It works.. with some side effects
First, let me start off by saying that THIS TAKES time. Some people may see immediate results, but most do not. I tried the regimen 3-4 years ago for a month and when it didn't work, I just gave up. In between that, I went on spironolactone, birth control, antibiotics, etc. Even though these treatments are all safe, I just did not like depending on pharmaceuticals to make my acne go away. Spironolactone worked the best for me but since the research on long term use is dodgy at best, I decided to give the regimen a try again. I did not see any changes the first month, in fact, my acne probably got way worse. I started the regimen in Early October. Guess when I started seeing results? MID FEBRUARY. You have to be diligent and use it regularly. The drying is terrible and moisturizer will be your best friend. It's expensive (my spiro was like $7 per month). Even after four months, if I don't slather on the moisturizer, my skin gets angry and flaky. I am worried about wrinkles, but it's really helped keep my acne at bay. I still have little pimples before my period. However, they never fully form and go away in a couple of days. I also switched to using this in the morning only on my trouble spots (chin, around mouth, forehead) and then I do the whole sha-bang at night. Try it, it works! But again, MOISTURIZE or you'll hate yourself. EDIT: The AHA did not do much for me. I used it for a while, did not really notice any changes and stopped use. Stick to the benzoyl peroxide from this line. I use Trader Joe's cleanser and cetaphil with a little bit of coconut oil added in for moisturizer.

Seeing results within 4 days
I had very light acne as a teenager. I started to use proactive which dried my skin out terribly, made my face red & made my acne worse! I now have moderate acne because of it. But Im on the regimen for 4 days now & im seeing crazy results. I never thought this would work so fast. Now I have less acne. The redness on my face is also gone, the dark spots are fading slowly. This is the only product that helped me. I tried steroids, Birth control, more meds, even went to a dermatologist to take out all my pimples(it made it worse btw) I spent so much money trying to find the product that actually works. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT WORKS. I definitely recommend this product. Thank you so so so much for this product!

AMAZING & LIFE CHANGING
So, baaically all of my late teens/early 20s I was struggling with occasional pimples.. At one point it got so bad where I really needed to do something about it. I tried every single thing in the drugstores, then I finally turned to Proactiv. Proactiv did work for me but then suddenly just stopped. I finally came across Acne.org regimen. And let me just say.. This has been the best decision of my life. My skin is BEAUTIFULLY CLEAR. And people are really noticing. Not only did it clear up my skin completely and help breakouts.. But I literally don't get pimples anymore. People have been saying 'wow! Your skin is glowing' and how great my complexion is. It's a great feeling.. All because of this regimen. I suggest YOU TRY IT. There is nothing better!

Will my skin worsen if I stop using it?
March 22, 2015
This. Works. 2 weeks in.
Since about 5 years ago I have had oily and acne prone skin. The last 1-2 years it has taken a turn for the worse and at times my chin was totally covered in white horrible cysts and what not. This have certainly affected me negatively. I get VERY self-conscious when I'm talking to someone and I know I have acne all over my face. The most days I'd like to stay home so that I won't get in contact with any other human. I've tried cleaning and moisturizing morning and evening to no avail, perhaps this was due to not being gentle enough, whatever it didn't work at all. The last couple of months I've been trying the caveman regimen, e.g do not wash or in any manner treat your face. I believe that for people that aren't acne prone, this may just work due to the irritation caused by overusing products. For my part, this just made my face look really awful. The acne didn't disappear and my face took on a grainy and bumpy texture. I kept waiting for the caveman regimen to start working, It never did. The hyperpigmentation from old acne lingered and made my face look all red even if I at the time didn't have any active acne. Stumbled upon this site and thought "What the hell, It doesn't matter if things get worse now". And the first couple of days it might have. My skin got very flaky, red and itched like hell. Had a couple of acne popping up in my chin area, as per usual. I'm now 2 weeks into the routine and the benzoyl peroxide isn't the pain in the ass it used to be. Okay now to the pros. All active acne has subsided and my hyperpigmentation is fading slowly. The one thing that stands out the most perhaps is the texture of my face. It is completely smooth. I can't remember a time when my face was this smooth to the touch. This regimen is just amazing in so many ways. Haven't been using Dan's products but similiar products that can be found in the country I live. I would recommend this to everyone who has acne problem. Thanks Dan, your great!

Meh
I've used the regimen for over two years now, and while my skin has definitely improved, I still break out quite frequently. Following the exact steps of the regimen takes an annoying amount of time, and if I don't follow the procedure exactly I break out even more. The regimen doesn't work badly, but since it's so time consuming it's not really worth the results I've been seeing.

