Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

I started useing it this morning and just applied some before bed, so far it seems to be helping already and its only been like 12 hours. I like the fact that the pain I usually get from my acne is gone right when you apply.

Cons:

I have very fair and sensitive skin, I'm Irish so I have to be very careful what I use, so far the only con is the strong scent which kinda grows on you, it's very herbie.

I have adult acne, started around when I turned 18 or 19 so I've only been dealing with it for about 5 years and it's very light acne but I get the pustual acne you know the really gross kind that turn into white pus balls on your face gross right? Well I've tryed Pro active, Nutrogena, clean and clear, noxema, clearasil, cetaphil, toothpaste which dries out acne but is only a temporary solution, the only thing that has ever worked for me almost completely is Nature's Cure the pill and cream kit. I am using it along with the tea tree oil. I've been using natures cure for two month's now but 2 years ago I was on it for about a year then like an idiot stop using it because my acne cleared up lol.

Pros:

Dries out pimples, clears up black heads, and helps prevent new break outs

Cons:

The smell is bad but after a while you kind of get used to it

My mom had an old remedy book and tea tree oil was in it to help clear acne. Bottom line for a yr I have been looking for a product that works and this is the only thing that does. I have been using it for a month everyday at first and now just every other day. Grant it, it does dry out your skin a little but I use this at night after washing my face with a non scent and antibacterial soap then in the mornings I wash my face again and apply moisturizer that doesn't cause oily skin.. But this is a great product

Pros:

natural

Cons:

doesn't really work

I'm all for natural products. This one however left my pimples more red and gave me hyperpigmentation marks. I have oily but sensitive skin and this was simply too strong for me...bp doesn't react good with my skin either obviously every reaction will be different. I would recommend trying this though because it could work for you. ALSO the side effects are not that long-term or serious because it's a natural product :)

Pros:

personal exp:
Clears up skin, softens, brightens & beautifies! Wonderful, pleasant bold smell. makes pores disappear!

Cons:

none! :)

why wouldn't you try it! its simply the sh*t. it works for me so its most likly to work for you. i wouldn't recommend it for people with dry skin. i use it sparingly around and on my problem areas.. but my problem areas are disappearing :) i also use Aveeno Ultra calming moisturizer. its great. if you use this combo wait 10 minutes to apply moisturizer or ull burn your face :S but youll be fine. i use Aveeno tone and brighten face scrub. it works great tea tree oil is great

Pros:

None really.

Cons:

Dried out my skin, cysts and scars remained where they were even after applying for over a week, not the miracle topical i was hoping for

not sure if i'm being too impatient, but after applying tea tree oil for 3 weeks, nothing seems to be happening to my acne.

Pros:

The product seems to be working by drying up the pimples. The skin feels really clean after putting on the products.

Cons:

It has an undesirable smell. It is expensive too. It may take time for the product to work and clear up the blemishes.

I have been using The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil line (facial wash, toner, day time moisturizer, and night gel). Although it is expensive, it is worth a try. However, I may not be sure if it is the effects of the products since I am also taking flax seed supplements, vitamin c with rose hips supplements and multivitamins. I am also shifting to a fruit/vegetable/white meat diet.

Pros:

This really works well for dandruff, cuts, bites, etc. Dilute w/ a carrier oil like jojoba before applying on the skin. I love to put this in my mouth wash as well.

Cons:

This did not seem to work for my acne but it still has many other uses and thus I will still be repurchasing this again and again.

Pros:

I have used tea tree oil wipes(body shop) on pus filled spots, the wipes lift the pus right off as long as the spot is ripe. Skin feels alot cleaner aswel.

Cons:

The problem is using this alone can not get rid of my acne, I take cod liver oil tablets, and i have seen a HUGE difference in my gram negative folliculitis over the last week.

Its good for topical application, lessens pain, makes you feel abit more fresh. ALSO BEWARE - i have bought some cheap creams from ebay which use tea tree oil and it only made the acne worse!!!!!! i switched to a brand name cream and the acne was controlled abit better.
