Pros:

clears up acne a bit

Cons:

worse cramps than before, and causes blood clots

After using Diane 35 for almost 6 months, I saw a little difference in my acne, but not enough for me to keep using it. For me, the cons outweighed the pros of me staying on it to see what would happen in the long run. I was reading that 100% of subjects that took Diane had their acne gone after 18 months, but I didn't want to wait that long, nor deal with the consequences of birth control as a method of acne treatment. Diane 35 is really dangerous apparently (causes blood clots and such), and being off of it for about 2 weeks now I'm feeling bloated and getting stomach aches almost every day, but it should go away.

Pros:

Clears up a bit, not bad

Cons:

BREAST ENLARGEMENT. Oh my god, I had perfect B's and now have busting out C's. If you want a bigger chest, mood swings, weight gain, this is the pill for you.

It does indeed help, but just has severe side effects.

Pros:

Improved acne, not pregnant, can skip periods

Cons:

Slight weight gain, possible other side effects (not sure if they are due to pill or not), didn't clear all acne

This pill worked pretty well for me though not all my acne is gone it's definitely a lot better. and it's good how it can be used as a birth control too. I didn't get any side effects at first but some appear to be arriving now after a few months, however they may not be due to the pill.

Pros:

None that would be worth using it for.

Cons:

Depression, mood swings, ZERO sex drive, dizziness, breathlessness, chest pain, bloating, weight gain - where do I end?

DON'T TAKE THIS PILL. It almost ruined my marriage! I have never had acne. My doctor in Europe prescribed this pill as a birth control. I was never told it was an acne treatment! I was on this pill for 10 years. The first few years I didn't have any problems. Then I started getting more moody but haven't noticed it, then the sex drive went down and to make long story short-I was sitting on the couch crying for no reason when my husband asked me why I was crying and I didn't know. That's when I realized that something was wrong. You are probably thinking why I didn't do something about it earlier. That's what is killing me- the changes didn't happen right away and all at the same time but rather over years one adding to another until it snowballed. I stopped the pill 2 months ago and I can't believe that all the symptoms just disappeared. I can't believe I didn't figure it out before!

Pros:

I can't see anything yet on my skin, but i do not experience menstrual cramps.

Cons:

upset stomach, nausea, headache

i haven't gotten any weight gain as many experience. This is my 3rd month of taking diane. however, i noticed that my acne worsened. I am so worried because im up for job interviews this month and i don't want to attend interviews with a really bad breakout... i use it with Proactiv. please let me know if i need to stop taking diane? or is it normal to still have this breakout although i am already taking it? i am a little confused

Pros:

Clear skin (initial breakout), Bigger boobs, didnt effect sex drive

Cons:

ALWAYS exhausted! Can't get enough sleep (not good). Bigger appetite. A bit of chest pain. Sore breasts. Irritable, bad mood swings.

I have yet to find the "perfect" birth control for me. I dont like the fact that this BCP makes me so tired (like, really tired) and moody. I am going to finish my packs, because I paid for them, and because I noticed clearer skin and I am going on vacation + a wedding and dont want to risk having my acne reappear. I pretty much want a birth control thats excellent for skin with minor side effects... I was thinking of trying Yasmin. Any suggesions?

Pros:

Beautiful smooth skin (peace of mind), soft thick hair, and all the benefits of a BCP (e.g., regular cycles)

Cons:

Nothing that is worse than having acne

Diane has given me 12 years of beautiful smooth skin and the confidence that I wont wake up to a face full of pimples. I first took it for a year and then went off it, but after a year I became frustrated with acne again (can't remember how long it took to return) and went back on it for 12 years (I'm 33 years young now!). I reluctantly stopped taking it 4 months ago as my husband and I would like to try and have a baby. I have had a couple of pimples on my chin but nothing distressing. On the back of my neck I have developed full-on acne but am not too worried about it given it's not a noticeable area. My skin and hair are very oily and my breasts have gone from a D-cup to a B, but nothing too problematic so far (fingers crossed it stays that way). The first 'home-made' period was associated with terrible depression but it only lasted for about two weeks and am feeling normal again. On the weight gain issue - I think all BCPs affect weight.

Pros:

Oily skin reduced; Acne cleared around 85 percent after 4 months; Oily hair reduced

Cons:

Depression; Bloating; Mood swings/Irritability extremely high; Headaches first three months; Dizziness

Hoping will really take effect after 6 months of use (My Dermatologist told me). I'm crossing fingers 'cause I've been treating my pimples for five years but to no avail, but yeah, I started taking Diane-35 last December, and pimples cleared out 90 percent at the start of the fourth month of use. I hope pimples won't come back after 6 months of use!! Else, Diane-35 not really good, eih

Pros:

Absolutely clear skin!

Cons:

weight gain due to water retention, extreme mood swings, depression

I've been taking diane for 2 years and 3 months! My acne completely cleared out on the 8th month of taking the pill. I am enjoying glorious, porcelain skin up to this day. I've been wanting to get off the pill since last year but I'm too scared that my pimples will come back with a vengeance! :( I'm too vain. Downside is I have gained more than 10 lbs. already. I get easily irritated and i'm always depressed! I've consulted several dermatologists. Been asking them re: possible alternatives that would prevent my acne from coming back should i stop taking diane, but not a single derma was able to assure me that I won't experience the same side-effect that other users here have gone through. I don't want to take this pill for life. I still want to have kids but I just couldn't take the idea of having to deal with uncontrollable acne again..

Pros:

Controls acne!!! and no babies!!!

Cons:

Can't stop taking it. Whenever I try ( a month) my skin goes CRAZY! every pore seems to erupt!

I have been taking this pill for the past 15 years! I do like the effects on my skin. I have mood changes before the period, so I try to take it 3 months in a row rather than one. I'm affraid of long term effects... Everytime I stoped taking the pill, My skin erupts with rage. I'm in that transition right now, and i feel depressed of discovering 4 new eruptions in my skin everymorning (in addition to the others still on my skin) I'm form south america, I took it while living in the south emisphere, and once I moved here I have to get it shipped because it is illegal drug here.