A BIG thank you
I have tried medication (both western and chinese) and different methods to cure my acne. some of them worked for a while and then stopped working, and some made my problem even worse. The side-effects for western medicine was extremely significant as it caused severe diarrhoea. Regimen was a bit of a pain to start with, but I am very glad that I started it. It was the best decision I could have ever made.

Only thing that cleared my skin

Pros:

Cleared my skin
affordable

I started the regimen almost two years ago when I was in eighth grade. At that point I had struggled with acne for about four years. My acne was my biggest insecurity and caused me to be very depressed. After reading all the reviews online I decided to give it a shot. At first, all it did was make my skin dry and flakey. Using jojoba oil really helped with that although it does make your face shiny. I still got acne. However after about three or four monthes my acne was basically gone and has been ever since. I still break out during that time of month but comapared to the severe acne I don't mind. This changed my skin and made me so much more confident. I also really like that this is unscented. I briefly tried proactive and the scent was awful.

Switched from Proactiv and never going back

Pros:

Ease of use
Gentle
Products last a long time

Cons:

Time (on a tight schedule)

I'm currently 20, average athletic female college student. I'm from a moderately humid and very hot place, and I go to school in one of the most variable climates in the US - the plains. It's either bitter cold or blistering heat, but you can always count on almost no humidity and lots of wind. I started using Proactiv a couple years ago when my skin really changed and I started having some pretty noticeable acne issues. I've always had pretty normal combination skin - slightly sensitive but pretty balanced. But it started getting more and more oily over time, and acne became prevalent, as did my embarrassment. At first, Proactiv was a dream. I couldn't imagine ever using anything else. But over time, my skin became accustomed to how harsh the treatment is, and it started getting even MORE oily. I couldn't even make it until lunch time without feeling like I needed to wash my face again. And just months before, I was having to use extra lotion because the most sensitive parts of my face were dry, flaky, even cracking some. But my acne was still gone... Until a few months later. Eventually, the oiliness got bad enough that my acne was coming back. I knew it was time for something else. I'd heard about acne.org, and I'd done a lot of research about using the oil cleansing method - I figured anything was worth a shot. Especially because, at this point, it was obviously the texture and intensity of Proactiv that was doing this to my skin. I still was very hesitant to try oil cleansing though, so I went with this. It was obvious after extensive research that Dan knows what he's talking about - he understands we need to be gentle with our skin. Within two weeks, my skin was worlds better. I do find though, as I'm sure others have, that if I forget/fall asleep/get lazy and don't wash my face at night every now and then, it's definitely a problem. My acne is always there waiting to come back with a vengeance, but it always gets back under control. I use the cleanser while I'm in the shower in the morning - two pumps. I try to follow the directions Dan has provided where time is concerned. Make sure your skin is actually dry before the treatment, and that it's completely soaked in before you moisturize. It REALLY does make a difference. I don't really use a large amount of either the treatment or moisturizer - I find I don't need it. Just enough that I'm not having to really rub my face, but not so much as to have excess. For me, a pea size to dime size amount does the trick. I use the jojoba oil on an as-needed basis, and I mix half AHA and half moisturizer at night instead of using 100% moisturizer. I'm so so glad I switched. I'm saving money, and I know this is worlds better for my skin. Not to mention, the environmentally conscious manner in which these products are produced is a definite bonus. Keep it up Dan, thank you! Also - quick note on cost. Not only is this regimen cheaper than most, I find that the products last much longer than anticipated. I bought my first kit about 4 months ago, and the only thing I've had to buy more of is the cleanser.

Pros:

Clear skin!

Cons:

Drying at first

This stuff is absolutely amazing as well as affordable. It gives you rapid results if you follow the instructions correctly. Cystic acne runs through my family-I would have painful red cystic pimples on my jawline as well as tiny painful pimples on my upper lip which looked horrible. The first week of using the regimen I could instantly see and feel a difference. Needless to say this product will always and only be a part of my day/night routine.

Pros:

Cleared my acne 100%
Inexpensive

Cons:

Dry skin leaves me very dependant on moisturizer

I've been on the Regimen for over 2 years now, and I still absolutely love it. It's the only thing that worked to clear my acne 100% (I had moderate acne, with a few cysts before beginning the regimen). I saw results after a few weeks and was completely clear by 4 months. I follow it every day, and once I was completely clear I was able to scale back on the amount of BP I use so that my skin is less dry/red. I love these products. Highly recommended.
