Pros:

Keeps big break-outs at bay.
The pimples I do get are way smaller than before and go away much faster.
Absorbs into my skin great.

Cons:

I can't think of anything substantial.

This stuff works better on my skin than any other involved regimen or natural remedy I've tried. My personal regimen involves using Dan's gel once a day after using an exfoliating cleanser and following up with a salicylic acid based toner or astringent. I know that would be too harsh for some but my skin is not sensitive. I've learned that exfoliating and toning is key for me to refresh my skin cells and avoid clogged pores. The acne gel dries up excess oil and kills the bacteria nicely to top it off. I'm also thrilled that the gel absorbs so well. I'm a darkskinned black girl and traditional products like Neutrogena OTS left an ashy film on my skin. My skin looks and feels smooth and has a glow nowadays. My self-esteem has been boosted 100%. Thanks Dan!

Pros:

Good stuff

Cons:

None

I got this for like 13 bucks, used it for about 2 weeks and its not bad. It tends to dry out your skin a little but after like an hour my skin goes back to normal. So far it's working so fingers crossed. Recommended for people who have tried everything else.

The only thing to get rid of my acne permanently.
This review is somewhat strange, as I've used this regimen before, but it may help those of you who are on the regimen or are about to start the regimen. This is an '˜update of an update' if you will. Backstory: All through high school, I had cystic acne. It was mostly hormonal but I would still get breakouts throughout the month as well as clogged pores. My acne made me feel completely insecure because it would form under the skin and would take 2-3 weeks to go down - and then a scar would follow which would last for what seemed like forever. After using just about every topical treatment (never tried internal treatments), I started using the acne.org regimen. The regimen COMPLETELY cleared up my acne for about a year and a half. I didn't get one breakout during this time. I had a rough couple first months with dry skin, flakiness, and redness, but after about the 4 month mark, I had clear skin. Keep in mind that I only used the acne.org cleanser and the benzoyl peroxide. I trashed the jojoba oil and moisturizer and opted for Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream instead since it was more hydrating (I mixed this 50/50 with acne.org AHA at night). About a year and a half ago, I started esthetician school and would only use the regimen on and off since I was receiving so many facials/peels. I slowly started breaking out again, and about a year ago, my cystic acne came back. I was still using the regimen during this time. BUT I had incorporated a lot of different products: cleansing oils, toners, etc. I kicked them all out of my routine and started using just the cleanser, BP, AHA, and moisturizer again, but was still breaking out. After a YEAR AND A HALF OF BREAKING OUT, I realized that I was only using a pea sized amount of BP for my entire face when Dan Kern (acne.org owner) recommends TWO FULL PUMPS. I was NOT listening to directions like I had when I first started, and was using too little BP. Keep in mind, I had never used two full pumps of BP, even when I had originally used it. I had used a thick fingertips amount of BP and it had kept me clear. About a four months ago, I started using the thick fingertip's amount again. 5 days in, my skin was peeling, red, and dry; just like I had started the regimen all over again. On the acne.org website, Dan says the more BP the better - which I completely agree with. Do I think you need two FULL pumps? No. But find the medium that makes you & and your skin happy and build it up. I, again, see the complete reduction of acne on my skin. Although it's still a bit dry, I can tolerate it for clear skin. My skin is going through the exact same phases that it did when I was in high school and the active breakouts I had on my face have significantly decreased. I'm going to try to keep using the full fingertip's amount until my skin adjusts to it - then, I will continually build up my skin's sensitivity to BP. Note that I'm also using the same routine: Morning, I cleanse, use a generous amount of BP, and moisturize with Cetaphil. Night, I cleanse, use a generous amount of BP, and moisturize with 50/50 Cetaphil and AHA. If you are starting the regimen, this may help you determine why you're still breaking out or why BP stopped working for you. Dan says that after your skin is acne-free, taper down to however much works for you. HOWEVER, he also says that MOST people require a generous amount of BP to stay clear, so if you are truly acne-prone, keep using as much as you regularly use to keep you clear.

Best product I've ever used
22 y/o male, struggled with acne for 10 years, tried tons of other products and regimens (Tazorac, antibiotics, BPO 6-10% cleansers, Proactiv, Caveman/water-only methods, no shave, etc.). Nothing worked like this -- it is consistent, convenient, easy to use, and non-irritating. Consistency has been the best part -- I have not had to deal with the ups-and-downs of feeling relatively clear one day and then breaking out bad a few days later. Before starting this product, I struggled with random acne on my forehead, sometimes on the corners of my upper lips and around my cheekbones and jawline, and problem areas on the sides of my chin. I would say that my acne over the past year was moderate -- large, painful ones were not uncommon, though I never had any areas that were consistently covered with spots. Since the start of using this product 4 weeks ago, I have had 2 distinct breakouts that lasted a few days and seemed like old problem areas finally clearing up. Since then, nothing major at all. When I do get a zit, it has been just a single one, with minimal inflammation, that is easy to pop gently and then dries and clears quickly. I use Acne.org's 2.5% BPO once daily after cleansing with soap in the shower and allowing my face to air dry (no towel). Occasionally, if I have an early AM shower and an evening shower, I do use the treatment twice. I always use just a dab -- more than a pea-sized amount, but not much more. When the BPO has dried, I lightly moisturize. My cleanser is Dove's Sensitive Skin Bar soap; my moisturizer is Olay Complete SPF-15. I shave with Dorco twin-blade razors (very cheap online, non-irritating, close shave). I use Aveeno Therapeutic Shave gel, which smells nice and feels rich and natural. I do not use any products in my hair -- no shampoo, no gel or wax. I started using this product about 3 and a half weeks before my college graduation, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I woke up on graduation morning, looked in the mirror, and was greeted by clear skin that made me smile at myself like a doofus. One of the biggest challenges in my life that has felt so out of my control for so many years is finally just a minor thing for me. I couldn't be happier.

