Diane-35 : Oral Contraceptive

I have been suffering with cystic acne for over 4 years. I have been on every kind of oral antibiotic my derm. could think of. This is the only thing to work. I have just started my second pack of pills and not only are my BIG pimples gone, the little ones are getting better too. I still get the odd pimple but not like before. I got bigger boobs almost immediately and i have lost 5 pounds. Considering it was the holidays, the 5 pound weight loss is a lot. I only weighed 130 anyway.

I'm still holding out hope for its affects on acne. All in all I like it. Fewer side-effects second time around.

I would strongly advise anyone thinking of taking this medication to reconsider. Yes it did clear up my acne (mild-moderate) but the side effects were definately not worth it. This pill is an anti-androgen. Androgens are responsible for sex-drive. No wonder than that taking this pill totally killed my libido. The other side effects I had were vaginal dryness and yeast infections that refused to go away no matter what I did. After about 3-4 months of stopping the pill my acne came back about twice as bad as it was before. Now I'm on roaccutane - the only product on the market that offers the possibility of a cure for acne. I only wish I would have taken roaccutane in the first place instead of messing around with that horrible pill. Hopefully this helps someone.

I was quite a skinny girl. Then i had acne and was prescribed juliet 35. Within 2-3months my skin cleared up, which was great! but then i realised i had gained alot of weight and no matter how much exercise i would do the kilos weren't going they were increasing! i also felt sad and cried at the most silliest unhurtful things, it just didnt make sense!! Considering i use to be a very happy person. I am now about to complete my 7th month on this pill, and i am now starting the pill yasmin. So let's see how it goes! Write the results sooooon..

To be honest I don't know how much of a role the diane 35 itself played in clearing up my skin. I've been using it for 5 months (along with minocycline the antibiotic, and 2 topical creams: stieva and clindoxyl). The use of 4 prescriptions over 5 months has made my skin flawless!! If you have moderate to severe acne like I did, diane 35 alone will probably not do the trick. Ask your dermatologist for a few prescriptions to target the problem on all levels. Birth control of all kinds will improve your skin, so why not add this to your regime. I did not experience any weight change or any change in cup size. I did feel a decrease in libido.This doesn't mean it's ruined my ability to be turned on, just that I don't feel particularly sexual most of the time if that makes sense. I will probably not continue on Diane 35 once my dermatologist confirms I don't need it.

After going off this pill I felt fantastic - no more moodiness or fatigue. But then my acne came back, all over my face, chest and back. And for the last year, ive suffered recurrent thrush which cleared up as soon as i went off it.

can i use diane 35 if im taking doxycycline??

i have one more pack to go. i shall see how it goes. BUT IM GETTING IMPATIENT! what if i start my 3rd pack and it still doesnt show improvements???

i have only been using this product for 1 month, i switched to it because i was using doxycycline and that was making me feel really sick. i am so self concious about my skin that i feel it is the only thing people can see when they look at me i just really hope that this product will work for me because i don't want to have to keep applying all of the different creams and goos to my skin that have a minimal effect. i want clear skin more than anything.

I absolutely love Diane-35. From I was a little girl, i was always looking for a way to clear up my acne and make my periods more comfortable. These were my two life menaces. I couldn't even eat sugary fruits without it causing acne inflammation, and I won't even go into the real sugary stuff like candy. I know the packet now says that you should discontinue use after 3-4 mths after the acne has cleared, but I tried stopping when my mother discovered that it gave her high blood pressure, but the acne came back some months later. Differin gel is great topical treatment, but I need something internal. I'll have acne for a long time since my mom at 54 still has it. I don't know how I'll be able to give it up since it has helped so much, but I really do not want to experience high blood pressure or blood clots because of it. For now though, at 23, I hope the cons mentioned are the only ones I'll experience.
