Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Hmm
I havent used this product enough to come to a concrete decision on whether it has been good for my skin but so far it definitely does dry up spots, flatten bumps overnight, gets rid of oil and leaves my skin feeling fresh. I understand some people have very sensitive and acne-prone skin therefore i think this oil is NOT for them. It is VERY strong and drying and can actually make your acne worse. if you have dry and flaky skin the oil will not be able to penetrate deep into your pores and work its magic. To make it less strong you can dilute it with tap water or something else of your choice so that it doesn't burn or damage your skin too much. it is definitely catered more for oily skin types.

Pros:

It dries up the pimples.
Eliminates cysts in just a week or so.
Less inflammed breakouts

Cons:

Causes breakouts (read below to understand)
Turns my scars brighter and healing pimples redder.
Makes my pimples come to a head

I love this product. This is my BP but better because it doesn't cause as much dryness. I use it as a spot treatment for really big, nasty pimples and cysts. Be warned, I've learnt the hard way that you can only use this as a spot treatment (but mine is100%pure, so I'm not certain about diluted solutions) because at first, it cleared me up quite a bit, but then, I noticed that it started to make me breakout around my mouth. I NEVER BREAK OUT ON MY UPPER LIP. It also caused cysts on my chin and whiteheads on my upperforehead. I have combo skin which is oily on my forehead and especially my nose, but dry on my cheeks and normal-ish on my mouth area. I think the oily parts of my face could handle it but it was too drying for the normal parts of my skin so it caused a lot of irritation and broke me out there. It is also an oil, so putting it on the very oily parts of my skin gave me whiteheads. It's sort of a doubled edged knife in a way. It's a good product but it can turn on you.

Pros:

started to make acne marks dissappear literally in two to three days.

Cons:

the smell isn't that great but i'm willing to put that aside to make my humiliating acne scars go away.

Great to us if you have acne scars, ultimately inexpensive, nothing works quite like this. Although, my acne scars were bad they have shown some improvement over two weeks and i hope it continues to make them go away. Living with my acne scars has been hard because i'm a cheerleader and a majorette and i never felt happy and able to express myself. I'm gonna pray that this little bottle of tea tree oil continues as it has and completely clear my face, that would be more than i could ever ask for! Don't spend your money on other things, try this product!

Pros:

It dries up pimples

Cons:

Sometimes stings a bit or can overdry

I use this product on pimple that I absolutely MUST pop... It gets rid of them over night! I pop it and put pure tea tree oil on it and then appyl one of those little spot band-aids on it so it will absorb and when I wake up the infection is gone and the pimple is already starting to scab! Although on big stubborn ones you may have to repeat a second night because it might form a small whithead during the day but this stuff works better than any other spot treatment!

Pros:

I have been using the body shop tea tree oil products and I have to say that they are really quite good. Within the first few days I could see that my spots were clearing up and that it works. It also smells quite nice and relaxing.

Cons:

The only con is that it dries up your skin. But moisturizer can help this so I recommend that you use cleanser, then toner and then moisturizer.

I really like this product and would recommend this to you so go buy it because it is very cheap!

Pros:

The tea tree oil product line should only be used for BLEMISH control. If you do not have ALOT of acne then DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. If you do have oily/blemished prone skin this product will work wonders. Use the cleanser with the moisturizer

Cons:

If you do not have oily skin it will do the reverse and actually CAUSE breakouts so make sure your using the right products.

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic, anti fungal, and germocide. The line is great to use. If using 100% pure tea tree oil as a spot treatment you need to be careful to not apply too much, or it will cause redness and irritate the skin. There are also other amazing things that tea tree oil can do. Have a few drops in your shampoo and your scalp will not be as dry and or flaky. Soak your feet in it everyday with water and it will get rid of fungus.

Pros:

reduces redness, swelling, and size of the pimples after only a few applications!

Cons:

obnoxious smell and dries up your skin pretty badly.

if you want results quickly, try the tea tree oil. i've been having major issues with my acne for five years and after two applications of the 100% tea tree oil, i have already noticed a great difference. of course it is not MAGIC and make everything go away, but i've really noticed a difference and my pores are smaller and tighter and it has significantly reduced the number of blackheads.
