Pros:

It's cheap, it smells yummy and works to a certain extent.

Cons:

It dries your face out, it stings and makes your eyes water.

When you first put it on, it really stings and makes your eyes water. Immeadiatly, this is a bad sign, as it means it is too harsh and is irritating your skin. If you put it on and it stings, wash off after about 5 minutes. However, i decided to leave it on for about an hour, the stinging went away after a while and my face began to feel dry and tight. It was quite uncomfortable. When I washed it off, the area surrounding my spots was bright red, which made them look a lot worse. After about an hour though, the redness faded and my skin started to peel. When I woke up the next morning, i notice that the size of my spots had reduced, but only a tiny bit. My advice is, don't apply toothpaste to your face, it is too harsh and has a drying effect on the skin. The harshness irritates the skin and makes it red, which could cause more breakouts, and the drying effect could make skin produce more oil to compensate, so in turn you get more spots.

Pros:

toothpaste really works!! its not difficult at all. i got it from my friend on myspace and she said it was gone within 24 hours! but you cannot at all put it on overnight or you will scar really badly. i put it on each blemish i want to remove

Cons:

and then 15-20 minutes later take it off, it doesnt sting a lot to me, but lets say i can handle pain, lol i thought she was absolutely crazy for reccomending this, but it really works. all the people giving negative criticism put it on over night so

that really shows you to not put it on overnight people!! im using this because homecoming is this week and i dont want to look red and gross and pimpley i use aquafresh toothpaste and it works prettty well. so please people TRY IT!!! WHAT HARM COULD IT DO!?![UNLESS YOU PUT IT ON OVER NIGHT!!] olivia.

Not for me
I don't know if I'm using the wrong toothpaste but I've tried oralB and an organic toothpaste that uses tea tree and aloe Vera and neither have worked and only shrunk the spot a little or made it bigger and ready for popping which I try and avoid

Didn't work for me.

Cons:

Didn't work for my skin.

I tried it, left it on overnight and there was no difference, my skin is quite oily so maybe that's why? It works for some people, but doesn't for others. All depends on your skin type.

never again......

Pros:

dries pimple

Cons:

burns, redness, peeling, dryness
bleaches skin
more breakouts

I tried this for my cystic acne awhile back and it caused more cysts wthout realizing it. So I read the ingedients in the toothpaste and saw that it had both of the SLS. Toothpaste slsohas a bleaching agent in it to whiten teeth even if it doesn't say "with whitening product" in it. Therefore it will bleach your skin

Pros:

reduces redness, swelling, oils (for an entire 24-hour period), and with consistent use reduces the presence of acne period

Cons:

may dry out the skin if not oily enough, a moisturizer is not used, or method is used more than once a day; type of toothpaste is highly dependent on one's own skin!

I use Colgate Advanced Whitening. I have tried other toothpastes and many have been far too harsh for my skin - intense burning sensations in some cases. However, I did not give up, and though this toothpaste has a strong tingle and can feel 'cold', I have had no burning, markings, etc. Within the reasonable time I have it on my face, that is. I don't dot and leave for long periods of time. I use the toothpaste like a face soap. I keep a tube in the shower, wash my face with a facewash to get all the dirt/crap off, and then I turn up the water. I let my face soak in the hot water/steam for a couple minutes (while washing my hair or whatever) to get my pores open, then I take about a dime size amount of it and spread it over my fingers to smooth a light layer over my face. I leave it for about 30-45 seconds - no more than a minute! - then rinse it off. Ta da! I've had AWESOME results, but if your acne is a result of hormones, it probably won't work as well. Good luck!
