Pros:

Doesn't cause sensitivity to the sun

Cons:

bad side affects from what i've heard

Im just started this medicine because it doesn't cause sensitivity to sun like my previous antobiotic Doryx i hope this one works just as good! so far i havn't seen much improvement but i'm only on the 2 day well see how it takes me!

Pros:

The medicine is inexpensive and has low side effects. The other anti-biotics I have taken cause pretty severe sensitivity to the sun, but I did not expereince this with Bactrim.

Cons:

I have mild-severe scalp acne. The bactrim does not completely stop break outs, but it does prevent the larger postules from forming.

There are more powerful anitbiotics available, but they have stronger side effects. Bactrim will probably cure your mild acne problems, but it doesn't perform as well for severe cases.

Pros:

This medicine works! I have done everything. you name it i've done it...literally. My acne is under the skin so it's a little more complicated to heal but this medicine knocks it out.

Cons:

IF you miss a day of taking this medicine you will have a break-out. Makes mouth dry.

I've tired everything under the sun for acne. it's hopeless to cure my acne with a ointment or a fash wash...won't happen this is my only choice in not having acne.

Pros:

I guess it worked a little bit.

Cons:

Huge pill, nausea,

Most people said this worked for them but it DID NOT work for me. I didn't have an allergic reaction but its almost like it didn't affect my skin at all. And it made me lose weight like crazy. Which shouldn't be a problem but for someone already being 20-30 pounds underweight it was quite an issue for me. You think for all those side effects it'd work like a mirace but nooope, not for me.

Cons:

Pros:

Worked very well, pretty quickly

Cons:

rash

Bactrim is not expensive... even w/ out insurance. It worked really well to get rid of my acne with in only 2 1/2 weeks! But i did get a mild rash on my stomach. :-(

Pros:

Seems to work quickly even when other medications won't

Cons:

Warning-High levels of allergic reactions

Started to work after 10 days and things were looking good until...itchy hives and a rash on my legs. I would give it a try if other mild antibiotics aren't working out, maybe you will have better luck.

Pros:

-Did clear my skin very quickly

Cons:

-Can kill you if you are allergic
-Other negative side effects
-Diarrhea
-Only worked for a very short period of time and then broke me out worse

Bactrim was the last/latest antibiotic my dermatologist put me on. It worked VERY quickly and cleared up my skin in about a week, it was literally the clearest it had been probably since the time before when I was on antibiotics. However, this only lasted a short while and I started getting cystic acne, which I rarely ever get. After my third or maybe fourth cyst I decided that the Bactrim was causing this and I stopped taking it immediately (which, by the way, don't ever listen to the instructions that you are supposed to consult your doctor before stopping medication. That is just a ploy to make more money off you for a doctor's visit) and wouldn't you know it, NO MORE CYSTS. It all culminated with me getting one of the largest if not THE largest zit i've ever had on my forehead, from which I still have a scar (a couple scars really, because one cyst led to another). So I do not think Bactrim or any antibiotic is the way to go, they may help for a while but they never solve your problems and in fact they are very bad for your body. I have started taking probiotics in hopes of reversing the damage all the antibiotics probably did to my digestive system. Also you have to get used to having diarrhea every day of your life, but I already have that so I am used to it. I am 100% convinced that doctors do not wish to fix your problems but rather treat them so you are never cured and you have to keep going back so that doctors and pharmaceutical companies make lots of money off you. Everything, EVERYTHING is about money, which holds higher value than people. There is no hope for the human race and I pray for its destruction every night and day.
