Pros:

It. Works. My skin went from about 10-15 pimples at all times to 0 (maybe 1 if I skip a day or around my period). I can go outside without makeup and not feel like a horrible ogre. Not harsh on my skin because of the low BP%.

Cons:

Bleaches certain fabrics/dyes somewhat. All products with BP do this, and the lower % BP in this product makes it less of a problem than over the counter BP (typically 10%) or Proactiv, which bleaches EVERYTHING.

I'm 28 and I've had moderate acne and sensitive skin since I was about 13. When I was in high school and college I tried so many products. Everything over the counter containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, and my desperation finally convinced my mom to order Proactiv for me. All of these products were way too harsh, especially the scrubbing proactiv cleanser which would make my skin red and peel, and resulted in more pimples from irritation of the skin. We even went to a dermatologist and tried prescription topical treatments, and finally, antibiotic pills. Nothing worked, and mom drew the line at Accutane. A few years after college I had resigned myself to my fate when I came across acne.org. By that point I'd realized that my skin was also sensitive. The quiz helped me realize ways I was irritating my skin, and how to treat acne like a wound: touch it as little as possible, avoid irritation, don't mash it (yeah we all know that one), treat it gently. But I always said I wouldn't touch it if it wasn't there. And now... thanks to a less harsh treatment that doesn't irritate my skin but still kills those pesky bacteria... it isn't there.

Pros:

cleared up and prevents my acne by i would say about 95%
considerably evens skintone and smooths skin

Cons:

takes a little while to get clear
i still get acne occasionally

i had been on proactiv for about a year and a half when i started using this. i thought it was great and it definitely did improve my skin but i was still consistently getting acne and i wanted to try something stronger. because my skin was already used to benzoyl peroxide i was able to comfortably start with about a third of my finger's length of treatment. my skin did break out and flake A LOT for the first 2 or so weeks but i kept using it anyway. after the next couple weeks my acne was clearing up and my skin itself was noticeably improving and i have barely any flaking now and only very subtle dry patches near my jawline for some reason but its getting a lot better. ive only been using the benzoyl peroxide part of the regimine because i already had a cleanser that i really liked and i use Egyptian Magic as moisturizer (which is something else i can rave about, it significantly helps with flaking, evening skintone, moisturizing, and healing scars and hyper-pigmentation). im so happy with this stuff, i barely ever get acne anymore and i feel like im really close to being able to not use concealer which has been my security blanket for years. the only thing is i still break out a bit before my period. im hoping the AHA will help but the 6 oz bottle is out of stock! :( in summary, im just so glad i found out about this website and i wish i bought this stuff years ago. if youre not sure about it, just try it because it you never know if itll work for you and its pretty inexpensive and lasts forever. my advice is to just stick it out in the beginning because i have to admit my skin did look pretty gross for a little while. it does get worse before it gets better. but really, it STILL seems like my skin is getting better and better everyday and ive been using it for over 2 months. i cant believe it! thank you so much!

Pros:

Completely clear skin

Cons:

Skin was very dry at first, but after around three weeks, it was not as dry. I use jojoba oil with my daily moisturizer and never have a problem anymore!

This is the best product I have ever used. I have had acne since sixth grade and used things such as differin, epiduo, duac, oral antibiotics, accutane,... the list goes on. After going on accutane, my skin was a lot better but slowly my acne came back. It was not as bad but it was still annoying. Finally I stumbled across this website and decided to order the products. The first few weeks are definitely hard but i'm glad other reviews convinced me to stick with it. After six months on the regime, I get a small pimple or two a month and they go away super quickly. This product has changed my life and I can't thank him enough for creating this regime.

Pros:

I have been using this product for about fourteen months now, and cannot live without it. I am 28 years old, and have had severe acne since I was 12 years old. I have tried everything and this has been the one thing that has worked. I follow Dan's skin care plan using Purpose cleanser, the Treatment, and Cetaphil Mosturizer. I never thought it could be as simple as this, but it is (and cheap- well, much cheaper than all of the things I have tried).

Buy this product, and follow Dan's skin care plan. I now feel comfortable for the first time in my life to go without cosmetics.

Pros:

Completely heals existing acne
Prevents new acne from forming

Cons:

Drying
Leaves skin looking a little dull

This treatment, in combination with acne.org's other products and DK's Regimen, completely eradicated the acne I struggled with for almost 18 years. Nothing else worked. I have now been acne-free for months. The flakiness subsided on its own after about 6 or 8 weeks, but I started using the AHA+ and my skin is glowing. My skin actually looks better without make-up on! I never thought I would say that!!

