Used Dove : Sensitive Skin Bar? Rate It:

Choose from 1 to 5 stars
March 19, 2007

Pros:

lathers well, cheap, although unscented has a refreshing smell to it, it works

Cons:

A bit drying

I used expensive cleansers claiming to clear acne and it just made my skin irritated and blistered. I thought to use Dove soap and it cleared up big bumps that have been irritating me for weeks. I am tempted to use other expensive products but I know that this is the best cleanser/bar for me. My husband is happy that I found something that really works.

Pros:

Leaves skin balanced and touchable. Gets rid of Blemishes.

Cons:

leaves it a tiny bit dry

I had just gotten off of acutain about 4 months ago my skin has never skin looked so clear. I had a few pimples pop up and a few black heads on my nose. So I decided that will use the rest of my proactive solution to treat this. Big MISTAKE! Left my face red and blotchy I looked like an ugly freak! I tried a whole bunch of natural remedies to get down the redness and nothing worked. I use dove on my body and on my hands. I noticed how much lighter and touchable my body and hands were than my face. In the back of my mind I could hear my mother saying " Don't ever use soap on your face!" Than i thought why not you use it on the rest of your body why not the skin on your face? So i tried it on my face . Amazingly my face was more touchable lighter and the blemishes became less red! I'm not ever going to use anything but dove again!

Amazing beauty bar!

Very good beauty bar for the face! I've been using this for years now and it's the best brand yet. It's not soap. It's a beauty bar that doesn't dry out the skin, but leaves it moisturized. It cleans my skin so well and you feel the cleanliness at the end of each and every wash. I use this beauty bar 2x daily, along with Differin Gel and my acne is reduced a whole lot. Please don't stop making this beauty bar. This is the only one I use because I can't stand using any other brand or beauty bar because most of them are scented, which irritates my skin

Simple yet effective

No matter what cleansers I have tried to help or reduce my acne, I always go back to dove soap bars. This particular one is simple, last lot longer than liquid soaps, no harsh ingredients, or bippy-boppy-boo fighting acne stuff, but yet cleanses the skin. Not only that I used this on my face but also on my body (cause it is also sensitive as well). I had also recommend this to my boyfriend cause not only his skin is very sensitive, but its also budget friendly (he used to buy this liquid soap that  is hypoallergenic but cost $$$$$). I do like the dove sensitive soap bar, but the reason I gave it a 4 star cause now I am in love with the dove pink (rosa) soap bar. Yes, they both do the same job I felt like the pink one give moisture to the skin. However if the smell of the rosa bothers people, then either the dove original or sensitive soap bar.

My current regimen:

Morning: Nothing (unless if there's a special event then gently cleanse with soap bar for 30 to 45 seconds, rinse, pat dry, and moisturize). If skin feeling tight/dry then slap on moisturizer (current fav vanicream cream).

Night: Cleanse with dove soap bar. If had makeup, then cleanse twice for 30 seconds. Every 2 to 5 days (or just when my skin needs it) exfoliate with a device (a baby rag towelette or hand glove exfoliate). Then use moisturizer (current fav vanicream cream).

Budget friendly?:?? Sure is! And since it is a soap bar, it last much longer.

Does it do its purpose?:?? I believe so. Since it is none acne fighting ingredients, less chances are of irritating the skin.

Would recommend?: Its like a yes and a no thing. If you have normal to oily skin, then yes I would recommend it. However, if you have normal to dry skin, then my recommendation is the pink dove soap. Overall, it will not hurt to try it...give it a shot and see how your skin works and try out different ways.

P.S. it will take about a month to see improvements, so be patience! Also, less is more when it comes to skincare ;)

Not sure how to feel about it.
I got recommended by a friend to try the Dove Sensitive skin soap. I thought it sounded strange but tried it anyways. I have mild - moderate acne. A couple pimples on my chin and/or forehead is common, I also have pretty bad nose blackheads. After trying this my skin felt amazing, it seemed to help with the active breakouts as well. I'm nervous to continue using it after reading that it can be pore clogging.. would appreciate some feedback on that! I have only been using it about a week.

Pros:

It is pretty
Pretty cheap
Works well with Retin-a
One bar lasted me up to three month

Cons:

Overdries
Bad to use when having rashes
Doesn't clean well
Is annoying to keep around

This is good to use on skin that doesn't have a rash and skin that is on retin-a it worked well the first couple of months but when i got my rash it assisted in spreading it! Now Im on Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser with cortisone 10 and I have feel my 5 month rash going a way.

Pros:

cleans skin
reduces oil
gentle

Cons:

does nothing to prevent breakouts

I just started using this because I wanted something light and gentle to use while starting a new prescription I got from my dermatologist. It's great for sensitive skin, but don't count on it for treating acne.

Pros:

- Nothing

Cons:

- Dried out skin
- left some residue

This was the worst product i've ever used so far. It did nothing for my skin and even though it is supposed to be for sensitive skin it irratated my skin and made my acne worse

Pros:

Smells good
Gentle

Cons:

Clogged my pores
Didn't clean thoroughly

I started using this instead of Ivory, and I regret it. Whilst it was gentle and had a lovely smell, it clogged my pores like crazy and didn't clean my skin all the way. I have oily skin, and after I used this and dried my face, my skin was still shiny. Ivory soap cleans my skin completely, which is why I went back to that and ditched Dove.
