Pros:

Regular period cycles, bigger boobs

Cons:

Nausea, Still having breakouts

Just finished 2nd pack of YAZ. I know I'm supposed to wait 3 months before any "real" signs of clearing up acne, but I'm still having cystic breakouts without sign of clearing. However, I am now trying to incorporate healthy foods like fruits and veggies and swearing off soda. This should help, I hope.

Pros:

Has helped with the severity of my cramping, sort periods, lighter periods than when I was not on b/c. NO BABIES!!

Cons:

Number one con: HAS HAD A RECALL, VERY SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS!! DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS, IF SO, PLEASE LET US ALL KNOW!! Still cramp up for a few days during period. less of a sex drive. expensive w/out insurance. period is off by 2-3 days

First and foremost, i just heard about the recall and extremely severe side-effects and am very nervous about it. I have been on the pill for quite some time now and have loved it, except now I wonder if it is safe. It is considered by public health conservatives (people who want to help the public) a DO NOT USE drug, which frightened me considerably. My problem is that I have extremely severe cramps without the pill and this pill is specially made for women like me, with these problems (while I have never been diagnosed, my ob-gyn just put me on pills and never tried to diagnose the problem). So I am very greatful for this pill for this reason. While I still get cramps on this pill about 2 days out of my 4-5 day period, they are no where near as severe as my cramps with out the pill. But because of the recall I am considering switching... I was hoping to find some infor on what other girls are doing about it (if anything) but did not find it hear, Hope I have been informative...

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

I just finished my first full month on YAZ. I went on it just to make my face clear. WELL it has now made my face the worst it has ever been in my life! : ( And now instead of a period that lasted two days like normal, my period lasted 12 days!

I don't know if this just takes a long time to work or what...but if it doesn't get better in a month or so I am getting off of it. I cry for absolutely no reason, not just around when my period comes either like it used to be. It has not helped my face, it has made it 100 times worse! I have cystic acne around my chin which I hardly ever had before. I also have a lot of little tiny bumps all over my face that I really had never got before starting this. My face looks absolutely horrible, so much so I don't even like going outside anymore :( That is how bad! And my period lasted for 12 days. It usually it only 2 to 3 days at max. And I even had cramps for the first half of the period too. I wouldn't recommend this birth control for any reason.

Pros:

Cleared up skin, helped A LOT with PMDD. Prevents pregnancy too...duh!

Cons:

If you stop taking it for longer than 4 days you're off the pill, you're acne sometimes comes back.

Everyone is different!! There wasn't a single drug store/department store/OTC treatment that could help keep my skin clear for more than a few weeks. Yaz is for PMDD which is worse than PMS...like I couldn't leave my bed for days and would pass out from my cramps. It's for more moderate/severe acne too...be careful because you're getting different horomones over a longer period of time, which for some people can be too much of a good thing. READ THE INFO PAMPHLET! Using Yaz, along with Murad's Energizing Pomegrante Cleanser (not the acne treatment which is way harsh), and an occasional steam facial is the only way to keep my from breaking out. Chances are for most people it's not going to be a one step quick fix, you're going to have to find a combo of treatments to help clear up your skin!

Pros:

? i didn't notice any change in my pms symptoms.

Cons:

I had so much break through, that i wasn't sure that it prevented pregnancy. i have a 4 month old daughter now. at first i thought it was me, that did something wrong, until my friend told me this morning that she's pregnant.

Maybe i didn't take it long enough, but i got pregnant on Yaz. I swithced from Yasmine to Yaz, because of the intoxicating commercial. lol. there was really no reason for me to stop taking yasmine. My girlfriend did the same thing, switch because the commercial sounded cool, and now, she's currently one month pregnant.

Pros:

effective birth control, no pms, better skin, less cramps, light/short periods

Cons:

took a while to get used to it

when i first started taking this pill, i had a few anxiety attacks caued by it. but now everything is fine---i started to break out again, i think mostly because of stress---in the beginning, it was more effective at treating my acne, but i've started to break out agian.

Pros:

Prevents pregnancy!

Cons:

Made my acne worse (and I'm almost 29!) and I felt like my hormones were out of whack. My appetite was bigger too. This doesn't do half of what the ads say it does!!

Liked Yasmin better.

Pros:

It definitely regulated my crazy period. It took away perimenstral cramps, and definitely made me less emotional. Turned my moderate acne into mild... still there though!

Cons:

Bled for the first month straight through. Hasn't completely taken my acne away. Caused extreme anxiety to the point of where it is affecting my job. Beat red face, blotchiness, you name it. Also causes bad panic attacks.

Give it a try. Different pills are hell for some people and wonderful for another. But I'd probably try another lower estrogen higher anti-androgen to clear up acne before you try Yaz. Don't get hooked on the TV ads just yet..

Pros:

prevents pregnancy, 100% clear skin in 3 1/2-4 months, boobs grew about a cup size

Cons:

loss of sex drive for the first month or two, loss of vaginal fluid (mostly after period and when i first started the pill), still have blackheads

about a month after i started taking yaz my skin started to clear up, then 2 months after that the acne that i had on my face (a few cysts on each cheek, probably one or two around my chin) was healing but I could really tell that there was nothing else going to form. Now it is a month from when that happened and i havent gotten one cyst. I restarted minocycline around the time i started with yaz as well and i have drastically changed my skincare routine too. I think these have helped with my amazing results. I reacted very well to minocycline the fist time i took it and going off it was why i got severe acne on my cheeks again. also, i am not completely sure of what i pay for it, my parents usually get it for me.

Pros:

I used to be an emotional WRECK before my periods, crying the entire week. (I also have depression so this was just intensified during the one week). So Yaz helped TREMENDOUSLY with the emotions & NO cramps!

Cons:

I was put on Yaz to clear my acne, I've stuck with it for a year and it constantly fluctuates from decently clear to horrible breakout.

Give it a shot, I didnt experience any negative side effects, and it didnt necesariliy make me break out worse, it just didnt make my skin any clearer, consistently.
