Pros:

works well with my skin
clears acne
works better than drugstore products

Cons:

burns a little
flakes
hard to take off

I get it free because of my mom's healthcare from work. At first, it burned like a b!tch, after a while, your skin gets used to it and it doesnt burn anymore. It's working really well for my skin. I'm really glad that I went to the doctor to get it.

Pros:

None that I can think of.

Cons:

It is a horrible topical medicine that caused my skin to cone off in chunks. I used the mild for 6 months and it was okay, but very, very drying. And then it totally stopped working.

I switched to the regular formula when the mild stopped working completly, although it didn't really work to begin with. It burned my skin right off. It was red and raw and made what zits were on my chin bleed. I cried for 3 hours. Went to another dermatologist, he told me this is the worst topical medicine and switched me to Benzamycin. I have read better things about the Benzamycin, so I am hoping for the best with this one. But I would have to caution anyone using Stievamycin to be very careful. Truthfully, it burns and it does not work.

Pros:

takes away the redness and gets rid of the pimples fast.

Cons:

burns

I don't have sever acne but I get alot of pimples around my chin and it gets really bad at times. I tried Proactive and it made it worse. This is the only thing that worked for me. It takes away the redness of existing marks too :)

Pros:

-Good if used as spot treatment only
-Good if combined with tetracycline
-Good if used by someone who moisturizes their skin

Cons:

-Can cause flaking

Stievamycin can be quite helpful in combination with tetracycline. However, you must only use it as a spot treatment before bed. Do not be tempted to use large globs of it, or your skin will peel. However, if used sparingly, it can dry out red spots, and when you moisturize your skin in the morning, nobody will even notice that there was ever dryness there. I must add that if you are worried about moisturizer causing your face to break out, then don't use it every day, and limit your stievamycin use accordingly. But I would use both in conjunction, and I do NOT recommend drying your face out-- try to use a moisturizer.

Pros:

cleared up under the skin acne pretty fast;existing acne cleared up within a day or 2

Cons:

seems that I have broken out worse, but it is clearing up;can cause burning, redness,I got itchy on certain spots, and flaky skin(all of this is going away though)

I have been using this product almost 3 weeks, and although my face seems to be breaking out worse, some spots are crystal clear. I deveolpoed acne after the birth of my son, and in the last 2 years have tried proactiv, murad, neutrogena, every OTC product out there...nothing worked. My GP perscribed STtievamycin, and I noticed results in 2 days. However, like stated, it seems I am breaking out a lot more, but it clears up very quickly. I would ask your doctor about this product, as mine did not seem very willing at first to perscribe something. I have light acne, but do get occasional cystic acne as well.

Pros:

None so far...

Cons:

dry, itchy skin
burning

I tried it for 2 weeks and it made my skin horrible.I had dry itchy spots on my face that would not way, no matter what I did...discontinued use of it until the spots went away and tried it again and it's doing the EXACT same thing. These spots are extremely itchy and painful and a few very large ones on my face aren't going away. I didn't have bad acne to start with, at all, but my doctor prescribed it because I started to have a few problems areas on my face. I really don't recommend it.This medication has literally burned my skin.

Pros:

exfoliates

Cons:

burns, redness, flakiness

I have tried this product under the recomendation of my doctor. I had a bump like rash thing near my lip, I think from a certain lip gloss that I no longer use, and he gave me a sample of this stuff to try. I applied it once a day for 5 days and it burned the thing right off. I was left with scab that healed but geese, there must have been a better way. I figured I overused it or something. So I tried it again on a little bump on my cheek and it burnt the skin there as well. I think I am too sensitive for this product. Now I have a bunch of little bumps around the burn like mark on my cheek to get rid of. Lovely.
