Pros:

Making my skin feel tight and more firm. Red spots and scars are literally disappearing.

Cons:

Dry skin. Obvious upset stomach if I don't eat a full meal with it. But that's not hard to manage. I think everyone should stop complaining about that and just take it with food.

It's only been a week and my face broke out somewhat harshly when I first started. But I can feel it working the same way accutane did. It's making my skin tight, the pores are shrinking and I'm not getting pimples not for 2 days. We'll see how it lasts. To be fair, I have been taking 50mg a day along with A and B-6. So I dunno if it's the combination or one single vitamin working...but I think it's gonna work. I faith!!! hah. I've tried so much nonsense to try and get rid of acne. Aside from my accutane period (which cleared everything) I've battled it since I was 12. I'm 21 now and it's REALLY bad on my chest and back. And moderate on my face. But they get real big and red so even just a few pimples looks REALLY bad. The zinc is helping that though! I recommend giving it a try! At night I also use some BP. That usually helps it along to but also contributes to the drying. Good luck to all of you and I'll let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed this time!

Pros:

Zinc works wonders, my skin has never been this clear.

Cons:

Will get nauseated, even with food.

After suffering for a long with acne, going to dermatologists and using antibiotics for years, I decided to try zinc. I can not believe how well it works for me. It has done more for my skin than any antibiotic or retin-a. I still get a few spots (usually hormone related), but overall my skin is crystal clear. I am so grateful I actually tried this.

Pros:

It works for me.

Cons:

Can deplete copper in your system if you take to much. Need to take a copper supplement.

Make sure if you are taking more than thirty mg a day that you take a copper supplement. Zinc depletes copper in your system. You can get it at any health food store. I have been taking zinc between 50mg and 75mg a day for months and it definitely helps. Not perfect but way better then it was before. Hope this helps.

Pros:

Very effective, quick, easy to use (just swallow)

Cons:

None, just take with a meal

Zinc is very effective. I've been on it for 3 weeks, and my skin is nearly perfect. I've never had horrible skin, but I've had persistent acne since I was 15 (now almost 20). After a week I saw results as new pimples slowed development and existing ones went away. I usually break out every two weeks (2 good, 1 bad), but this time it was very small and manageable, and went away in a weekend. Three weeks later, I'm 99% clear (one little guy remains). I take 50mg a day with breakfast. I also take fish oil capsules, and I do Dani's regimen. I've tried countless treatments over the years, and this is the first one that has really worked. I highly recommend giving it a try for 4-8 weeks.

Pros:

Cheap, easy to use, quick effect.

Cons:

Even small doses can make you feel ill in your stomach - best taken with food.

i get comedone type acne only, by that i only mean tiny whiteheads. i dont need to use any medication or anything since it doesnt actually look like i have acne but even whiteheads bothered me enough to try zinc. i noticed the whiteheads start to appear after i cut red meat from my diet, apparently red meat is an excellent source of zinc so i got a 60tablet pack of 15mg zinc sulphate from my local boots (for £3.02!) and ive been taking one a day after lunch for a week now. although my face was only mildy moist before, i noticed on my second day of taking the tabs that my face stayed very dry the whole day, my pores had a closed appearance and i stopped getting whiteheads. i will continue to take a tablet a day to maintain the result.

Never thought this would work for me!

Pros:

works fast!
prevents big pimples
easy to find and cheap

Cons:

little bit of nausea.

i was tired of doing 3 step topical treatments twice a day. i guess im kind of lazy. lol and i also really wanted to get rid of my acne from the inside out because i have back acne too and im embarrassed to wear anything sleeveless. i take prescription meds (not for acne) in the AM and PM so i just put the zinc pills in each daily slot of my pill organizer so i never forget to take them. i really didnt think it would work cause my acne is STUBBORN but after about 5-7 days no big pimples showed up, my old acne started going away, and ive only gotten like 2-3 new small pimples instead of the usual 10ish new pimples after a period of 5-7 days. my complexion even looks different somehow. in a good way of coarse. ive been taking 100mgs of nature valleys zinc everyday. cheap stuff you can get at freakin walmart. 50mgs in the morning and 50mgs at night i doubled the dose that the directions said since im using it specifically for acne and not as an every day health supplement. i can only imagine it getting better from here! i just cant believe its working after just a week! if i can keep forcing myself to do a three step acne system at least once a day, preferably at night because sleeping right after treating my skin makes the results to be alot better in the morning, then combining the two will hopefully clear up my skin 80%-90% in a couple weeks. im even considering adding another 50mg zinc pill to see if it will work faster/better. im just so excited that my complexion is clearing up so fast! i just hope this doesnt backfire on me. i recommend this to EVERYONE! if it doesnt work for you then you should just continue to take the zinc till the bottle is empty cause zinc is good for you anyways. oh and the reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it does cause a tad bit of nausea if you dont take it with a good amount of food in your stomach.
