  1. I'm still breaking into month 3 (on 40mg) of accutane. I never really got massive cysts before taking accutane but now i'm covered in them on my chin and jawline. My face looks a LOT worse than it ever has because i've got so much hyperpigmentation, scars and cysts right now. I'm just feeling really down as school starts next week and i'm feeling more paranoid than ever about my face and looking people in the eye. All i've been using is cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer cream along with drinking
  2. Hi. This is horrible. I got 5 new white pimples on each cheek.. I'm at the end of the WEEK 4.. It's not normal.. I also got 4 redness spots on the nose today and I absolutly don't know why. I've a simple diet with few meat and no milk (including no butter, no cream, no cheese..etc) Please if you experienced the same thing, tell it to me! I don't want to break out again I also need to buy a new regimen kit, (It Takes 3 weeks to deliver) but i'm hesitating because of this breakout.. Hel

    Day 24

So I've decided to start a blog about my journey on accutane. This is my first entry and it's already day 24. I am currently taking 10 mg, but I hope to be given a higher dose at my next dermatologist appointment. Before accutane my skin wasn't horrible but I definitely did have acne, and it is a HUGE blow to my confidence. I literally hide out in my house and refuse to go anywhere or do anything. I have damaged a lot of relationships with friends and family because I am so self conscious when i
  4. Just curious what everyone is avoiding because it causes break outs. For me, dairy is my worst enemy. I can't enjoy ice cream, milk, or moderate quantities of yogurt without paying the price. I have found that kefir is ok though, probably due to the added bacteria helping me digest the lactose. I haven't noticed anything else though. What about you? What foods cause you to break out? I have heard stories that citrus and other weird foods cause some to break out.

    Moisturiser yes or no?

I know I should be moisturising my whole face, but I've had a terrible hormonal breakout since coming off birth control pill (revigidon- my skin was perfect and flawless when I was on it ) anyway since coming off it awful hormonal acne, this week it is all around my chin and mouth- I went for a sunbed to try and heal it, skin feels so dry now of course but should I moisturise the actual breakout area or just leave to heal itself? Terrified of making it worse.....
  6. I always try and do a spot test on my neck or forehead when I get a new product...like a cleanser or face cream, but it seems that "testing" doesn't work because some pores get clogged while others don't. For example, I'll test my jaw line...cause if I get a zit there, I can easily hide it, it will pass my 3 day test of just applying the new product in that one region...then I will use it all over my face...then WAM I have random zits on my temples and cheeks, not every pore, but some that were
  7. So after a recommendation from a friend I'm trying vitamin A for my acne, I know that an overdose can kill you so I've been quite careful and am having 5000 iu twice a day. first question: is that a safe amount? And is it enough? I started maybe two or three weeks ago I'm not really sure and saw no effect to begin with, now I am having gross huge yellow pustules among the usual bumps. And more than the norm of those too. Is this my skin purging? I mean there was a day in there where I wore
  8. I was eating gluten free cornchips and bean dip. and I was eating some chicken strips and some tacitos... and some gluten free pumking pie will any of these break me out?
  9. I go training a lot lately and i need a carb boost to get through the workout. Today i "accidentally" had 93grams of sugar. Not added of course , it was an all natural smoothie mixed with some salad and green tea. It was a really intense workout about 90 mins so i know i would have used up the sugars, it seems likely that i will break out from this despite the exercise as you would still theoretically release the same amount of insulin if you didn't exercise and drank the smoothie. So what happe

    One Month Of Tri-Previfem: Help

I have been on this birth control for 1 month so far and I have been experiencing the worst breakouts. I started birth control for reasons other than acne. My face was pretty clear before birth control and I had never gotten any body acne before using Tri-previfem. I have been getting huge zits within the first month of this pill. Two large cysts on my Chin and two large cysts on my nose. In the past I have only broken out on my chin during that time of the month and that was about it. Now it's
  11. Im on day 20. Last 7 days have been hell. My face started to break out more than ever before and it was so painful too. Two days ago my face looked kinda good and I hoped that the IB was over but today I woke up with alot of new acne on my face. When my face is supposed to get better this is so depressing... My dose is low 20mg a day and i asked my derm about the IB and she said i probably wont get one because of the dose but here i am almost crying..
  12. I went to the dermatologist 3 weeks ago and he prescribed me doxycycline and Epiduo gel. At first my face was clearing up dramatically but within the last few days it broke out badly. I have noticed that the clearer my skin got the more I touched my face, I guess I was making sure it was still clear, could this have caused this breakout?
  13. I've always had problems with acne but I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight about why this is happening. I recently moved from an apartment which had city water and my acne was under control for the most part. I just moved back into the outskirts of the city to a house which uses well water. I've been here since Saturday and I haven't drank any of the water, just used iced cubes. I do drink a lot of water at work and since I moved back all I've been drinking is store bought water. I had
  14. For the most part, I had mild acne for a few years ( I'm 16 now). I've always been decently active, and I eat okay. Then at the end of this school year in early June, I started breaking out like mad (I would classify it as moderate-severe), but only on my cheeks. The rest of my face would just be clear.I would get these small bumps that would turn into huge whiteheads over the course of a day. I got these in addition to the normal whiteheads that would just appear. I started taking a multivitamin

    Sudden Breakout?

