I've noticed that many people find potato very good for their skin but it completely ruined mine. I followed all the instructions making sure that my face and potato slice were absolutely clean but when I put it on I noticed after around 30 seconds my face started stinging; I am NOT allergic to potatoes in any way fyi. The potato slices were on my cheeks, under my eyes and when I took them off my eyes were red and puffy I couldn't blink properly - as well as that there were white bead-like marks (or spots) on my cheeks in which I had to sit in a bath soaking it for 5hrs. I tried it again just now and ensured the potato slices were thoroughly cleaned yet the same thing happened and it really stings - If anything, the best thing for you face would be something cream based.

as somebody that had clear skin almost all my early teen years (I'm 16 now) and ruined it by using Equate charcoal face wash DO NOT BUY, i had amazingly clear skin and decided to try it because the magazine described it as a good product, NO it destroyed my skin making it oily full of blackheads in random areas where it previously wasn't a problem, those blackheads turned into pimples, next thing i know i have like 20 pimples on my chin and 2 huge cysts on my forehead, i was extremely devastated and cried every night and prayed and prayed for gods help i was completely drained i was embarrassed to go to school with a whole new pimple full face, i read about raw potato on your face and decided to give it a try , i just got a white potato washed it and peeled off thin slices and placed them only on my acne just Incase of a reaction, leave it on for 30 minutes, at first you will feel tingly, itchy sensation but that MEANS ITS WORKING, trust me !! IN ONE DAY (2 times a day) almost all the REDNESS of my chin was completely gone, at this point i just had the actual bumps, i am yet to try it for longer but in one day it worked great, I'm in love and i will probably obsess with potato lol give it a try and pray pray pray only god can help you achieve something you really want it's working for me so GOODLUCK

Potato cubes
Ingredients: potatoes and apple cider vinegar instructions: blend together ingredients and pour into ice tray and put in the freezer until frozen. After cleansing face grab a potato cube and rub all over your face, leave on for three minutes and then rinse. I've been doing this for almost 6 months now and let me tell you 'It WORKS!!' I saw results in less than a week, now my skin looks all dewy and clear and stuff, I've fallen in love with potato cubes lol.

Did nothing for me :/
It didn't make my acne any worse, but it did nothing to help my scars. I would cut a fresh potato into thin slices and rub them all over my face then leave them on overnight; I did this for two weeks, no difference.

Sweet potatoes
I must be frank, I know nothing of how rubbing raw potatoes on the skin can react with acne. However, I do know how consuming potatoes (specifically sweet potatoes) affect acne. Sweet potatoes, I've read from multiple sources, actually refrain from spiking a person's blood sugar (and keeping blood sugar balanced is quite important to maintain clear skin)...unlike white potatoes, and react rather positively with people who have sensitive, acne prone skin. Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A, a good source of vitamin C, manganese, vitamin B, etc. In my personal life, I found that increasing my consumption of sweet potatoes did in fact help my skin over a period of months. Sometimes a small diet change can have a large affect on skin. Best of luck!

i just made the account to write this cuz i want everybody to know this. I'm using potato's juice on my whole face now, it just blocks new acne, kills the active ones, fades out the scars, and brighten the color. Yeah im very serious about that it brightens your color too. It has B5 in it, i think it kills the acne. just apply it every night and it will remove all of your blemishes and acne.

Is it safe to leave on all night, or is it too irritating? Also, is it irritating on your face at all/ leaves it dry?

Oral Allergy Syndrome - Don't Use!!
For someone who has Oral Allergy Syndrome this didn't work for me at all. I'm a teenager with mild acne scarring. What I did was washed and peeled a potato, slicing it and rubbing it over my face with the juice and then slicing the potato thinner so I could apply the potato as sheets to my acne scars. After a couple of minutes my face started itching all over where I had applied the potato juice and I ended up washing my face immediately before 5 minutes was even up. My face had formed bumps and went all red like I had an allergic reaction (which I didn't realise until afterwards that it could be due to OAS). All I can recommend is that if you have OAS then I suggest you don't try this as you might have an allergic reaction similar to mine. If you don't have OAS and you experience the same reaction as mine then I suggest you wash your face immediately and apply baby powder all over where you applied the potato juice. This is what I did and went to sleep with the baby powder on my face and the bumps and redness had calmed completely overnight. The only reason I give 2 stars is that I had a bed reaction to it, although this may not be the case if I didn't have OAS. All I can say is that if you don't experience any OAS symptoms then potato juice may work for you, it just didn't work for me. Thanks
