Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

Doesn't peel/burn skin, works fast.

Cons:

The smell is strong at first but you get used to it after a while.

I have a lot of red marks so I decided to try this. I've been using it for the past 3 nights and the redness is going down, it's amazing. I wet a cotton ball with water, squeeze excess water out. Put a couple of drops of TTO on it then put another drop of water(I'm scared of my skin peeling!) It is not too much water. It works just great. Then I put it all over my face three times before I go to bed and voila! Skin is beautiful in the morning.

Pros:

i heard good thing about it

Cons:

i heard it has a bad smell

well.. i hvae acne scars..the only thing is that i hvae them on my back..my friend told me to use this oil..while my doctor told me not to and use an anibiotic instead..which still i hvaent seen a difference and its been a week.. do you think this oil could work for the acne scars?

AWFUL SMELL!

THis is amazing! It has THE WORST SMELL EVER! I cant get rid of it for like an hour! EEEEEWWW!

Pros:

Stops pimples that are coming up on your skin. Prevents new pimples from forming, anf thoroughly kills bacteria on your face once you continuosly use it.

Cons:

Smell is a lil strong but goes away after a minute or two.

I used to use BP on my face, it had good results, but bleached my clothes out and sheets in bed. I quit using BP and always had a few pimples because I wasnt using anything to killthe bacteria. TTO is the perfect substitute, its all natural, and it WONT bleach your clothes. I can literally see current pimples I had before I bought the TTO oil going away. I mixed 1/4 cup of wiitch hazel with 10 drops of TTO, best toner ever, not to strong all natural and keeps skinn lookign good and the TTO is the part of my regimen that is specifically there to get rid of and prevent pimples. Everything I use is easy on my skin, so I needed something in it to stop acne. I have oily skin, and the TTO is the answer for me. Give it a try, I dont know about using full strength on your face like some mebers said, but mixing it with Witch Hazel for me, is perfect!!! Oh and I know its not just the witch hazel helpng it. I have been on my exact saem regimen for 2 months, and just added the TTO.

Pros:

Cheap, I personally like the smell, works.

Cons:

Burns sometimes

Works for blemishes. Doesn't cause drying of the skin like most acne spot treatments. However, don't use this on a recently popped pimple/broken irritated skin. Burns so much and leaves a nasty scar.

Pros:

It makes my face feel really nice but im worried im gonna wake up tomorrow and face is gonna be horrible

Cons:

It smells really bad

I just started using it today already did it twice but im going to start only once because i have sensitive skin but ill keep everyone updated

Pros:

Works pretty well for an essential oil. Doesn't leave a greasy residue. Reduced the size of my acne. Tingles!

Cons:

The smell is a little strong but it will go away after a few minutes.

I've only been using this for about 4 days, but so far it's worked pretty well. I have acne as a result of going on birth control and it takes about a month to get rid of the acne that was caused by my BC, but now my face isn't so red and awful looking. I know once the BC is totally out of my system my skin will go back to normal, but I will still use this stuff for those occassional pesky zits.

Pros:

it helps alot.

Cons:

Wash your hands after because they will look white from the dried oil.

I have had bacne since I was a teen, I'm 43 now. In the winter, it is really bad and stubborn with some cysts lasting for weeks. Recently it dawned on me that tea tree oil is a natural anti bacterial and acne has bacteria in it. I put the oil on 2x a day with my fingertips. I have seen a marked improvement. My painful bumps have been shrinking faster and I haven't been bleeding nearly as much. In fact, I really haven't had much new bacne since I started. Since a small bottle (which lasts a while) costs only 5.99 at a national store which rhymes with Raider Moe's.... this is a no brainer. I am also going to get a UV lamp which should definitely help.

Pros:

My boyfriend tried this on me a few months ago so I finally took the effort to buy my own bottle. Works like a charm, shortens the time the acne stays on my face. Tea Tree Cleansers reduces the occurrences of acne after 8 years of it on my face!

Cons:

The smell really depends on the user's preference, I personally do not mind it. Though, individuals with dry skin will find that it tends to dry out your skin, so moisturize with a fragrance-free moisturizer after!

If you haven't had much luck with a lot of solutions, this may be it. TTO is natural, and is not full of harmful chemicals like other treatments. Affordable and refreshing, I'd highly recommend this product to anyone sick of having stubborn acne!

Pros:

Really got rid of the molluscum i was experiencing on my lower abdomen tried it on my face and what else can i say but amazing

Cons:

can really dry out ur skin if not careful

the product is great for acne just dilute or use as spot treatment
