Pros:

- Skin less oily
- Breakouts much less

Cons:

- Waiting 8 for my package to arrive. Package comes from Australia.

Overall very happy! After doing some reading on Vitamin B5 I decided to give SkinB5 a try. SkinB5 requires 3 dosages a day and within 3-4 weeks I started noticing good results. Well worth a try as I've tried every product out there and this has been the best so far.

Pros:

Acne is almost gone, less oily skin

Cons:

Drying out skin on other areas of the body

This really seems to be working. My skin is almost acne free. Even when I do get a pimple it is much smaller than usual. My only complaint is that I'm getting dry patches on other areas of my body. I've only been doing this for about 2-3 weeks now and my face is 100 times better than before.

Pros:

- None

Cons:

- Didn't do much
- Causes B vitamins imbalance

Tried it for a few month (1g a day), it didn't do anything for me, or nothing that I was aware of.

Just didn't work for me. Now I use Apple cider vinegar and it works great.

Pros:

Amazingly my back acne disappeared after just one week taking 2 B5's at night. My skin was okay...I think I needed to take the pill longer to get any results.

Cons:

HAIR LOSS!??!? That is a side effect of this vitamin. I don't care If my whole face is one big pimple, I'm not going to prematurely lose my hair over it. I don't know if I was overly paranoid but I think I did notice some evidence of hair loss.

B5 may work for you but be wary of its side effects. I personally became too paranoid and discontinued the use of B5. I hear Red Clover is good as it helps to control bacteria and raging hormones.

Pros:

works great (for a while)

Cons:

You have to take at least 10g (10,000mg) / day. Also, it took me about 6 weeks before it started to work. Also, it only worked for a year (at that dosage, i didn't try higher)

a temporary, and not very cheap, but amazingly effective solution

Pros:

I tried this in the past, I did it for about a month. I saw no new break outs, but did nothing to kill existing pimples any quicker. Now I realize I wasn't taking a b-complex, so I will try it again, and this time with a b-complex.keep ya' posted!

Cons:

Nothing that I noticed. My hair was fine, but I have very oily skin and I did not notice any reduction, again, I was taking no b-complex and the woman at the vitamin store said without a b-complex vitamin it won't absorb at all. So we shall see.

Will post back in 5 days when the bottle is empty and let you all know.

Pros:

Almost immediate result. The right dosage seems to stabilise my skin.

Cons:

Beneficial but not a miracle cure for me, and too high a dose made me look ill and affected my hair.

The problem with acne is that left on its own the day-to-day severity can vary so much, for no apparent reason. It is therefore very difficult to test out the effects of a new product. However B5 did have an immediate and dramatic effect on me. At 2g per day it dried out my skin and seemed to stabilise it. I did however look a little ill (although I didnt feel any different). My hair suffered badly too (like I'd used the wrong shampoo). At 3g per day I looked like I had died a couple of days previously. 10g per day sounds like nonsense to me. I have settled for 1g per day for now ' which seems a good compromise.

Pros:

Reduces oil
Reduces breakouts
Reduce cystic pimples

Cons:

Not a miracle cure

B5 has worked wonders for me. I found that 6grams daily (four 500mg tablets three times or 3 pills 4 times a day) is the right amount to control my acne. If I eat greasy/oily foods, I'll add another gram. And that's the beauty of this supplement. Once you find your ideal dosage, adjust for abnormal food intake. This isn't an excuse to have a bowl of fries, but if I do, I just increase the dosage the next two intakes. It's not an overnight cure. Start with about 4-6 grams a day, and adjust until you feel the oil production is controlled. In my case, my lips started to feel really dry... Not scientific, but you'll have to judge your own body. If it works, buy the generic B5 (pantothenic acid) online. I buy mine from puritan's pride and its fairly inexpensive for 3-6 bottles of 100 500mg tablets. Good luck... Control your diet and don't go crazy with the dosage.