Hello everyone. I am 20 years old, and haven't had problem skin for about a year now. I got put on birth control and found out I was allergic to gluten and dairy, and ever since then my skin has been perfectly clear. However, a couple weeks ago I woke up with tiny red bumps all over my forehead (I think they're papules). They're really only noticeable when you look really close or touch my forehead. I also noticed that the sides of my nose are bumpy as well, but those bumps aren't visible at all
  16. Hello everyone I'm a 20 year old male and I'm in dire need of help. The inflammation you see in my photo has been there for atleast a year now. It's never gone completely away and right now it's at one of the worst points it's ever been at. I went to a dermatologist and was given benzacliln and amoxacillin and I found that the benzaclin, being a steroid, made it worse so I figured it may be Perioral dermatitis and it was making it worse. Absolutely NO IDEA what this is but the rest of my skin i
  17. Hi. I have pretty mild acne, it used to be worse with a lot of small forehead pimples but I started using Paulas Choice Clear acne line about 2 months ago which I liked, it worked pretty well and my face was mostly clear for a while, only very occasional small pimples on my forehead or cheeks that went away quickly. However recently I started my volleyball season again at school and therefore have been sweating a lot and think this might have to do with me getting more acne past couple weeks. I

    Football & Acne

Hi all, I am starting football quite soon and am worried about acne. I was hoping to get some reassurance/help. What I currently do when I get home after practice (5-10 mins usually) is wash my face with a deep cleaning cleanser. After I wipe my face with a medicated salicylic acid cleansing pad. Then I moisturizer. Then I spot treat pimples with BP. Please tell me if it will work this season. I need help. Thanks! WadeX
  19. Hey! My acne was clearing up, until lately… I was so hopeful that my acne was under control and would soon be over!! But i'm having a bad breakout (including a cystic acne breakout) and I can't help but wonder if it has to do with the weather change (summer to fall). I've noticed that last year around this time I had a bad breakout. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Week 16 50Mg

A bit early but I need to update, so I went on holiday with 1 active cyst, felt 2 more cysts and a few pimples developing during the journey there. I felt horrible and couldn't believe I was getting such a severe breakout just as I was going away, nothing could describe the despair and anxiety I felt stood in an airport with everyone looking at me and my boyfriend and hs family who have never seen it so bad. Howeverrr, something really unusual happened, by the end of the day, every single cyst

    Help!

So I started the Regimen 3 weeks ago and had great results at first, I was completely clear by week 2. Now, in week 3 I'm experiencing a breakout, why?! I've followed the Regimen exactly. Maybe I need to use more BP? I'm using half a finger twice a day. I'm just worried that this is going to be like Proactive, where it worked for a while but then suddenly stopped working. I've ordered the acne.org kit as well as the AHA and jojoba oil but I haven't recieved it yet so I've been using stor
  22. Hello hello, It has been well over a month since my last post. I think as the tablets become a daily routine and as your skin starts to clear up, you just seem to forget how big of a deal it was when starting on them and therefore forget to update! So lets just recap... Month 1 I was on 20mg a day - had a horrendous breakout (worst I've very had in my life) Month 2 I was upped to 30mg a day - Breakout continued and was not seeing much improvement. I was almost givi

  24. Wassup guys I just made a profile, I'll try to make this as short as possible? I'm 21 years old(nov 18 dob) I'm a guy and I've never had acne as severe as I have it right now, I don't have insurance right now so a dr (derm) isn't really an option, my mom put me out and I moved in with my grandmother and that's just about when all hell broke lose, I've eliminated dairy out of my diet, I used the panoxyl 10% , it worked for a little bit but ....yeah u know how that goes, I'm a very lightskinned m
  25. Hello, This is my first post so I'll start with a brief history of my acne struggles: I'm 23 and have had mild to moderate acne since I was 13, on my face, neck and back. After trying pretty much 'everything' from harsh chemical washes, scrubs and nappy rash cream, nothing really made much difference to my skin. Recently I've been making an effort to eat more healthily (in the past my diet has been very poor), exercise more and drink green tea (I'd actually recommend this for general hea
