Pros:

First half year it cleared me up... then 7months later my acne came back.

Cons:

BIG PILLS to swallow

it's a reason to give "interpharm inc" income... they prolly pay doctors to perscribe it. just tell your doctor you don't want to be a guinea pig and to give you something that ALWAYS has results.

Pros:

Cleared up about 95% so far. Works swiftly. VERY CHEAP!

Cons:

You MUST drink water while on this medication or you will feel parched. You MUST eat something with this medication or you will feel slight stomach sickness . It has not cleared up blackhead as of yet.

It works! My skin looks better than it has in years and I imagine it will only get better with time.

Pros:

Worked very quickly. I have had acne my whole life. I took acutane which worked wonders but acne came back. Starting taking this and had great results yet again.

Cons:

I keep hearing of crazy side effects but it maybe have me an upset stomach a few times over a year period

If you have huge boil/cyst acne, this will work great for you. I never had one cyst while one this medication. I would tend to have one every other month when not taking it. Its cheap and works great quickly. I did stop taking it and my face broke out again. Just started taking it again...

Pros:

it worked from the day i started until the day i quit. really did clear up my acne which made me so ecstatic

Cons:

two weeks later i had a severe allergic reaction. first i had fevers and body aches, then i broke out into a whole body rash.

this was actually the first product that has ever made my face so clear. it felt so uplifting. but then i had a severe allergic reaction to it, so i stopped taking it. my dermatologist had warned me about it, but i'm not allergic to anything so i thought that i wouldn't be allergic to sulfa drugs. i started breaking out a little bit after stopping, but its not as bad as how my acne was before. i've been just using retin a cream, which didn't work before, but now it is. i also used minocycline before this and that did nothing but worsen my acne. bactrim works, but its a risk with having a reaction or not.

great medacation all you have t do is pop to pills a day and it was free for me becuase of my dads heath plan

Pros:

easier than using a system such as Proactiv

Cons:

awkwardly large pill, takes ages to see results

I don't have cystic acne, only whiteheads, but I have a ton of them. sulfa- made my acne the worst its ever been in the 6 years ive had it, but eventually let up. ive yet to see real results, but i'm still hoping. also, the pill is breakable, so split it in half and just take both halves separately- much less pain that way :)

Pros:

Clears up skin, its amazing, a dream I waited too long for...

Cons:

You can be allergic to it...

I've been taking it for 3 weeks and I think I might be allergic to it since I've developed a rash but it's in the same area I touched the cat and I'm allergic to cats. So I'm not sure if it was the medicine or not but if your not allergic it'll be the best. It's been the best for me...

Pros:

Unfortunately, I have cyste acne also and I am allergic to amoxicyln and tetricycline and Doxycylin worked for me for about a year and wore off after that. My Derm put me on Bactrim and I've been on it for two years now and is the best thing for me.

Cons:

When I first took bactrim I did get a little nausiated, so I started taking it when I eat and now I have no problems and it works great.

Great option for those people allergic to other antibiotics. May need to take with food. Very good at clearing up cyst acne.

Pros:

Easy to take
No nausea

Cons:

Small rash on wrists (similar to tiny mozzie bites)

Got sunburnt very easily

Within a couple of days of starting a course of Bactrim DS, the skin on my back started clearing up and I do not get large papules anymore. However, it seems to be targeting the back more than the face which is a bit of a shame really.
