scars indent again after laser
  5. Hi, I've been suffering from acne & acne scars since high school and during my stay abroad (Canada & Aussie), I got a severe troublesome on my face. By the way I'm Korean woman. The troublesome looked like severe cystic acne and it itched a lot. As I came back to Korea, I got a treatment from Korean oriental clinic, which is similar to derma needing therapy. After the treatment, luckly, I looked a lot better than before, but many ugla scars remained. Because I used to work at sea, I
  6. Hi Friends, Need some suggestions.. Does collagen tablets really helps for skin and complexion. I am seeing one here - http://www.amazon.com/Neocell-Super-Collagen-Vitamin-Tablets/dp/B00028NGEC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you, Ashu
  7. Hi guys I recently started self saline injections. I've noticed that the scars are getting worse or may be they appear so. I've had 3 saline injections so far and my scars appear better for a week but as the week comes to end the scars appear more pronounced and steep. I can't understand what the reason is. Could it be because collagen needs time for build up like post subcision you wait for a month but i've been injecting every week without giving rest to my skin. . Do share your comment please
  8. How Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Reduces Acne Scars (and May Also Help with Acne)

Introduction to TCA How TCA Works on Acne Scars How TCA May Work on Acne TCA Side Effects Efficacy of TCA on Acne Scars and on Acne Summary Introduction to TCA Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is an acid mainly used for the treatment of acne scars, and not acne itself. However, certain properties of TCA may enable it to treat acne. Since TCA is used for the treatment of acne scars, there are not many studies on...
  9. Wound Healing in the Skin

Stage 1: Blood Clotting Stage 2: Inflammation Stage 3: Healing Stage 4: Remodeling Acne Healing The Bottom Line The skin is a complex organ that serves as the body's first protective barrier against the environment. Because the skin is such an important barrier, it must be able to heal itself quickly after an injury, whether the injury is a cut or an acne lesion. The wound healing process is quite complicated. To understand how it works,...
  10. Does Isotretinoin Help with Acne Scars?

Isotretinoin, often known by its brand name, Accutane®, is an oral drug for treating severe acne. It dramatically lowers skin oil production and can provide long-term remission of acne in about 2/3 of people.1,2 However, isotretinoin also comes with serious side effects, including the risk of birth defects, so you should perform extensive research before deciding whether to take it. You may have heard people mention that isotretinoin might reduce existing acne scars as well. However,...

    Day One

Today is Day One of my gut healing protocol. It's basically my last chance to heal my skin, because I have tried EVERYTHING else! Antibiotics (twice,), BC, BP, salicylic acid, accutane (isotretinoin) (couldn't keep going due to horrific side effects so acne came back.) I've tried dairy free, low fat, vegetarian, vegan... you know the drill. After extensive research (we're talking bloody hours trawling the internet and looking at ebooks, blogs, PubMed, etc., I have decided the acne is a direct
  12. Hi! I'm performing dermarolling 1mm and TCA cross on my scars with good success although I would like to know if there are some good creams or pills for increasing collagen production which I can find on Ebay. I know there's a lot but I'm wondering if anyone could show me the best out of those. I heard great things about msm cream which I would like to try out. I'm gonna put on the cream when my TCA cross scabs and dermarolling are healing and after. Thanks!
  13. I had two sessions of RF Micro needling treatment with a 40 days Gap in between the two sessions, for 2 days after each treatment my scars looked lift up and i felt good and after that my scars went to where they were before, And also i see a significant amount difference in scars during mornings times when i wake up and the same old depressed scars in the evenings or after i am tired. So is there any chance that my scars will show any improvement and if so how many treatments should i undergo a
  14. I am sort of cross posting this, as the combination works as a mask, but my TCM Dr recommended Pearl Powder and Royal Jelly to take orally and topically. Pearl Powder once a week in tea and as a replacement for calcium, my research has revealed, and Royal Jelly 1 tbsp a day. Both of these are considered historic fountains of youth as well as acne treatments. The coconut oil was recommended by my nutritionist friend, to replace oils I've lost with age, through over-treating, and lacki
  15. Does Sun Exposure Make Acne Scars Worse?

As many as 95% of people who have had acne have at least some measure of scarring.1,2 Despite how common these scars are, scientists do not know much about how ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun influences scarring.3 Only two studies have been performed so far: Study 1: On animals Study 2: On humans Results from these studies are conflicting. The Animal Study One study performed on rabbits found that UV light reduced the size of scars. But remember, this study...
  16. If You Use Retinoids, Will You Get Younger-looking Skin as You Treat Your Acne?