Pros:

- got rid of my terrible acne
- inexpensive (when ordering from website)
- lasts a long time
- able to wear under make up

Cons:

- left some red marks/scars
- very drying

This is an amazing product. Last year, my skin was TERRIBLE. I went from having clear skin to having a forehead covered in pimples. All of my acne was concentrated on my forehead, and believe me, it was a lot. The acne.org treatment literally saved my skin. I have been using it since the end of February and my skin is 99% better. I had to use it for about three weeks to a month before my skin really got clear. I noticed at first that I had stop getting new pimples, but it took a little while for my old pimples to disappear. Over the summer my skin was 100% clear. I did not get a single zit for about 3 or 4 months. Going back to school this year, I still get a pimple here and there because of stress and other feminine problems, but otherwise I am clear. The only cons about this product was that my skin was extremely dry and even after all my acne was gone, I was left with a lot of red marks and some little scars. But these problems could be fixed by using the acne.org AHA+ lotion, which not only helped my red marks fade, but also turned my skin from being dry and peely to normal and moisturized.Nowadays, I only use benzoyl peroxide as spot treatment, but I use the AHA+ lotion every single night and it helps a lot with the overall texture of my skin and keeping acne from forming again. I use/used this product with a Clean and Clear face wash (the yellow one for sensitive skin) and the Olay moisturizer that is recommended by this website.

Pros:

goes on smooth, no scent, no streaking, gentle, vegan-ish, SUPER affordable

I use purpose gentle cleanser (liquid), this bp treatment, and a super expensive moisturizer full of antioxidants and miracle milk from the teat of your favorite deity that has promised me to keep me young forever. hey, here's to hoping, right? If it works as well as dan's benzoyl peroxide treatment, then I'll be living the dream!! This is the absolute gold standard for any bp treatment out there right now. I've never used a bp treatment that left my skin feeling soothed, like... what? excuse me? I used the regimen all through highschool and college, and tried to be all grown up and switch to retinol and after a lengthy, tear-inducing battle, I came crawling back. But this time, I used dan's product instead of neutrogena and omG: YES. affordable, soothing, fabulous. dried my face out like crazy for the first two weeks since I had to re-adjust. But, I toned down the amount a little, upped my moisturizer game, and looked through old photo booth pictures of my frowning, spotted face for inspiration every time I got frustrated. I'm a few months in now, and I don't use nearly as much as dan instructs, since I find I don't need to, so this bottle should last me well into the next millenium. A few months ago, I had inflamed, under-the-skin acne on my chin + inflammatory blockages on my cheeks + a constant sense of crippling insecurity to clear, smooth, balanced skin and an ability to get it on without turning out the lights. now if only dan would make a cream that would force me to work out.........................

Pros:

- Easy to use

Cons:

- Dries out skin

I've been experimenting with various acne products for the past 6 years... and I can't say that this product has cleared my acne yet. I've been on it for 2months now. I am 27, Asian with sensitive skin and mild/moderate acne. I also scar easily and for a long period. I never broke outwhen I lived in Asia. Since I moved to New York in 2003, I have developed all sorts of allergies and acne. Here is how it's worked out for me: - I am getting a lot of smaller, clogged and bumpy zits on top of my nose, above my lips (where I've never broken out before), chin and forehead. Almost look like sweat beads. - While the zits are not red, they are raised. So under bright lights, my face looks scary. - I am still getting the occassional one or two larger pimples in/around my T-zone. The BP product does not seem to penetrate deep enough to kill the acne bacteria. Instead, the BP seems to harden the bumps so you can't pop them or make them go away. Then, they turn purplish/blackish and have not gone away. I just got an extraction facial from a spa because I was so frustrated. The aesthetician kept saying to me that I have to exfoliate - that's how bad it looked. Even with the professional steam machine and exfoliation, she could not extract all the raised zits because they were so hard and deep. This was my last hope and now I may consider trying the expensive laser treatments.

Pros:

Perfect for Regimen

Clearing up blackheads that have never been cleared up before

Clearing my acne that has almost been impossible to get rid of

Very easy to apply, does not irritate skin 'during application'

Is not visible on skin, before and after application of moisturiser

Cons:

Causes slight tingling on skin, although this is to be expected during usage

I would recommend 100% buying dans products, including the cleanser, BP 2.5%, and moisturiser as they are working perfectly for my skin, and my skin is clearing up, this stuff is working very well, although it causes slight itching on the skin, this is to be expected and is part of the treatment process I payed 80$, which is about £60, because I had to pay large shipping costs, and custom fees, the product itself is very cheap other wise.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Caused severe irritation and an awful rash that looked like acne scars or the chicken pox.

The only thing I can thank the Acne.org Regiment for is showing my (awful) allergy to benzoyl peroxide. I have mildly oily skin which never really gets irritated or dry. I switched to the Acne.org method using Cetaphil cleaner and lotion (which I had used before) and Nutrogena On-The-Spot as the BP. Within the first few days my skin got irritated and I started getting more/larger acne, which from reading reviews seemed normal. Then by the end of the first week I started "scarring." Big red circles that looked like acne scars wherever a zit had been. It looked like I had a disease. I lived with this condition, hoping it would become better, for two awful weeks. I started wearing more makeup (all non comedogenic) to hide it, but it showed through. I was miserable. I finally decided enough was enough and switched to Mary Kay's system for oily skin: a mild cleanser, a Salicylic acid toner, and an oil control lotion. Within one use, not exaggerating, the scarring started to fade. it only took three days to go away completely. Its obvious that the Regiment has worked for a lot of people, but I didn't read a single review of someone with this reaction. I had no idea I was allergic until this so I just wanted there to be a review out there!
