Pros:

Quick visible results, light, non-greasy, formulated WITHOUT: parabens, DEA, phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, PABA, paraffin, petrolatum, animal ingredients. Good beneath makeup, natural and certified organic ingredients, 100% natural essential oils

Cons:

I like the earthy smell but some people dislike it, cost ($66.00 for 1.7 fl oz)

This product works. You can see it work right in front of you even the next day. My acne tends to be the cystic type that comes up painfully under the skin and may or may not come to a head, and stays red and painful for a while. I have tried blue light treatments, aczone, differin, erythromycin, various salicylic cleansers, birth control pills, salicylic and benzoyl peroxide spot treatments...the bottom line was that apparently my acne problem is less oil-producing pore related and more hormonal/deep skin. I got a sample of the mushroom serum from Origins, and within 3 days my skin has been better than it was in years - it completely repaired all the damage done by the blue light treatment (the treatment had caused me to develop two persistent patches of acne, something I had never had before in my life). Also I have not had any new acne cysts develop since I started using it. It costs a lot, but it actually works and it lasts a long time - I have never seen a product work like this does, I'm amazed the plantidote line has not been mentioned on Acne.org before! It was especially good right after I messed with my face (the way we're not supposed to) and had all these red inflamed patches. It is probably best for people with cystic/inflammation/hormonal acne, rather than oil production problems, but I would not discourage anyone from just trying it. On the Origins site, 172/180 reviewers would recommend it! I should also add that the cleanser I use is the Nutribiotic Sensitive Skin Non-Soap Cleanser (very cheap, no parabens, sulfates, DEA, soap, etc). SUPER bottom line: Go to an Origins salesperson (easiest to find at Macy's) and get a free sample of this product - the sample lasts up to a month. If the product works for you, then you will probably know it by the end of the week. It is AMAZING. You lose nothing by just trying it!

Pros:

Anti-aging product, moisturizing, heals acne and makes acne scarring appear non-existent,

Cons:

It can be expensive, the fragrance may not appeal to all noses.

I'm very much prone to having severe cases with zits on every inch of me but worst in my cheek area. I'm dark-skinned *chocolate LOL* but I have such sensitive skin my cheeks are red in places from inflammation. The Origins rep offered this for my skin's sensitivity, redness, acne and fine lines in my forehead. Though i'm young my skin was a bit damaged from using proactiv's products, so I avoid salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide from now on.. I sampled the cleanser, toner and serum on one cheek, I noticed after 5 days it cleared up dramatically, my skin was glowing, zits gone and my small amount of acne scarring *holes not hyperpigmentation* had vanished! My skin looked perfect, even and glowing and I needed no makeup!. All of my redness and acne left in 6 weeks but I noticed I did get a few blackheads by the time I hit 6 weeks. I think the issue I had was I didn't exfoliate at all, nor use a mask and honestly the cream cleanser though incredible probably created the black heads. It's very soothing, moisturizing but I felt it didn't really clean and I have combination skin with sometimes very dry cheeks! This serum in my honest opinion *not fact* is a very powerful anti-aging product that leaves your face very supple. The smell to me is like that of men's after shave but I like that. :-) It just seems to relax me every time I apply the product with its unique fragrance. In addition, My skin did seem a bit oily for the first few weeks but with continued use it no longer did. I bought it with the plantidote line travel size kit so everything came out to be 50 dollars. :-)

Pros:

Amazing.

Cons:

Expensive.

Updating from my earlier review- I have now been using this for exactly two and a half weeks, and my skin is completely clear. If you have hormonal cystic acne or rosacea THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

Pros:

Non-irritating
Pleasurable to use
WORKS

Cons:

Expensive

I bought this product on the basis of other reviews on the internet. The verdict seems to be vastly divided, but those that had great success with it appeared to have the same skin type and issues as me- dry skin with sore, cystic hormonal acne on the chin which never ever really cleared up, and recently appeared to be accelerating. I bought the serum as part of a set which cost me £40. That's a lot of money for me, but I really needed this to work. The set contained not only the serum, but also the mega mushroom cream cleanser, which I also like, and a exfoliating peel, also good. This was a good deal I got because the serum is worth more than that by itself. I am using twice a day and at first I wasn't convinced. The areas where my skin is good (ie. everywhere but my chin) seemed incredibly soft and radiant, but the inflamed area on my chin was, well.. a lot worse. So bad I didn't want to leave the house. This is often the way with new products that are going to work though, and I have kept on applying it to my freshly cleansed and toned skin each day now for 6 days, and I have to say I am really impressed. Old cysts and are drying up rapidly, and there have been no new ones. Redness is fading fast, and the "good skin" is unbelieeeevably gorgeous airbrushed type wonderful skin. Hopefully if I keep using this my cysts will disappear entirely and it will all be "good skin", I have quite a lot of uneven texture in my cystic "bad areas" and hyperpigmentation, which as I am very pale are really noticeable. I have read reviews saying that this product helps with these issues also. Thankyou to the person that posted the first review of mega mushroom, because I never would have considered it otherwise, and it just might be the product that finally manages to turn my skin around and change my life!

Pros:

Reduces inflammation and redness
Decreases skin's hypersensitivity
Lightweight, soothing serum

Cons:

Polarizing scent; some people love it, others don't. Price is moderate for prestige skin care, but may be an initial turn-off for some.

First, a disclaimer: I work for the Origins brand, which is owned by Estee Lauder Companies. My opinion on this product is my personal one, not that of Origins or ELC. I bought this serum from an associate 3 months ago while mystery shopping prior to my interview, and I've been using it religiously since day 1. Initially I experienced a noticeable improvement in skin texture and in the rate at which my acne healed. After a couple of months I could definitely notice an overall improvement in redness and in reactivity to other products. After 3 months of using this in combination with other Origins products, I've experienced a dramatic decrease in acne. I still get the isolated cyst-like pimple (still experimenting with product combinations to see if any further improvement can be made), but at least they heal quickly and don't scar. If anyone is interested in trying this or other Origins products, I encourage you to visit a retail store. I know some great people who work at Macy's and sell Origins, but you generally get the most knowledgeable and dedicated service from a store (Macy's counters are not staffed by Origins Guides 100% of the time, while stores are).