As far back as 3000 years ago, Egyptians used vitamin A from rat livers to treat various health problems. Scientists confirmed the necessity of vitamin A in normal skin health and appearance in the early 20th century. By 1968, scientists began developing synthetic vitamin A derivatives, called retinoids, which were safer and provided improved clinical efficacy. Dermatologists then began prescribing topical retinoids for the treatment of acne. Scientists first developed the retinoid called tretinoin. However, today...
  17. Hello, I’m writing this because after 5 years of struggling with embarrassing adult acne, I have found a cure for my particular situation. Approxiamtely 5 years ago, when I was 32, I began breaking out with mild acne on my scalp and around my cheek bones, and anywhere I had hair follicles. There were also areas on my thieghs and upper arms that would get pimples. I dealt with it for a while, but it seemed to progressively get worse. After devouring every bit of info on the internet, I tried
  18. This is me 3 days shy of my 2 month mark since the start of Dan's regimen. In fact, these photos are doing my skin justice, because the red marks are far more evident in person. Here's a quick re-cap of my past 2 months. So I began February 9th, 2017 and have done mostly everything exactly as outlined in the regimen's instructional video, and text. I say "mostly" because I did experiment with reducing my BP to only 1.5 pumps for a couple of days during my week 6. I tried this because th
  19. Hello! I was wondering if any of you have tried red light therapy for superficial scarring. I did a treatment yesterday as part of a facial, along with blue light and high frequency, and today my skin looks more plump and my scars are barely noticeable under makeup. I tried portable red lights before, but this time the aesthetician had me lay under the red light for 15 minutes (it seemed very strong, I had to put goggles on), after 15 minutes under a blue light that covered my entire face. Ev
  20. Chase your CoQ10 capsules on an empty stomach, :30 before breakfast and before bed at least two hours after eating, with this cocktail: 1) a scoop of collagen powder 2) 1/2 tsp MSM powder 3) 1 tsp of tumeric (I use tumeric and sandalwood) **4) optional- for stress- open a capsule of GABA and mix in, skip the coffee it's bad for your skin!!** 8 oz of water CoQ10 is more bioavailable when taken with MSM- this is an integral part of the famous Perricone Prescription.
  21. Hello all, i had 2 subcision treatments, one of them left me with a raised scar. I guess I was not a good candidate. I am now waiting to see a bew doctor who can hopefully help me make it go away. I had 2 fraxel treatments and 1 co2. I noticed that after my 3rd laser treatment, which was the co2 that was done at the same time with my second subcision, so as I stsarted healing my cheeks started losing collagen. Basically the skin is kind of flat and wrinkled, very noticable especially when
  22. Also, does anyone know if your oil/collagen/sebum barrier has anything to do with facial blushing/flushing? I know that accutane ruins your skins natural barrier because it gets rid of oil and such (which is definitely true in my case at least). For that possibility that it has something to do with flushing/blushing, i want to know how to rebuild this barrier NATURALLY. I have def learned natural is the way to go. TIPS FOR REBUILDING COLLAGEN? SEBUM?
  23. I I'm 31 and have had acne problems since I was 16. I ordered the regimen today and will post pics soon. I tried everything you can think of over the years. I drink plenty of water and barely eat any red meats. The most fried food I eat are french fries. I've done proactive, basically all of the neutrogena products, collagen powder, pantothenic acid, aloe vera leaf, AKN skin care, Ambi products, birth control and the list goes on and on. I will say that I do have some hormonal issues so maybe t
  24. How Exfoliation Helps with Acne

Exfoliation refers to the removal of dead skin cells. This happens naturally when dead skin cells fall off to be replaced by new skin cells in a constant process of turnover. However, in acne-prone skin, this process slows down and pores become clogged. Therefore, products that exfoliate the skin can help. Products that exfoliate the skin come in two types: Chemical exfoliants: These are acids that are applied topically to the skin. You can purchase over-the-counter products containing...
  25. Hello all, I write here today as I am a bit desperate... (sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker) I am 20 years old and have had acne for the past 7 years. I have been on antibiotics (3 time), and Diane 35 for 6 months (it worked but made me feel sick so I stopped it.) I decided to quite every chimical product and try something more natural. But oils are not for me, and I feel sometimes that the natural approach is not doing anything for me. I cut out dairy, but I sometimes make
