i'm 21, have had acne since i was 12, and i've been on diane for about 1 year. it's okay but i'm ready to try something else that will make me more emotionally stable. it's free on my work plan which is nice.

Cons:

My skin was terrible on this pill. Had to switch.

Pros:

Skin clears up after about 3 months. Lessens period pain, and PMS symptoms.

Cons:

You have to stay on the pill for years, and years. I have tried to stop, but acne comes back SEVERE, and has made me scar worse than before..:( Total loss of sex drive, mood swings, weight gain, loss of night vision, depressions.

I went on Diane 35 when I was just 15. I am 21 now, and I can't quit, becouse the acne keeps coming back when I go off it. I have scarred severely when off. I am now asking my doctor to go on Accutane...

Pros:

Shorter, lighter periods. Reduced oiliness in skin. Clear skin when on it for a long period of time.

Cons:

Takes about 5 months to start working effectively. Expensive if your not covered under a health plan. Acne comes back if you go off for a couple months.

I'd say it's a great treatment for minor acne. When it comes to people who have suffered with acne for years its not the best........it reduces oilyness but it didn't clear me up that well. I really recommend acutane, and for all of you that have hard the horror stories about it...its not that bad. Give it a try! IT'S WORTH IT!

Pros:

Takes care of my acne and regulates my period. No weight gain, or period pain and minimal bloating. Also my leg hair barely grows anymore- making shaving a cinch!

Cons:

Some emotional instability and the constant need to apologize for it, occasional weeping and dizziness.

I have tried to switch to another birth control pill but have way too much breakthrough bleeding and my acne really came back with a veng

The pill is great but I would rather have some sense of emotional stability. When I tried to switch to another pill (Yasmin) for 4 months, the annoying breakthrough bleeding that I experienced, was just way too much to handle. I was having about 3 two day periods a month- at any surprising time! Also my acne came back about 5 times worse than it ever was- so I was a bleeding spotty mess- and that caused emotional swings on its own (although at least I knew and could explain the reason why I was upset) The dizziness is a bit odd too- I have fainted on a few occasions and have a hard time standing in lines, at say the grocery store or the bank, without feeling like I am going to faint. Also its expensive and student plans don't cover it but thankfully my doctor managed to find me some free samples. So would I take it knowing what I know now..... probably not. As soon as I have time for the surprise periods again I am going to try to switch.

Pros:

doesnt work sh*t for acne... or using for bc...

Cons:

i was hung over the toilet every time i would take it... i lost 10 pounds because of this...

dont take this pill.... its bad for you in the first place you are only suppose to stay on it for 4-6 months and if it makes your acne worse when you get off of it, its not worth it. i would rather go on accutane rather then this....

Pros:

clearer skin and definitely an effective birth control

Cons:

not a long term effect.

I went on this pill for about 7 months, and it was an amazing pill, cleared my acne right up, but after I got off it when my skin cleared, within three months the acne came back! i got pimples on my forhead and t zone especially, and I never used to get pimples on my forehead, I'm definitely going back on this pill since my derm and my doc won't prescribe my accutane :(. I'm just starting my first pack again.. !

Pros:

Works as a birth control

Cons:

Heart Palpitations, Nausea, IBS

I used it for a year and then I realized that it wasn't worth being on it or any other pill. Changes hormones and disrupts normal balance in the body. I don't recommend any pill or anything artificial.

Pros:

slightly bigger boobs....

Cons:

headaches, sick to my stomach when I first started, leg pain, seems to have brought out every zit my face was planning on having in the next couple months. I'm depressed and on edge. Not sure if its the pills or the fact that my face looks like hell

When I started these pills my face was worse than it had ever been before in my life. I just finished my first pack and I haven't had much improvement. My face seemed to get even worse, and in the last couple days it may have improved a bit. I am really hoping that this is one of those instances where it gets worse before it gets better....just about everyone else on here has been raving about how their skin cleared up so fast. I am not feeling great at all. It really sucks having to go to work every day with my face like this. I swear I will never complain about a few zits again if this goes away. I'm 25 and all of a sudden my face just freaked out. Has anyone else taken these pills and had their face get worse, or not get better for a while??

Pros:

Less breakouts, helping skin, bigger breasts

Cons:

Anxiety, depression, dizziness, can be considered expensive.

I have been using this pill for exactly 2 months and can notice a difference, it is really working. Heaps less breakouts. Side effects are that I'm feeling fatigue, anxiety and very emotional. I'm willing to stick with it though. I feel it's going to be worth it. The cost was $50 for 3 months, so when I think about it, $20 a month really isn't that much for something that works!
