Pros:

none!! but I did learn I am allerergic to sulfa. (my first allergy ever)

Cons:

huge pill, hard to go down, very bad allergic reactions

this pill was HORRIBLE for me. I started it 3 weeks ago. about 1 1/2 weeks into it I had a fever of 103 and had swollen lymph nodes and a severe migrane and chills. I went to immediate care but the idiot on call doc. said it was the flu. So now 2 days ago I started getting a rash. Today i went to the doctor with a rash on my legs, arms, hands, and worse of all it traveled from my legs to my butt to my back. I also have a sore throat and a bad hedache. My doc. said its good i came in as soon as i did b/c it could have gotten worse if i didnt stop the pill.

Pros:

It clears up acne and if you stay on it, you will continue to stay clear for the most part. i was on it for almost 2 years and had very clear skin.

Cons:

after i went off of it for a few months I began to have mild breakouts which eventually got significantly worse.

it will help your acne, but it's not a long term solution. i'm 21 years old now. i'm hoping that i will grow out of my acne soon. hopefuly if i take this for another year I can go off without having any major breakouts. otherwise, i suppose i will have to go on accutane, even though i sincerely dread it. Good luck to everyone.

Pros:

Yup it sure cleared up body acne and facial lumps and bumps!

Cons:

Red rash that appears out of nowhere, I cant sleep! This stuff keeps me awake cos my body just aches after 2 weeks into this, im on the 800mg dosage. And man do my joints and muscles ache, headaches lots of headaches and you pretty much feel like poo

As a body builder, im currently fighting acne due to triggered hormones produced from all the exercise im doing. This stuff works but man do you feel like its working against you especially in the gym.

Pros:

Have seen improvement, generic version is inexpensive

Cons:

Long-term use, potential allergic reactions

I have been on Septra DS for 6 months and have seen a great improvement in my skin, however, I am using it in combination with Retin-A (10 months), so I'm not sure which (or both) is causing the improvement. I was very hesitant to use this because I've heard a lot about allergic reactions, both mild and severe. Luckily I have not experienced any adverse reaction to this medication.

Pros:

Clears skin fast. I havent had any breakouts what so ever since starting. Seriously not one new spot. I am amazed its crazy, ive been on other antibiotics but nothing compares to Bactrim DS. Im only taking it until I go on Accutane 5 weeks from now.

Cons:

Give's me a yeast infection, so I dont want to stay on it for too long. I dont like the ideal of taking antibiotics for long periods of time. Im gonna do Accutane and get it over with. I am clear now but once I stop the Bactrim I will break out.

This stuff works and fast so its worth a shot, especially if you have something important coming up in a few weeks. Some people are allergic to it so be careful. Im all good though except for the whole yeast infection but im taking care of that and also bought some yogurt which will help too.

Pros:

the hope of one more pill that works quickly

Cons:

sucks that i became immune to doxy then mino, now i have acne a 3 time i have to deal with

starting to work after 3 weeks, may have to run existing bacteria out of the skin so yes it may unfortunatley 'get worse before it gets better'. I switched from bxoil perox to duac, differen to tazorac, with finacea, and plexion dry wash. still doesn't cut it, the only thing that works for me is a pill for 6 months then become immune as i did on doxy and mino

Pros:

None for me

Cons:

Severe reaction. Had to be taken to the ER. Severe joint pain, hot flashes, cold chills, vomiting, other intestinal issues, fever, extreme pain in back, and blood in my urine. Occurred <3 hours after the 6th time I had taken it

Might work for some just be careful. ER doc didn't want to say it was the antibiotic. Talked to 2 other doctors and they told me I was lucky and that next time I may not be so fortunate. There are other alternatives to this treatment. I had no idea that I was allergic until after the fact. Been suggested to me that I need to have a medical alert braclet for this. And I am not one to rush to the hospital unless my arm is falling off. And I have no other medical ailments that could explain it.

Pros:

It has been making me break out rather than helping my moderate acne that i have on my cheeks. Called the derm and they said it would get worse before better so I'm hoping i'll see improvement soonn..

Cons:

Breakouttttt, loss of appetite (unless that's good haha), fatigue

Very affordable, very strong, but it may take awhile to work and you may get worse before you get better, i still have yet to be better but we'll hope