My review of bp
I think benzoyl peroxide is a great solution to get rid of existicing breakouts. However, I believe that in order to fix the main problem of acne, deeper things have to be considered like diet, environvement and lifestyle.

Pimple Killer!
In the past, I've used salicylic acid to treat my acne-prone skin. It was for no particular reason, it just seems like drug-store brands use salicylic acid more often than benzoyl peroxide. S.A. was doing nothing for me. After seeing all of the testimonials about the acne.org regimen, I bought this and the glycolic acid. I gave Benzoyl Peroxide 4 stars because it makes my hyper pigmentation stay around longer and it bleached a number of my shirts lol BUT using this with glycolic acid made my skin look THE BEST IT HAS EVER BEEN! BP kills the pimples while GA kills the hyper pigmentation. Together, they create perfect skin. I will never not have this in my life!

WONDERFUL
BP was recommended to me by a friend several years ago....now I recommend it to all of my friends. The only occasional problem I have with it is dryness, but then I just back off & use it just once a day. I notice if I miss several times of application, because then I get a Zit:( I also hate when I get some in my eye...ow! I too had problems with acne for years as a teenager, and I know that my parents still even get an occasional zit...my future didn't look too promising when it came to a clear face. But since I found BP, my family says my face feels so smooth, it's like a babies':) One last problem....I want to tell everybody about ACNE.ORG, but it's too awkward to walk up to someone & say, "I see you have bad acne; I can help you with that."! Someone needs to make some stickers, badges, or t-shirts so we can tell the awkward teenager that there is an answer to his/her troubles!

After 20 years I'm finally free
I waited for ~6 months before reviewing this product, and now I can safely say: WOW, IT ACTUALLY WORKS! Let me give you a little background: I've had acne for almost 20 years and had tried all the treatments known to man, such as salicylic acid, birth control pills, Zynerit, glycolic acid, antibiotics. I visited many dermatologists, one of them even prescribed Roacuttane, which I took for more than 6 months. None of the treatments worked unfortunately (Zynerit sort of did something there, but didn't clear me up properly; Roacuttane and pills only made things worse). I tried at some point Brevoxyl (also benzoyl peroxide) but it didn't work for me at the time: now I realize I didn't give it enough time. So eventually I decided to try the 'miracle' acne.org regimen, although it looked too good to be true. At first nothing happened, but after around 4 months my face cleared up completely. So if you are starting this regimen remember to give it time, even if it takes a few months.

2-3 Months to clarity
This gel really does work the only things you need are patience & time. I've used benzoyl peroxide a good portion of my life (15-22 years old). Last year I decided to give my skin a break from it since it was soooo clear. I had baby skin and would get compliments every single day for how soft my skin looked & was. About 3 to 4 months after I stopped using benzoyl peroxide my skin FLIPPED out. I had a ton of tiny whiteheads everywhere and then started with gigantic cysts all over. I tried using natural products, sulphur masks, different face washes even retin-A but my face was crazy. I knew deep down that the benzoyl really works so I purchased a tube this October and patiently waited for results. What I noticed: - My skin took about one month to get back into the benzoyl peroxide (as it was no longer used to it) - I was extremely flaky and my face burned for the first month - Starting with less product during the first month helps Also wanted to share what products I am using along side the benzoyl peroxide treatment which I use twice a day (morning & night): Makeup remover (BEST EVER): Bioderma Sensitive Skin SENSIBIO H2O Cleanser (morning): Spectro Gel (Purple one without fragrance) Cleanser (night): Dior Snow Cleanser White Reveal Gentle Foaming Cream (day & night): Bioderma Atoderm PP Baume (SUPER MOISTURIZING + hypoallergenic) Serum for scarring (day & night + this is AMAZING): Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Makeup (best for acne prone skin): BareMinerals Original (not the matte one) I have also been using the Clarisonic day and night as I find it helps with the dryness. I am almost 3 full months in and my skin is great! I still get a few here and there but it is not nearly as bad as it was when the initial freakout happened. Some of these products are expensive BUT the quality of the products are like no other. These products combined with the benzoyl peroxide will bring you clear skin, it really just takes time. Changing your diet and intaking lots of fruits and veggies will also speed up the process. Water Water Water. Good luck :)

The magic
Guys,my acne story began 1,5 year ago.I had been struggling since then,I have literally tried everything and I have spent a fortune on different cremes and beauty salons. And sometimes it seemed that it would never end.I actually was ashamed of myself, the acne gave me so many insecurities which I hadn't has before. But when I found the regimen,it immediately got better,I started finally living my life to the fullest.I don't have any insecurities any more,my skin is perfectly, yes I mean perfectly clear.I have overcome some difficulties in the firt months of using the regimen.I had allergy(therefore don't use too much in the beginning).I was itching all along and it was devastating, but it was completely worth it.After two months,my skin got completely used to the regimen,so right now I don't even use the moisturizer,it doesn't become dry anymore :) Good luck using it!And there is always a solution to every problem! Enormous thanks to the creators of the regimen, pure magic:)
