White Round Tablets
Active Ingredients:
Desogestrel, 0.02 mg Ethinyl Estradiol.

Inactive Ingredients:
Colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, polyethylene glycol, povidone, pregelatinized starch, stearic acid and vitamin E, followed by 2 inert light-green round tablets with the following inactive ingredients: FD&C blue no. 1 aluminum lake, FD &C yellow no. 6 aluminum lake, D&C yellow no. 10 aluminum lake, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinized starch.

Pros:

"Regular" periods that are relatively non-painful. Not having to change ultra/super tampons every 15 minutes due to a heavy flow was wonderful! My acne got to the point of being almost non existent.

Cons:

Since stopping the pills in December of 2004, I have only had my period twice (April of 2005, and July of 2007). I've also started growing thick, almost "eyelash" looking hairs on my chin and neck. Its pretty gross.

I wouldn't take them again. The cons far outweigh the pros (at least for me).

Pros:

lighter periods && no pain during periods

Cons:

lower sex drive

it kinda helped mi acne but it's still there.. it lowers the amount of sex you want and at first you might get a lot of nausea!! i have maintained mi weigh.

Pros:

Not pregnant

Cons:

weight gain, some moodiness

This product wasnt as bas as some others Ive taken. I did notice though if I didnt take it the same time everyday, say later than usual i would get a migrain. But definitely not as many side effects as cyclessa.

Pros:

It diminishes my horrible migraines.

Cons:

It might have given me my first breakout in over ten years.

I have been using this one for a few months so the acne might not have anything to do with the BC...we'll see! I normally get 2-3 migraines during the course of my period, but since starting Kariva, the generic, I only have one per period so I consider that a huge improvement!! If the breakouts continue I might investigate other options because I work with the public and I have a flawless complexion!

Pros:

Very light almost non-existent periods. Clear skin!

Cons:

Very dry skin, HORRIBLE mood, period never came when it was suppose to, absolutely NO sex drive at all!!!

I was on Mircette for 7 months. During the first two months I had horrible migraines. Then my mood started to change, I had severe anxiety, and an almost violent attitude, which is NOT like me, I'm one of the most laid back people you have ever met. I thought maybe I was having issues with my thyroid that the pills were either giving me too much horomones or not enough, but thyroid checked out just fine. Also, I would take my pill every evening at 10:00 pm, I was never even 10 mins late taking it, and I never got my period when I was suppose to. I'd end up starting my period during the last two days of the week due. I skipped one pill during my 28days and had a period for 8 days. I've been off of the pills now for 2 weeks, and I feel great!!! I will NEVER AGAIN take Mircette.
