Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

reduces redness, swelling, and size of the pimples after only a few applications!

Cons:

obnoxious smell and dries up your skin pretty badly.

if you want results quickly, try the tea tree oil. i've been having major issues with my acne for five years and after two applications of the 100% tea tree oil, i have already noticed a great difference. of course it is not MAGIC and make everything go away, but i've really noticed a difference and my pores are smaller and tighter and it has significantly reduced the number of blackheads.

Pros:

Works pretty well for an essential oil. Doesn't leave a greasy residue. Reduced the size of my acne. Tingles!

Cons:

The smell is a little strong but it will go away after a few minutes.

I've only been using this for about 4 days, but so far it's worked pretty well. I have acne as a result of going on birth control and it takes about a month to get rid of the acne that was caused by my BC, but now my face isn't so red and awful looking. I know once the BC is totally out of my system my skin will go back to normal, but I will still use this stuff for those occassional pesky zits.

Pros:

My boyfriend tried this on me a few months ago so I finally took the effort to buy my own bottle. Works like a charm, shortens the time the acne stays on my face. Tea Tree Cleansers reduces the occurrences of acne after 8 years of it on my face!

Cons:

The smell really depends on the user's preference, I personally do not mind it. Though, individuals with dry skin will find that it tends to dry out your skin, so moisturize with a fragrance-free moisturizer after!

If you haven't had much luck with a lot of solutions, this may be it. TTO is natural, and is not full of harmful chemicals like other treatments. Affordable and refreshing, I'd highly recommend this product to anyone sick of having stubborn acne!

Pros:

Found my solution

Cons:

TTO is harmful to dogs! When i put on my face my dog smells the strong odor & it makes him sneeze...Keep away from dogs!

I also tried everything out there & nothing has worked. Im 29 yrs old, had terrible acne since 13, after reading remedies from this site, i went out and bought the entire TTO line. SPot treatments workign great. Scared to apply to entire face though... along with some vitamins...i will start drinking ACV again as well as i feel my acne is due to toxins in body from poor diet, to much ciggs & beer

Pros:

kills bacteria effectively, reduce some redness after just one application!

Cons:

the smell is just a bit offensive

got it from the Body Shop, 15% concentration, works awesome. I have dry/sensitive skin, but it's fine if moisturizer is applied around the problem area (not on top of TTO). I notice positive result (not very significant) after just one use. I'll keep posting...

Pros:

None

Cons:

I am severely allergic to tea tree oil and it made me develop deep cystic type acne.

Be cautious if you are using products with tea tree oil in them and you notice your acne getting worse. It happened very slowly with me and therefore I did not realize at first that it was the cause. I am also allergic to eucyleptus...they are in the same family.

Pros:

cleared the pimple

Cons:

dryness, iritation, redness

Tea Tree oil really improved my skin for about a week and after that week i had one of the worst break out i've ever had. It shrunk the pimple size but not the redness. i could only put it on the big red pimples. if i put it on anywhere else on my skin a pimpe would form there. if you are goign to use tea tree oil use it in moderation especailly if you have sensitive skin. it is rough on skin and overuse makes it worse
