Pros:

Works fast, and effectively. Withing a few days my acne went down, didnt make me sick, don't see much sun sensitivity

Cons:

Unsure about the long-term side effects. I have taken this before, and remember my acne becoming kind of resistant to it after a year.

Great product to cure the problem temporarily, however it does a lovely job. Known in Israel as Depsyl Forte, and don't let some arrogant doctor try to tell you that you can't take it cause it's not for acne.

Pros:

Cleared up my moderate and cystic acne. I've taken it for 2 years. It's been a god sent, I'm no longer self conscience about my face.

Cons:

I wonder how long I can stay on this med. My doctor is trying to lower my dosage, but the acne starts to creep up again.

It's been a god sent, I'm no longer self conscience about my face. It also has an extra benefit for me. I no longer get painful boils on my body. All in all, I highly recommend looking into it.

Pros:

Cleared up Acne in no time. I have tried EVERYTHING (minocin, birth control pill, Doxycycline, tetracycline, you name it I have tried it.... including Accutane. My Obgyn prescribed this for me and it has been a GODSEND!

Cons:

Pill is a little big but the pros outweigh the cons

I live in the south and this is one of the drugs that is free from ourr grocery store. So I don't pay ANYTHING to take it! Gotta love that. If you have tried EVERYTHING else and nothing seems to work....give this drug a shot.

Pros:

My skin began to clear up within a month, by two months my skin is smooth, I have less and less breakouts and old acne has begun to fade. I am now into taking it for my 3rd month and my face has never been clearer

Cons:

Can't say there are any.

I've had acne for 4 years. Its gotten worse and better over the years but my face has never been as clear as it is now (well at least since I had acne). My skin is a lot less oily, it is much clearer and all old acne slowly clears away. Used with aczone cream and microbenz wash

Pros:

Softer skin, no side effects, cleared me up within 8 weeks - ONLY THING THAT WORKED FOR ME. DR. said I can be on it til I die.

Cons:

The pill is a bit big - that's all

I have had acne since age 11. I am 22 and was done with topicals - this is the best thing that has ever happened to my skin

Pros:

Cleared up my face

Cons:

big pill

Took it for a year straight, cleared up my skin completely, now when I stopped for 4 months, I have a terrible breakout. I get horrible scars and its really discouraging after experiencing clear skin. I started Bactrim again now, but am wondering what effects on my body to take such a strong Abx so long. Im already resistant to Doxy, Mino. So I found something that works, now what... im in my early 30s..... I recommend for anyone who has not had luck with other Abx

Pros:

This stuff cleared up my skin in just a few days. My acne has been very severe and painful, and I think it is caused by taking lithium. Bactrim has been amazing for me!

Cons:

Big pills are hard to swallow, have to take twice a day but it's all worth it

Works really well for my medication based severe acne. My face pain was reduced the day I started taking it.

Pros:

Just began taking this med, and hope there will be lots of pros in the follow up! Very cheap with insurance!

Cons:

Just began, so hopefully I won't experience any. Have heard of all the side effects with Sulfa drugs. I pray to God I don't have a problem with this drug, as I am done going in to the derm saying I am allergic and need a new pill.

I used to be on Minocycline before breaking out into hives. Derm recommended this instead. I have heard all about the side effects of Steven-Johnsons Syndrome and Blood count lowered, and the ever present allergic reaction. I pray I can tolerate this med, and be able to have clear skin again!
